QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) There's only 40-somethin' games left. I'd say those two have clearly established themselves as the top rookies. Not sure who else will legitimately enter the equation between now and the end of the season. This isn't a particularly strong class. Mirotic, when he comes over early after Boozer punches the floor.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 01:01 PM) Rubio also leads the league in steals. Er, sorry, TOTAL steals. He's going to demolish the franchise record for steals and might set the franchise record for assists too. As a rookie. He's pretty good, I guess. He only gets assists cause of Love and he can't shoot. Give me Irving. MAXIMUM TROLLING

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) If that was in an actual NBA game, that would be the best dunk ever.. by far. I still think it is, even considering just straight up dunks. Dr. J had a real good one as well. If that was an NBA game, there would be no debate.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 06:38 AM) You know Quinarvy is only like 18 right 19, but thank you. I never saw these dunks in the moment. Barkley goes coast to coast and hangs on a rim. Kemp served up the nastiest facial ever. VC just climbed mountain tops and his dunks are notes in other people's careers. Pippen served up a waaaaay nastier facial. Didn't need arm in face to do it. Jordan beat like 101 traps to serve up his. Nique beats a trap and jumps backwards to do a two handed slam. Dr. J rocking the baby just added flair.

7-Year Old Girl Cut From Baseball Team
Baseball is the one sport where I think girls and boys should all be able to play it together. Especially at that age. Some of the best players on my little league team were girls and one is one of my best friends (not at the time) She could have played in Jr. High easy if there wasn't a stigma that had her play softball.

QUOTE (MAX @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 01:15 AM) First of all, that's just your opinion. You state it like a fact. And I don't agree. If he did, he would attack the hoop with the direction of his body, not just his arm, which he also barely attacks with. Sorry, I didn't mean it to come off as a statement of fact. And for me, viciousness is the downward power of a dunk, when you can hear it, it's nasty, but I definitely understand your point.

QUOTE (MAX @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 01:06 AM) That's what blake lacks here. Viciousness. He doesn't even go at it hard, just jumps straight up and throws it down hard, which is why he doesn't (can't actually) attack the rim in this situation. Its an amazing play, but to me, no where near the top dunks of all time for that reason. No, Blake has viciousness and air. What he doesn't have is finesse.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 12:59 AM) I LOVE the dunk on Weis because he went up and over, but it was an international game against France. The dunk on Zo was awesome, but VC kinda went in sideways and pushed him out of the way. Still incredible. Yeah, but over a 7 footer with that extension, leaping, and viciousness.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 12:57 AM) I'd say Blake's dunk is up there. I'd take Pippen over Ewing and Kemp over Lister though as far as dunking on somebody. Not VC over Alonzo or Weis?

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 12:40 AM) Apparently so, since most of those dunks were from the 90's, it just seems like a very stuck up mindset. There has been plenty of amazing dunks since then. I don't see anything special in that barkley dunk, since he didn't even dunk on anyone. The Kemp and Dr J dunk might have an argument. But I really think the Jordan dunk is more of a historically symbolism dunk (Jordan over Ewing), and a honor for him being the GOAT. Take out the names in that play, and there were quite a few facial dunks like that just from the past decade. But I haven't never seen a more powerful and athletic dunk, ever, like the dunk tonight. Not only did he dunk on Perkins, he took off from a long distance, jumped so high his head was above the rim, and his arm was fully extended, and threw down a thunderous dunk. the contortion of o his legs just made it more aesthetically pleasing. If you don't think this dunk can touch any of those dunk, you need to stop living in another era. My bad, need to clarify. The two no dunk will ever touch are VC over Alonzo or Weis.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) I think that might be the best in game dunk of all time, even tops the Jordan over Ewing dunk, which is popularly recognized with the honor I disagree. I'll take: Barkley coast-to-coast Kemp over Liston Nique backwards two handed slam Pippen over Ewing Jordan over Ewing Dr. J rock the baby. And especially VC over Weis or Alonzo. No dunks will ever touch those.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Mourning was hurt basically every year he played with Hardaway. But lets look, the per for both was 45 at their peak. The per for Rose + Howard is 50. And for further comparison, Shaq/Kobe was 55. Rose/Howard could be a combination for the ages. Mourning is the closest comparison to Dwight out there. Dwight is not Shaq.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) Howard is a f***ing doofus. Why didn't he say this before? Like 2 months ago? Cause Dwight Howard is a b****. (Which my loathing of Howard and love of Noah obviously makes me biased. That being said, Dwight >>>>> Noah in talent, but I don't feel like the Magic are in a spot to make us give up a lot more).

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) I dont think Malone and Howard are very comparable, Howard is a top Center, Malone is a top PF. The combination of top PF and top Guard has not been as successful as the guard/center combo. Yeah, but Dwight isn't even close to the level of the previous centers in any of those combos, but if I need another example. Tim Hardaway and Alonzo Mourning. Both we're better than any PG or C that Jordan/Pippen had and that's what we'd become, the 90's Heat

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) Id imagine Hedo is amnestied the next season if he was a part of the trade. Honestly I think if it was available they'd do everything in their power to get Howard, minus trading Rose. Can't amnesty traded contracts.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) Wait what? I never said Howard was better than Malone, I said Malone didnt play Center, which is true. That being said, Howard has put up similar per as Malone through age 26. For perspective here is the 36 minute pers: Malone: 24/10/1 (points, rebounds, blocks) Howard: 18/13/3 Not that it matters, the point was Malone plays PF not C, so Howard and Malone arent really similar comparisons in how the game is played. Malone couldnt lock down Centers. You said Top 3 at their positions, so I posted the most comparable thing in recent memory. Only reason Shaq - Kobe/Wade isn't it is because Shaq is a universe better than Dwight.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) And hating on Cleveland. I don't know if Dwight is a better help defender. Dwight is by far the better man, post, and anchor defensively, but I might give help D to Noah.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) Howard would change the entire complexion of the Heat match up. The Heat have no one who can match Howard. Lebron couldnt guard Rose because theyd need Lebron helping on Howard in the paint. Malone/Stockton is slightly different, Malone was a beast, but he wasnt Howard. Its more like if you had Shaq/Kobe, Shaq/Wade, you know dominant Center and dominant Guard combos. In no world is Howard > Malone. Karl Malone is not only a world better offensively, he was still very good on D and could rebound. And the centers Malone had to go up against are worlds better than Dwight.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) Joel Anthony and Eddy Curry. I repeat. Joel Anthony and Eddy Curry. Dwight would go for 30/15 easily. Noah rotates on to LeBron and Wade really, really well.

Also, Dwight rags on his team and goofs around. He could actually be a clubhouse cancer. LeBron and Melo never did that s***. Basically, I'm saying I want to get the talent, but I'm not going to bid against myself considering all things.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) Does Noah's salary count completely under the new CBA or is it still 1/2 of his total salary like it was under the last CBA? The Wikipedia entry was unclear. As far as I know after he signed it it was a Poison Pill Contract, so not worth it's value. Now, I'm not sure. But fine then, $6M from Noah, $5M from Korver, $3M from Brewer. That's within 150% of Dwight's $18M.
