  1. When it rains, it pours. My mom for some reason thought the hard drive needed air...and opened the bag a bit. There was some (not a lot) condensation, but the fact that I had it in a case inside of the bag may have saved it. I get the clicking noise. I'm done with the home-methods. I'll try finding that store in Orland tomorrow.
  2. Bulls get the 3rd seed and make the ECF and lose to the Heat in 7. Heat lose to Lakers in 6. Rose & Noah are All-Stars. Korver gets 6th man of the year
  3. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 07:40 PM) There's some service in Orland that does it for around $80 from what I heard. A cousin of mine had the same problem. Honestly though, try the frozen hard drive trick. Everyone tells me it works. Try it for about 12 hours. Hmmm, if you can give me the name of that Orland place I'd appreciate it a lot. The frozen hard drive trick got it going a little bit earlier, but I'm being told I need to format again...so back to the chill box.
  4. Asik is definitely hitting the rookie learning curve. Korver, JJ, Bogans looking good. Noah's passing is looking real good too. More thoughts: Omer isn't hitting the curve as bad as I thought. He'll make the garbage buckets but he'll be a Noah-esque rebounder. Korver and Bogans are deadly with the 3pt shot so far, and Deng's been good too. If Rose starts sinking 3's, then once Boozer comes back we'll have no real weakness as Bogans/Korver/Deng/Rose will have wide open looks. JJ and Weaver are even impressing and Weaver should make the cut over Lucas. Minutes are going to be an issue, but this team is so deep right now. Here's how I'd roll out the lineup right now (plus Boozer & Brewer). Rose-Watson Bogans-Korver-Weaver Deng-Brewer-Johnson Boozer-Gibson-Scalabrine Noah-Thomas-Asika
  5. Bogans may be a better role player than I thought. Deng is looking good this preseason. Rose didn't make a three, but his form looks better. JJ is still showing flashes of big talent...but not producing results. Once Booz is back though, Korver/Bogans/Deng should get lots of open looks from downtown. Also, Noah
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) If you got like 300 bucks and there's nothing better for you to do with it. If it means recovering all my files, I might have to bite the bullet. Just took HDD out of the freezer, lets see how this works.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) http://geeksaresexy.blogspot.com/2006/01/f...cover-data.html Not exactly the most foolproof or advanced method but there's enough people I've heard say it works for me to believe it. It's kind of a "what do you really have to lose" proposition, if you're lucky you might get the hard drive to spin just long enough to recover some data, if not, well your hard drive was f***ed before, and it's still f***ed. Otherwise you could pay a s***load of money to a professional to copy all the data the hard way. I've only ever had one HDD fail and it didn't work, I guess mine was pretty thorough when it killed itself. Just popped it in...if this works lost, I owe you five years of my life. I wish I had been able to recover the documents the most...oh god... Does anyone know if Best Buy can do some decent data recovery?
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 10:18 PM) Hard drive in the freezer sometimes works long enough to get the parts moving to copy the files onto another drive (if the drive isn't already completely f***ed) Wait, what?
  9. Oh god... My laptop stopped working, possibly due to a HDD error. So I took out my HDD and put it in my external hard drive, and now computers want me to format it to access it...all 4 years of work. Anyone know how to recover files?!
  10. I'll probably end up getting 2k11 since NBA Jam is sold separate. For those who made the Live to 2k jump, are the controls hard to adapt too?
  11. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 10:15 PM) This is why I think the Bulls could use another shooter. Korver is a stud (and even JJ surprised when he was playing smart) but Watson is below average, Bogans isn't really a shooter and Brewer, when he comes back, is bad from out there. Deng did surprise me. If he can hit around a 37% clip or so from downtown, the Bulls will be in better shape in the half court when Booz gets back as a low post/pick and pop and Brewer off screens and in transition in the open court with his athleticism, so Rose can operate. Korver really impressed me. JJ looked ok at times with his potential showing a bit more and heck I didn't even mind seeing Scal out there. Asik is fast for a 7-footer. Props to Deng for this game. I think Watson really needs to play with Rose to be most effective, but he'll be fine for a backup. The Bulls do need Booz back, but I did like what I saw today. If the Blazers are still going to trade Rudy, I'd off the Cats pick and maybe a second rounder. That would make the team complete.
  12. Add Pena (as a starter), Danks (depending on extension), and D2 (depending on D1)
  13. Boozer or no, it's nice to see basketball again.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) Agreed. If Wade gets hurt Lebron would still have more talent around him than he had in Cleveland where he took a team to the NBA finals and 60 plus wins the last two years. That was a different LeBron. That LeBron wanted to match Kobe/MJ and I don't know if that fire is still there. And he's had better talent every year since that Finals.
  15. I seriously would not feel bad if one of the Big Three got hurt. I really wouldn't. LeBron thinks people are racist, Wade uses his kids as marketing tools, and Bosh said he enjoyed playing with peoples emotions. I hope they get in a fist fight because LeBron thought Wade was racist after Bosh told LeBron to adopt Wade's kids. Something obscene like that.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) Alexei is pretty special with that leather, but they probbaly give it to Jeter just cause he's a Yankmee. Now Alexei might have a pretty good chance for the Silver Slugger though unless they give that to Jeter cause he's a Yankmee Far and away the best; leads in putouts, UZR, assists, double plays, double plays started, etc. If he had Jeter's "range" he'd have 1 error.
  17. So, I hear 2k11 supports the move? This intrigues me.
  18. QUOTE (3E8 @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Boyer is currently working on hiring a new organist Thank god.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) He was pretty decent at UNC. Very effectively on the alley-oop I just knew he was a PF, and he'd be doubly popular in Chicago.
  20. Peppers should play PF while Boozer is out.
