  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 02:37 AM) I thought it was pretty awesome. Obviously not going to be as "smart" as Daily Show and Colbert Report, but I really enjoyed it. Only thing I found not funny was the retired NFL stars escaping. That was a little overdone, but the NBA rule changes, Shaq having heart attack, Meth olympics, Pujols keys to city, and everything else was really funny in my opinion. Maybe I'm the only one, but I've been a huge fan of The Onion and their website for years now. Their most recent "strong side/weak side" on Cam Newton was amazing. http://www.onionsportsnetwork.com/articles/cam-newton,18754/ Oh, I love the Onion itself. But I'm just not sure it works in a TV format. Shaq heart attack was funny, NBA rule change to, but after that it was 'meh'. Maybe be like the SportsPickle/Page2. Highlight hilarious athlete tweets and just ludicrous stories in general.
  2. I just want Omer to posterize his ass next game.
  3. Bosh complaining about Omer. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/mia...tory?id=6024810
  4. David Schuester said that Boozer left the building in a walking boot. f***ing s***.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) He actually makes a pretty reasonable argument. Basic points: Rose > Rondo Rose is the PG to build a franchise around if you're starting from scratch Rondo fits Boston's specific needs better than Rose does But the fact that the notion is even there is idiotic. Compare them, fine. But don't make it seem like the Celtics are struggling with this decision. I know he says the Bulls wouldn't trade Rose, but that destroys the entire basis of the article.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 04:30 PM) If Jake Peavy is only worth $10 million in the fangraphs numbers, it could well be hard for the Sox to win this year, just like last year. You get the 2007 Peavy last year and the Sox are right in it. Instead, they spend a lot of money and didn't get their money's worth. If we get 07 Peavy then the Sox walk away with the Central.
  7. http://www.nesn.com/2011/01/celtics-still-...ason-aside.html THAT IS AN ACTUAL ARTICLE.
  8. It needs to cover things like this: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-march-29-2010/snowball Let the comedy write itself.
  9. Karma's a b****. All reports point to LeBron likely sitting.
  10. Ok, who else watched this? It just...was not funny. Unlike the The Daily Show...they make up too much to be funny.
  11. Also confirmed: Sale will be in bullpen.
  12. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 06:47 AM) Can't remember what Affalo's contract situation is like, but I think he's cheap and Denver want to build around young cheap talented players when they deal Carmelo (Kroenke wants the hard salary cap brought in also FWIW). More likely to deal J.R Smith, who blew up tonight offensively BTW I would have thought. He's a RFA after this season. I want the Melo deal to go through, because it seems with either Nets or Knicks they get another SG, meaning they'd need to dump one. That's where the Bulls come a knockin'.
  13. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Wow, you really have a big man crush on that guy don't you? J4L doesn't have a man crush on CarGo at all.
  14. I don't think VZW speed will be hit THAT hard. It's already a huge network with tons of smartphones. That being said, I love my DroidX.
  15. Uribe and the Double-Tag not on there is crap.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) Not NBA, but I always thought this was the most amazing 10 seconds of dunks I've ever seen. Fun in retrospect seeing him on that court.
  17. LeBron is now day-to-day after rolling (rather painfully looking) his ankle. Karma heard him and was like "Oh, yeah. Forgot! I'M COMIN' BRON!" And it was against the Clippers, a team he led on during free agency, after he attacked the Cavs. The next two games are against the Nuggets (who he hurt inadvertently by making Melo jealous of the Superfriends) and the Bulls (see Clippers). Will karma strike? Hopefully in the form of a James Johnson roundhouse kick?
  18. My first memory is sitting in the Lower Deck in 1994 and watching Frank Thomas hit a long, long home run. I was amazed. That's why I love baseball.
  19. For those who didn't see Jon Stewart's take...it was good and relates to this thread. The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Mon - Thurs 11p / 10c Arizona Shootings Reaction www.thedailyshow.com Daily Show Full Episodes Political Humor & Satire Blog The Daily Show on Facebook Also, Obama's speech right now is just the right thing.
  20. Pertaining to Paulie: Only way he'd get in is if he strings together 2010 repeats over the life of his current contract. I love Paulie, but if that doesn't happen he definitely won't get in.
  21. Yes. This deal makes complete sense for us.
