  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) He was offered a 3 yr/$63M offer. He turned it down, so the Yankees lowered their offer, and will probably continue to until Jeter realizes he isn't worth even half that. :lolhitting
  2. Magglio was my hero when I was little. That being said, f*** Maggs. I once saw him go to throw a baseball to a kid in 2008...only to fake a throw and run the ball in on the third out.
  3. When I was younger, Olivo had just been called up. At the game, a foul ball off Sandy Alomars bat hit me right in the stomach and a lady sitting next to me grabbed it for her grandkids (who weren't at the game). I met Olivo later at Grandstand and he signed my hat and I was happy .
  4. I can only see Gavin dealt if Danks doesn't sign and we get an impact bat in return.
  5. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 11:41 PM) You are right about this. Except he didn't turn it on at the end of the game like Brewer. One of them really has to go. I would kill to have Hinrich back. I miss Kirk.
  6. Danks D2 Infante Escobar Flowers? Any value for him still? And yes, I know Infante or Flowers becomes Santos or Viciedo in the real world.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) These complaints have been covered in 14.275 other threads... Also, screw Ricketts.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) Seriously, unless Jim Thome comes up to you right now and says that he is willing to play for $1.5-2 mill again, $5.5 mill plus incentives for one year of Manny Ramirez is absolutely worth it.
  9. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 04:59 PM) There's only 1 thing I wish they would've changed with the road grey uniform: change to cursive "Chicago" text on the chest to an old-style "CHICAGO" text in all capital letters like how the New York Yankees has "NEW YORK" and how the Cubs has "CHICAGO" as well. Cursive text really annoys me and it's the biggest reason why the road grey is my least favorite sox uniform. If it had the capital letters in an old-style format, similar to the Yankees and old Boston jersey, then I'd like it more and it'd be my 2nd-favorite behind the alternate black jersey but ahead of the home white jersey. I love the cursive text and actually hate old-style things. Different tastes I guess. Blacks are still my favorite...no changing them.
  10. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 01:10 AM) I like the committee idea if Sale is in there. Sale, Santos, Putz and Thornton is not a typical "closer by committee" that blows up in a team's face. It's formidable. Are the Sox going to give another bullpen spot to a young farm guy? I could see Gregory Infante getting a vacated bullpen spot if he gets more control. I could also see Kyle Bellamy or Charlie Leesman in the BP at some point this year (Leesman especially if Sale switches to starter for someone)
  11. QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) last 2 or 3 episodes of boardwalk empire have been fantastic IMO I need to get caught up, but the series as a whole has been outstanding.
  12. Hell, god awful is an understatement.
  13. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 06:25 PM) The Sox IIRC offered Fields, Danks, Gio, and Sweeney. It was weaker at the time, but in hindsight that offer absolutely obliterates anything the Tigers offered. I was kind of hoping the Sox would have made a run at Maybin, but if the price was decent pen arms then I'm glad he didn't. Maybin here would have had to earn a starting job, and even with Bobby and Putz being FA this year, the bullpen is still a huge strength for us and I wouldn't want to see that depth depleted for a project who likely would have been a 4th OF. Next thing we know, Stanton will fizz out and Ozzie will be the best manager of all time. Hindsight sucks for the Marlins.
  14. So, in NBA 2k11, Rose to Korver for 3 is money almost every time.
  15. Chances Brett Favre gets a mysterious injury after today?
  16. Devin's remembered how to run wild this year.
  17. I like it. When healthy, he's dominant. It was when the injuries flared up last year that he faltered.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 06:46 PM) I'm on the White Sox official Facebook page attempting to explain why Alexei's defense was fantastic to the baseball retarded. He had 20 errors? Yeah ok but his range means that he had 215 more playable balls than the Gold Glove winner and he had 249 putouts instead of 182. This is pretty basic stuff I'd think BUT JETER ONLY HAD 6 ERRORS. HE IS AMAZING.
  19. Best part of the Fan Up! bullcrap is that they fired their ticket sales team because they didn't need them.
