  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) I'd rather have Lucy anyway. Neither is likely to hit worth a damn, but Lucy can throw out runners, handles pitchers well, and brings some athleticism. This. If Castro had anything resembling a bat, maybe I'd like him, but he doesn't, and the team likes Lucy.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) We should take Quentin out of the outfield completely. He's DH material. He's now slow and his arm doesn't seem to be as accurate or strong as it was a couple of years ago. But he'll go crazy!
  3. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 07:02 PM) to me i think the coach was trying to make it seem like hardy pulled up or something the way he was positioned He was looking directly at Teahen and posing as a base runner, so yes, he was being pretty low class.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 07:02 PM) The way the Bulls have been most of the year, its probably better they have playoff teams. If it was two matchups vs. the Nets, they would blow it. Plus, the Celtics and Bobcats are both beatable, while Toronto has no Bosh.
  5. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) The way I first read this, it was like we had two Tobys and the backup one got hurt First base Toby got hurt, Catcher Toby didn't.
  6. Good first half for the Bulls, but Toronto has been a House of Horrors for them, so hopefully they keep it up in the next half. Edit: Turgoklu complained way to long for that foul And Bargnani had a monster block on rose, but it worked out in the end.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Bill Simmons says: Silly Nantz
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) Did I see that right Haeger had 12 K's? I really liked Haeger when he was here, nice to see him doing well.
  9. Well, heck, if they love Lucy so much, if Castro doesn't improve, keep Lucy around.
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) Paulie's off to a heck of a start. I guess rumors of his decline were greatly exaggerated. As long as he stays healthy, I think he can produce .280-30 HR-100 RBI easily.
  11. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) Couldn't tell if he sent him, but I did see one interesting thing on the replay. Just after Hardy rounded third, and Teahen turned to look at home plate, the third base coach JUMPED INTO FAIR TERRITORY, right at third base. It honestly looked like he was trying to trick Teahen into thinking that he was the runner. Yea, that wasn't shady at all. Is there a rule against managers in fair territory during plays?
  12. Chapman went 4 1/3 innings, 0 ER, 9 K's. How long before he's called up?
  13. Tomorrow, the Jays shall be defeated.
  14. FWIW, I'd rather take Pods over Slappy right now. Isn't he cheaper at the moment too?
  15. Buehrle still in? I thought they would have pulled him. Ozzie wants him to get that win.
  16. I can totally tell why we dislike having Home Runs. In other news, I love Gordon Beckham.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Teahen's OBP - .353. Gotta like that since he has a .083 average. He's walking at least. Once he starts hitting, he'll be nice to have. And as I say that, he grounds out.
  18. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) Your post is completely off-topic and doesn't discuss the poll question at all. I joked about it in like the third post of thread, but I needed to reiterate that point.
  19. I love how Vinny realized his mistake in putting in Noah too long, and now he's in trouble for trying to protect him. Give me a f***ing break.
  20. I'm in love with Sergio. I was actually trying to find a Sergio shirt. They understandably don't sell them.
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) I disagree that Walker is a poor hitting coach. His philosophy is good (use all fields and be patient) the problem is that most players dont listen to hitting coaches. Beckham already uses the field, what Walker can help him with his how pitchers are going to attack him, etc. Everyone who has worked with Walker has nothing but good to great things to say. The only people who seem to dislike him are people on this site who for no reason believe Walker teaches "lift and pull." This. Walker coached a powerful offense in 2006 (My god, if I could combine that offense with this pitching staff, we're looking at some insane win total). Rios & Konerko listen to Walker, they hit it hard. Dye became an offensive power when he came to Chicago. This is why a good Alexei is needed and an Adrian Gonzalez is wanted. If Pierre could just get on base, then you could have Alexei get him over if Alexei could draw a walk or bunt, but he can't for god knows why. Then you have Gonzalez, who you must pitch to because Quentin's behind him, and then Konerko, followed by Rios or Beckham. You have to pitch to them, but right now, teams don't have to worry about Gordon because he's stuck advancing Pierre, and Konerko has Mark Kotsay behind him.
