Adrian Gonzalez
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) IIRC you can't PTBNL Mitchell until Mid-December at the earliest. Dang it. For some reason, I feel he's more enticing then D2, and that they'd love him. Darn this no trading picks till one year later thing.

So lets say it becomes a Sox Duel, the White variety could offer: Hudson Torres Flowers Viciedo Retherford PTBNL (Mitchell) The Pads fill their holes at 2nd, Catcher, 2 pitching spots, a first basemen (fill AGon void), and CF. The reason Mitchell is PTBNL is because I really, really, don't want to give up D2. Red could offer: Bucholz Bard and I have no idea who else is in there system

Curtis Granderson Anyone
QUOTE (buckweaver @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 05:09 PM) A brush with Granderson story to share: When he was a AAA player in the Detroit system, he was an instructor for a kids' winter baseball camp in Libertyville; my son attended. Not only was he a terrific teacher, but a great role model. He wore his Tigers uniform, stayed late to talk with the kids and signed autographs for all who asked. We've continued to follow his career since then and have delighted in his success (except against the Sox). I don't see how the Sox could pull of a deal for him, but what an addition he'd be. I just found out recently my brother played on the same field as him in HS, since Granderson's high school is in the same conference as mine. That aside, I'd love to get Granderson.

Noah being left off the All-Star ballot is kinda ridiculous. Anyway, heres an ESPN sponsored blog about why Noah is the 3rd best center in the NBA so far this year. http://bullsbythehorns.com/?p=1324

Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 09:41 AM) "s*** storm" to me is them making a big deal out of it because it was such an obvious mistake. The majority of their coverage had to do with the Cavs losing a 2nd game at home 2 weeks into the season (when it took them the entire season to lose 2 last year), not what an awful call it was. I just remember interviews about why he felt cheated on the call, Mike Brown saying the rules need to be re-read, etc. Hence, if he made THAT shot and it was overturned, media goes crazy. Also, the rules state it to be .1 seconds left for there to be no shot, we had triple the time.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 12:29 AM) Tough break for the Bulls tonight, I wonder if it was more a superstar player than Brad Miller if they would have gotten the call then. God knows if it was LeBron, there'd probably be a whole ESPN Sportscenter newshour dedicated to it or something. I imagine LeBron not getting the call and the epic ****storm that would result.

Adrian Gonzalez
My friend and are arguing over this, since he said that we'd have no arms left in the system, and then he proposed this: Try to get Poreda as a throw in in the deal, since he didn't uber-suck here. I don't think Pads would do it, but who knows?

Sox GM Meetings
Ok, I missed the party But I'll just break it down: Halladay is a pipe dream, but that'd be one hell of an interesting rotation. Seriously, when you have five all-star caliber pitchers on a staff, that's crazy. So crazy it won't happen. Gonzalez I jump at any chance I get that doesn't take anyone off the 25 man roster (other than Nix and some BP guys) or Danks. I'd have him and Paulie platoon the DH and 1B spots. Kenny having this much faith in D2 is interesting, I honestly won't be shocked if D2 was our starting CF or RF. I'd like to see otherwise, but if that happens, I pray he pulls a Gordon. Don't know about Vlad, I like him, but he's old and past his prime, and it defeats the "young, fast, athletic" mentality. However, I think the best thing to happen would Jerry getting whacked out on some drug and giving us a payroll to match the Yankees, allowing us to buy Halladay, Gonzalez, Crawford. No team would ever match that ferocity. Or it's unlikeliness.

Sox 2010 DH
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 07:54 PM) I wouldn't oppose a guy like Hideki Matsui being our DH. The dude is pretty clutch and they could play this song when he comes up to bat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6rDWqjnW7w I wouldn't mind that, since Matsui is good and that's great batting music. Then again, Lillibridge had far-and-away the best batting music, so...

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 05:48 PM) Hell of a long shot regardless.. but just to have everyone's pants creamed alittle.. From Vercey and the NY Post. I'd much rather have Wade. My brother and I talked about this, and how passing His Airness' statue would do the following to people: Kobe: Push him to accept the challenge Wade: Find in an honor LeBron: Be pressured and eventually whine about it. Also, small annoyance, you play a 3 forward rotation then, since Deng is untradeable (if he plays bad, he'd get shopped, if he plays well, they'll keep him and let Salmons walk).

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 01:45 AM) Agreed. D2 is good, and I'm also a fan of the classic 'Jordie' I'm gonna agree here, D2 is probably the best nickname.

Sox prospect wins the Cross City AFL League Prospect Classic. Also, D2 needs a new number since Quentin's got 20. I say he should get 52, since its 50 + 2

Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
God I'm hating the Cavs more and more. They complain that the refs didn't bend the rules for them on the last play even though the refs gave them calls all game when they shouldn't have. This coupled with the LeBron leaving the court without shaking the Magics hand makes them one of the least classiest teams in the NBA.

Sox acquire Mark Teahen, $$$ for Getz/Fields
I dislike Teahen starting unless he becomes a monster at the Cell. And this makes the leadoff spot all the more confusing...

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) If I remember correctly, the foul Shaq committed on Gibson wasn't even a shooting foul. Shaq shoved him out of bounds when he was about to go up for a shot. WTF? He's letting out anger after Oscar De La Hoya beat him in boxing.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) lebron with the "what the hell, i'm lebron james how is that not a foul" look on his face....great D by noah The superstar treatment only works so many times. LeBron used it when he traveled and got a foul called on Kirk. Shaq used it when he pounced on Gibson and then stared at him as if he were an appetizing meal about ot be consumed.
