  1. QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) I'm sure the Marlins would do that in a heart beat haha In their case, top 50.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) Ben Gordon by himself made that comparison a sham. I could drop 20 on him. Seriously. Kind of. Yeah, but when you can't come close to dropping it on the other guys, it changes things up. BG was what made the offense work. And he was a clutch motherf***er.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) That '04 Pistons team is criminally underrated. They didn't have that one dominant star. But you could argue that had as many as 5 all-star caliber players (depending on how you view Prince). Plus their bench was pretty deep as well. They were kind of the exception, though. In this league, superstars rule. I remember ESPN talking about how the '07 Bulls could have been like that team. It's a shame they weren't.
  4. Aim for Alonso and Grandal. I'd die of joy.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) DKnobler DKnobler Teams are so convinced White Sox open for business that some asked about Sale, Alexei Ramirez. But price for either would be sky-high. For Sale I want another teams top 5 'spects.
  6. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) 1) And Deng is very similar to Young, a player they're not going to get rid of unless he gets an insane offer sheet. They also play Iggy at SF, they start Holiday and Meeks in the backcourt. They don't need another expensive wing player, they need to get bigs and/or save money. 2) I never said you pulled it out of your ass, I said it's highly unlikely. We've already heard that NO wouldn't do it for Rondo and that Paul wouldn't sign in Boston. That rumor lasted really long. 3/4) How does it prepare them for anything? Those pieces are all pretty terrible at the moment. The only way that turns out well is if they tank and hit in the lottery. Rondo/Brewer/George/Hansbrough/Asik would score about 50 points a game and outside of Rondo doesn't feature anyone that looks like a reasonable bet to be an All-Star in the future. Just because it's "been mentioned" doesn't mean it'll happen. I'm sure the Bulls are offering that and will likely get laughed at. Your scenario proposed not one but TWO deals that favor the Bulls by a fair amount, which is why it's highly unlikely. Touche. I thought you believed I made it all up.
  7. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) There are so many conditional things in there the odds of it happening are quite slim. -Why would Philly trade a better wing player that isn't significantly more expensive for Deng, especially when they also have Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner at the SF position? -The logistics of a Rondo/Paul/Pacers 3-team trade are crazy, and if Paul really won't re-sign in Boston that talk is done. -Granger is Indiana's best player and the Pacers haven't shown much interest rebuilding. If they were going to move him, they supposedly could have had Al Jefferson (who's only a year older than Asik and far better) last year. -That would be an absolutely awful team that you have the Pacers fielding in that scenario, and it's not like they'd be getting an amazing pick haul out of it. The Bobcat's pick is so heavily protected that it's going to either be a late lottery pick or they won't get it until 2016. I have to imagine they'd be able to get more than a heavily protected/late first, two mediocre veterans, a raw backup big man and a few seconds for a player of Granger's caliber. Why not throw in the Bulls trading Noah straight up for Dwight while you're at it? 1) Because Evan Turner and Iguodala are very similar, they want to free up space for Turner at the 2, and Doug Collins LOVES Deng. 2) That was thrown out there because Boston is looking into that exact deal. Didn't pull that out my ass. 3) Asik, Brewer, Bobcats Pick, and our first and saves money and lets them prepare for when the Heat/Bulls/Celtics/Knicks get older. If you're not one of those four or the Hawks in the East, things are bleak. 4) See above ^ And Noah for Dwight has never been mentioned. There have been Asik+ Pieces for Granger, Rondo to Pacers for Collison/Hibbert, those pieces + picks for Paul, and the Celtics wanting to pair Dwight/Paul rumors mentioned. So before you add that last bit, the only part I "made up" was Iguodala which is very plausible.
  8. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) Sergio was worse. And a rookie.
  9. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) I would say that's more true for other teams, not really the Bulls. The Central Division is god awful. The Bulls will walk to the playoffs regardless of who's on the bench. He could live with Iguodala.
