To put the Cavs in a baseball perspective, while every other team is swinging for the fences at 100 mph fastballs (the FA's), Cleveland is hoping that these Strasburg fastballs turn into a walk.

How do you get a Cryptic message about Josh Childress to Celtics?

ESPN is gushing over how amazing the Bulls could be.

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:45 PM) um, do you mean if it guaranteed you LEBRON? of course it would guarantee you bosh, that's a no-brainer and would be the point of sending noah there in the first place.. sign and trade for Bosh if it guaranteed you lebron, you'd be a fool to say no This, but otherwise, nay. Noah is the perfect compliment to a Bosh/Amare Also, ESPN just kinda showed why the Big 3 wouldn't work in Miami. 11.8K left to spend after getting them?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:02 PM) To those who still don't think Cubs fans would erect a statue for Pods for his home run in the WS had he done it for the Cubs: I go to the Sun Times site and there is a story on there today about the 1969 Cubs reliving some incident in a game in July. "On July 8, 1969, the first-place Cubs and Fergie Jenkins were leading the Mets 3-1 in the ninth inning at Shea Stadium when Young misplayed one fly ball into a double and had another fly ball fall out of his glove as he raced back to the wall. The Mets scored three runs and won 4-3. It was the Cubs' fourth straight loss and the Mets' fifth straight win to get them within 4 1/2 games of first place. The Cubs were feeling the heat and Santo, the team captain, didn't help when he publicly criticized Young for -- ironically -- letting his emotions and his offensive struggles get the best of him. "He was thinking of himself, not the team," Santo told reporters after the game. "He had a bad day at the plate, and he's got his head down. Don's a major-league player because of his glove. When he hits, it's a dividend, but when he fails on defense, he's lost -- and today he took us down with him. He put his head between his legs."" My god. Cub fans still going over every little detail in what turned out to be a horrible season five decades ago and Sox fans are supposed to bury some of their own from a team that won it all five years ago?? The criticism of Pods on here is insane. Some think I should forget 05 when Cub fans are still obsessing over a team that sucked back in 1969????? Where's the logic people? We don't want you to be like Cubs fans.

It has begun.

This is better then if LeBron signed with the White Sox. Friends take on the situation.

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) I expect this team to continue it's struggles against Kansas City and Cleveland for the remainder of the year So we just have to defeat The Twigers?

I [insert term of affection] [Mark Kotsay/Omar Vizquel/Vet Bench Players] because they are the greatest ever at [Grinding in to DP's/Bunting/Other Grindy Things].

At least the Sox have nearly come back in their last 3 losses. In the past they would have laid down.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) This is why I love Bill Simmons. Bill Simmons is awesome

At least we learned Frodo enjoys being on the roster. Screw Jose Guillen.

Come on Tank!

Darn you Mark Kotsay.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) Lots of kids grow up with f***ed up families... but not a lot of kids grow up with all the money they will have. I don't feel sorry one bit. I said most sorry, so out of Elin, Tiger, and the kids, the only ones with a shred of sympathy from me are the kids.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) When you factor in defense (he's throw out 52% of attempted base stealers this year), there hasn't been a better all-around catcher in baseball. I must now find my Miguel Olivo signed hat.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:23 PM) If a team is fully under the cap to the point that they can afford Bosh's contract, can't the team deal Bosh straight up for a draft pick and just absorb the cap hit? Toronto doesn't have to take salary back. I don't think the Raptors have room without Bird Rights and they would want SOMETHING in return.
-
QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) It's not their options though they don't decide Chris Bosh does and they take what they can get from where he wants to go. Well no, those are the options if Bosh wants max money.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Viciedo 2 days in a row?!?! Rejoice! Holy ****! QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) He'll go 0-4 against Grienke and Ozzie will never play him again. Or, he'll go 4-4 with 4 HR and 16 RBI's. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) I want Jones to DH while using Lillibridge as his bat.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) Brendan Haywood. Though I really don't see how Toronto has the leverage to demand anything, their options are basically take whatever they can get or let him walk. Their options really become: Lakers -Bynum Heat - Beasley, Chalmers, Anthony Knicks - Eddy Curry (ahahahahahahaha) Bulls - Deng, Taj Throw in picks where needed.
