Fielder to Detroit 9 years $214million
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) They'll experiment with it. If he's horrendous, and he probably will be, they're not going to leave him there. As far as the deal overall? s***, this division is spoken for through at least 2014. I don't care what anybody says. We know what the Sox are. The Twins might actually be in worse shape than the Sox. The Royals still have no SP. The Indians are probably the one team you could make a non-silly sounding case for (i.e. Ubaldo reveting back to first-half 2010 form). We all know that they'll regret this when Prince is 31, 32, 33. But right now he's 27 and in his prime. I cannot ever remember a time where you had this many potential powerhouses in the AL at one time. The days of NY/Boston and everybody are long over with. Come on man, you know what happens when you call a team a powerhouse. Ironically, the Knicks have great offensive players and terrible D. It's all falling into place.

Fielder to Detroit 9 years $214million
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) BNightengale Bob Nightengale The #Tigers have now guaranteed $338 million for the upcoming years to three 1B/DH types in Fielder, Cabrera and Martinez. #MLB And that is baseball stupid. V-Mart injury or not, this is a stupid deal.

That D will be so horrendously bad. I honestly think that with Cabrera-Prince at the corners, it'll make it really hard for non-Verlanders to pitch over fielding mistakes. I don't like this move long term for Detroit. It might work for a year.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 12:16 PM) "First of all, we love football," Urlacher said in quotes obtained by the Chicago Tribune. "We want to be on the field as much as we can be. If we can be out there, it may be stupid, it may be dumb, call me dumb and stupid then, because I want to be on the football field." "If I have a concussion these days, I'm going to say something happened to my toe or knee just to get my bearings for a few plays," he told HBO, according to the Tribune. "I'm not going to sit in there and say I got a concussion. (Then) I can't go in there the rest of the game." http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...-lie-stay-field I think I have enough respect already for Brian, I really wouldnt want to have him eating out of a tube at 45. Yeah...concussions are no joke.

Peavy vs Ozzie
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) I'm disliked because I back Ozzie big time and back some of the players who are (were) hated. Like Jenks, Jermaine, Wise, Pods, Juan Pierre, CQ, etc. And I don't like Kenny and blast Rios and Dunn a lot. I also praise Rongey and Hawk and Cowley and am disliked for that as well. Jenks: Loved until he didn't come into the season in shape (Don't you hate Dunn for something like that?) Jermaine: ADORED. But there is a reason no one else offered him a deal. Wise: One. Good. Play. Pods: I f***ing love Pods, but he looked like a frightened antelope in the OF and he overestimated his market value twice (turning down Dodgers mutual option, asking the Sox for $7M per) Pierre: I'm cool with Juan Dog, but he started out abysmally slow each year, had less power than me, and played s***ty D last year. 2010 he was fine. CQ: No one hated. He was just a very streaky hitter who got injured a lot. Stop rewriting history to make you and Ozzie sound like some martyrs when all you two are is stubborn as hell.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) I'd like to say I hope This is a hoax, but even then that would be pretty sick. Campaign manager for a House candidate in Arkansas came home to find their cat killed with the word "liberal" written on it. I picked a link that didn't include te photo, and I wish I hadn't seen it myself. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 11:11 PM) Not sure where else to post this/wasn't sure if it was somewhere else yet. http://nymag.com/news/features/danny-chen-2012-1/ Both of these sicken me.

Sox still listening on Gavin
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 22, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) Dunn, Viciedo, Flowers, and maybe even Ian Gac I guess. Alexei has.....Eduardo Escobar. Besides a 1B is 100x easier to replace than a SS. No. Dunn is a DH. Viciedo IS IN RIGHT FIELD. NO MORE MOVING. Flowers is our only non-AJ catcher. Ian Gac? Eduardo Escobar and Tyler Kuhn make more sense than any of the four you said.
