  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:17 AM) As can Delonte West... and his still being in Cleveland is reason #829 why LBJ needs to GTFO. Awesome.

    Carlossal?

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:23 AM) God, picturing Quentin in their silly looking cartoon uniform, that's hilarious "What the hell is this blue? I only can wear black. Like my deep, seething anger."
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:05 AM) Ummm....the Twins actually added some pieces last year, like Orlando Cabrera, Jon Rauch, Ron Mahay and Carl Pavano. We might have upstaged them in the PR battle with the controversial Rios move (everyone thought KW was crazy crazy!!) and Peavy (although Richard has turned out to be an NL All-Star, nearly). Thats what I meant. Kenny likes to make PR moves (I still can't think of how the Griffey trade would have made sense otherwise) and last year how he completely upstaged O-Cab and Washburn.

    Merry witemas

    Happy birthday man
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 05:47 AM) I'm not sure if I purposefully avoid the news, but I do come here first, and I do enjoy the build-up. I value this community above all others, so naturally, this is where I come for all my sports news. This. I come to SoxTalk for 99% of my sports news. Also, Toronto needs to look at what they could gain in a sign and trade: From Bulls they could get: Luol Deng/Taj Gibson/Bobcats First Rounder or Taj/Pick/Massive Trade Exception From Heat: Beasley/Chalmers/Anthony/Trade Exception It's that or nothing, and a trade exception that big could be helpful.
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 11:31 PM) I seriously wouldn't doubt it if KW is targeting Cliff Lee as his number 1 target with a deal involving John Danks, Dayan Viceado, Tyler Flowers, and company. 2 reasons - 1.) you keep him away from the twins 2.) if you can sign Lee to an extention - it negates not having Danks locked up / losing Danks I sure would love me some Cliff Lee action. Then he could find some offensive help that isn't a crazy bat like Dunn or Fielder but someone that should only yeild a B or C level prospect. If I'm KW - I'm doing EVERYTHING in my power to sell the farm on Lee and get a deal consumated for an extention. Don't wake me up... It's nice dreaming question thou: if your Seattle - does a package of Danks/Dayan/Flowers/etc excite you more than what the twins could offer? I don't know about their farm system I'm pretty sure that package could get almost anyone in the bigs.
  7. Kenny will have a better hand then the Twins. He upstaged them last year.
  8. Floyd Kong TCQ Lillibadass Santos Winning
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) blackberries will own all in speed and accuracy though, touch screens cant keep up with a good old fashioned BB keyboard. Just throwing it out there: I love my storms virtu-touch keyboard.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) His power numbers will also increase here in Chicago. Mark Teahen.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) I feel that Ozzie does some great managing in the playoff type situations. He hardly made a false move in 2005, although one could argue that it would have been difficult to make a managerial mistake with that team. However, it does seem that he puts the right lineup out there and tends to use his pitchers more effectively when the season is on the line. Why he doesn't do that on a daily basis is beyond me. This and Ozzie's willingness to defend players. Also, I'm biased.
  12. Lets beat the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Southern California of The West Coast of the United States of America.
  13. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 12:48 AM) Wow. At the beginning of the season, who would have thought this would actually be part of the discussion on this board? The writers of Space Jam.
  14. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) It's time we give Lillibridge the chance to play every day at second base. This. Gordon still needs to figure things out in AAA.
  15. Paulie is getting in. This is how bored I am.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) LOVE IT. I think Lillibridge tricked Gordo somehow and their talents were somehow switched in some cruel twist of fate... The Nerdlucks are at it again...
  17. Happy Birthday! To celebrate your guys' birthday, we've arranged for the entire nation to launch fireworks.
  18. Wow. Ortiz over Youk and Paulie and all the reserve OF over Rios is idiocy. Edit: Votto may be the biggest snub ever.
  19. QUOTE (StatManDu @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 01:03 AM) It’s no July 1st but the White Sox have had their share of memorable moments on Independence Day. Here is a countdown of the White Sox Top 10 July 4th moments: 10. In 1988, Mark “The Chief” Salas went 3-for-3 with a homer and two runs scored to lead the White Sox past the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 before 16,457 at Comiskey Park. 9. In 1964, Gary Peters outdueled Sam McDowell in the White Sox 4-0 win over Cleveland before 12,161 at Comiskey Park. Peters went the distance and gave up three hits and four walks with eight strikeouts in improving to 9-3. McDowell struck out 12 but he walked 11. This was the Sox first shutout on Independence Day since a 13-0 drubbing of the Browns in St. Louis in the first game of a doubleheader in 1953. 8. In 1967, Tommy John celebrated the Fourth of July with a sensational outing in the first-place White Sox 4-0 win before 25,613 at Comiskey Park. John gave up two hits -- both to Luis Aparicio -- in facing just two over the minimum to post his fourth shutout in five starts. 7. In 1972, Ed Herrmann tied big league record for catchers with three double plays in a nine-inning game in the White Sox 2-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles before 26,105 at Comiskey Park. Herrmann equaled the mark by throwing out three would-be stealers following strikeouts. 6. In 2000, Ray Durham and Jose Valentin started the White Sox game at Kansas City with consecutive home runs. It marked the first time the Sox had accomplished the feat since Boze Berger and Mike Kreevich did it on Sept. 2, 1937 against Boston. The White Sox wound up losing to the Royals 10-7. 5. In 2005, Jermaine Dye’s first-inning grand slam and six RBIs powered the future World Champion White Sox to a 10-8 win over Tampa Bay before 37,351 at US Cellular Field. Dye’s slam came right after Paul Konerko gave the lead for good with an RBI single. 4. In 2006, Jose Contreras extended his club record winning streak to 17 in the White Sox 13-0 win over Baltimore at U.S. Cellular Field. Contreras earned the win with 6.2 scoreless innings. The streak would end 13 days later against the Yankees. 3. In 1928, future Hall of Famer Ray Schalk played and managed his last game for the White Sox. Schalk resigned as White Sox manager effective at the end of this day’s doubleheader against St. Louis at Comiskey Park. Schalk, who would be replaced by Lena Blackburne, started himself at catcher in the 11-8 loss in Game 1 and caught Ed Walsh, the son of the Sox legend who was making his big league debut. That made Schalk the only backstop to catch a father and a son in a big league game. Walsh gave up five runs in four innings and left the game with Schalk, who delivered an RBI single in his final game in Sox yarns. 2. In 1911, the legendary Ed Walsh halted Ty Cobb’s 40-game hitting streak in the White Sox 7-3 win at Detroit in the first game of a doubleheader. 1. In 1977, Oscar Gamble hit the White Sox first indoor home run in a 6-2 win over the Mariners at the Seattle Kingdome. Gamble’s blast came in the sixth off John Montague in the Sox first official game indoors. Gamble’s dinger was followed by a Jim Spencer homer. Ralph Garr homered in the eighth as the first place White Sox won for the fifth straight time. I was at that game and being that I wasn't a superfan yet (only 12, so, give me a break) so I was confused by how many people were there.
  20. Buehrle likes to mess with Texas.
  21. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) if i was the brewers - id say danks + hudson for fielder and some AA pitcher I wouldn't do Danks + Hudson. Maybe Floyd + Hudson, but definitely not Danks + a top prospect
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) Now I am getting all confused by you fools.
