The only other time I remember a Manager taking a player out like that was when Billy Martin took out Reggie Jackson at Comiskey Park. That happened well before the Cox/Jones incident. I'm sure there were others.
I didn't know that. I looked at his stats. 18-year-old kid in Low A hit around ,240 with .737 OPS. Strikeouts were a bit high. Still, he's a big kid, built like his father, played reasonably well. I'm surprised by your analysis.
