  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 01:24 AM) Considering Thome has been a successful hitter every single year since 1993 (except for when he was hurt in 2005) it was a safe bet Thome would be successful this year. And considering Crede clearly was having back problems it was very likely he wouldn't produce last year. We have other holes in our lineup but the biggest one is at DH where the only requirement for the position is being a good hitter. Instead we go with a below league average hitter, with no wheels, who can only play first base so he doesn't even give us flexibility or any production at the plate. Unbelievably dumb decision and plenty of people were saying that before the season began. And frankly it is hilarious that anyone would want to run out of town a guy who was arguably the Sox most productive hitter last year. My dad's response to all this was "What did they win with Jim Thome?" I struck back with: "What did they win with Nellie Fox? Luis Aparicio? (his two all time favorites and childhood heroes)" "An American League Pennant" "What about Fisk, Baines, or a full season of Frank?" "..."
  2. I'll sum up what everyone who posts in this threads thoughts will be; "f*** flexible DH's and Ozzie Ball"

    Kenny's been dying for a Chris Sale type pitcher for a long time...he's not going anywhere.
  5. Going tonight probably. Gonna where my Dayan shirt. Maybe he'll hit a bomb if he gets a chance.
  6. QUOTE (T R U @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 03:04 AM) I would assume he would throw 110 mph Steve Dalkowski
  7. Happy birthday you guys!
  8. We hear Stone talk nonstop about how Chris Sale should be happy to be getting MLB sized meals and bulk up...but what happens when/if he does. Could it negatively affect his delivery? Or could he (somehow) throw harder? If he threw harder he'd essentially be knocking on Chapman/Strasburg territory...though it will probably go down as a starter. But that's where the bulking up comes in. If he gets bigger, would he be able to keep his fastball where its at right now as a starter?
  9. Mark Buehrle has 14 career balks. 4 this year, 5 in his first full season.
  10. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 11:40 PM) Even the guy who does the video for mlb.com thinks it's a joke. The title of the video is "Phantom balk incenses Ozzie" Phantom balk incenses Ozzie

    QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) The last 5 days I have been getting home in about the 7th inning and I noticed that Hawk has not been on all this time. I'm sure that something was posted here as to what happened to him, but I wasn't sure where to look without going through multiple threads and hundreds of posts. Thanks! Death in the family

  18. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) There's a lot of college softball players that I'd love to slap their ass as I ride them from behind. ... I am confused by your posts in this thread.