  10. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) If you think Papelbon is bad, how can you think Santos is good? Cause Papelbon was super-bad two years ago.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) Steve done made a mess of another thread. someone get a mop rumors i have read today Bulls interested in Battier, Butler, TJ Ford Also rumor that Bulls are trying to get Granger for Asik and pieces QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) That would be amazingly awesome, but sounds ridiculously unlikely. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) agreed. One would have to think that would be a predecessor to Deng being moved if it happened Not necessarily. In Thibs' defensive system, SG and SF are interchangeable, so Granger could theoretically play the 2. But, if we were to obtain Granger, I'd see it as this package: Asik, Brewer, Bobcats pick/First and multiple 2nds, and Bogans (to make it in the cap). Now, the rumor is the Pacers want Rondo for Collison and Hibbert, so they might clear it out to make space for Rondo to be the star in a defensive lineup of Rondo-Brewer-George-Hansborough-Asik. The Celtics would flip Collison/Hibbert/Picks for Paul and try to sign Dwight with their remaining cap space. Then the Bulls have this starting five, Rose-Granger-Deng-Boozer-Noah. That's a good starting five, but Granger/Deng is a bit redundant. Now, one team has been interested in Deng in the past...the 76ers. A Deng for Iguodala swap could interest and benefit both teams, leaving us with... PG - Rose/Watson SG - Iguodala/Korver SF - Granger/Butler PF - Boozer/Gibson C - Noah/FA (Thomas?)

  13. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) Santos is closer to being Jesse Crain than he is to being Jonathon Papelbon. Cost-effective and good instead of overpaid and bad?
  14. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) That's simple Alex Rios to PittsBurgh for McCutchen and Jameson Taillon Jake Peavy to Rays for Jeremy Hellickson and Desmond Jennings Adam Dunn to royals for Eric Hosmer and Lorenzo Cain Gordon Beckham to the Blue Jays for Brett Lawrie All our problems are solved! I like this new Victory. Also, from Grantland. What They'll Likely Do: Make a hell of a lot of trades. Few GMs have been more aggressive in reshaping their ball clubs over the past few years than Kenny Williams. Rumors out of the South Side have him shopping one of his top starters (John Danks or Gavin Floyd) despite Buehrle's likely departure, while also dangling slugging right fielder and solid lefty setup man Matt Thornton.
  15. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Hey Mizzou fans, yall should definitely consider making the trip to Knoxville next Fall. 11/10. Mark it on your calendars. I'm game.
  16. So, Minnie's son asked my dad to write a letter arguing for his entrance into the Hall of Fame. Thank god my dad is good with words.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) The question that I am sure KW is struggling with is do you wait to see what they do in 2012? If they aren't performing I would argue that putting them on waivers in hopes someone makes the same move KW did with Rios might work. Or you start going through the team list offering them up in a trade. You might have to eat half the salary, but it's still only 50% of what you wil be paying to keep them on the team. Won't happen, as KW showed it's a bad gamble. Try again.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Someone from the Braves scouting department? Well, sign me up! f*** yes.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) Please tell me you won't feed into the perpetual student fantasies of firing every offensive coach. No, pretty much gave the Tigers Offense a C+ for KU game, D an A, gave them a B for the season overall, said they'll most likely go to the Holiday Bowl, MVP to Josey, and that they'll fare better then expected in the SEC next year if Josey returns, Franklin continues to grow, and they defy the odds and snag DGB.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) I know Mr Milkman only you have common sense. Well, you and a few others that share your feelings. If you want to make things personal then tell me something that has been suggested that isn't "common sense?" Anything you say and I say are opinions and only opinions. You have a knack for making comments that seem like atatcks on others who you disagree with. You would not do well in a debate. If the high priced non performer is dragging the team down then you get rid of them. Try to get something for them, or release them. You don't keep them on the team where they strangle you. I hoe these charactters meaning Rios and Dunn can turn things around in 2012. If not we had better be looking at some plan. Who do you propose will take these high paid nonperformers off our hands? And how? And why?
  21. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Intentional or unintentional? Unintentional
  22. I'd still take Roy, just don't play him heavy. We do have Brewer and Korver to relieve him plenty.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) Sorry got you and kyyle's list name switched. It's all good knight, you're doing this for everyone here's fun. I was just really, really confused.
