QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 18, 2012 -> 01:36 AM) Look at this young man tell all you old folks what's up. Young people represent. When you try to make GOAT teams for NBA 2k12, you watch lots of videos. And also, at least I'm not being told I live in the past.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) Ugh...this is horrible, heartbreaking news. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. I'm sure the Soxtalk community would be more than willing to help in any way possible. Don't hesitate to ask. I can't from here in Columbia, but I will if I'm ever home and you need help Row.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 06:43 PM) Put your changes in bold next time, otherwise it's just confusing. That goes for all you clever whipper-snappers who "fix" posts. Ok, I gotcha next time. Though I wasn't doing it to "fix" it so much as make a point. Edit: Before you kill me Kal, I was just kidding around.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
Ok, I got some catching up. 1) ss2k5 are you on crack? Jordan would average 40 a game in today's NBA. No hand checking, no Payton/Clyde/Dumars/Cooper/Moncrief to guard him, only one great big (who isn't s*** against the guys Jordan went up against), superstar calls, and he'd get f***ing pissed when someone like LeBron starts dancing and just drop bombs. 2) Hakeem > Dwight athletically. Dwight's got more vertical, but he could only begin to Dream (motherf***ing puns) about having Hakeem's coordination. 3) Wilt would still be good. Dude was Derrick Rose fast, a health freak that ran marathons in his 50s, and had great leaping ability. He wouldn't put up 50 and 25, but he'd be the best center in today's league, even with the 3 second rule. 4) Bill Russell would still be able to play. Probably not a Hall of Famer, but he'd be an all-star once or twice. 5) Cousy is an awkward motherf***er. Dunno how he'd adapt. 6) Wade is about equal to Clyde athletically.

The Knicks have four guys who's best attribute is scoring in Lin, Smith, Melo, and Amare. It's Phoenix all over again.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) [/b] It really is good. The NBA has by far the best national TV media coverage out of any of the sports IMO. The ESPN crew minus Broussard is pretty good, and the TNT/NBA crew is probably the best. I miss NBA TV...don't get it in college.

Rumor? - Cubs deny consider playing at the Cell for 2013
QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) You guys just mirrored what my Cub fan co-worker said: video screen = put it on one of the rooftops. Seriously though: who the hell needs a video screen at a baseball game? Football, I can see that--wanting to see the replays etc. But when do we ever look at the jumbotron at The Cell except for the opening montage? They don't replay controversial plays. So that leaves, what? The pizza races? I've seen controversial plays on it before. And out of town updates. Stats on a player.

Sox sign Kosuke Fukudome
QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 11:02 PM) Facts ... • Sox have added De Aza and Viciedo. • Rios is one of the highest paid players in Sox history and has started in the big leagues for several years now. He's known as a regular. • A new season is starting making last year's stats mean nothing regarding Rios. • Any manager will give a highly regarded, well paid veteran like Rios several weeks/months to prove himself, at least until the weather has been warm for a month or so • Lilli will play. • De Aza and Viciedo are still young and unknown. • Pierre is the manager favorite, so he'll play. Conclusion • Rios and Pierre will play ... at the expense of Viciedo and De Aza. How can u argue with this? Why would any manager not let Viciedo or De Aza play at least until to show he is capable, when they've had a chance to start. In my eyes the guy who gets screwed is my new favorite, De Aza and Viciedo

Sox sign Kosuke Fukudome
QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:43 PM) Just to piss me off, Fuko will play a lot this season at the expense of DeAza, not Rios. That will just suck. I want DeAza to play all season to see if he can hit. If you got to sit somebody, sit Rios!!!! We have no idea how Robin will run the team.

Peavy ready for bounce back season
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) My instinct is that Herm helps guys get back to being healthy but he doesn't control things like pitchers spring training conditioning/throwing schedules or their offday work schedules, or their throwing technique, all those I'd put under Coop. He specifically says he does "prehab", preparing athletes to avoid injuries and recover quickly.

Peavy ready for bounce back season
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 08:14 AM) The Sox under Ozzie generally had a pretty good record of keeping their starting pitchers healthy compared to the rest of the league. Some of that might be the presence of M-56, some of that might be Cooper's throwing program, some of that might be herm, some of that might be Ozzie. If that translates down to Florida, they'll be in pretty good shape...but obviously, Johnson is the key. Herm.
