  1. I think if anything, he's just bummed about replacing his two best friends on the team. First it was Fields and now Getz.
  2. I'm all for Thome, if we get a really good RF/LF and don't need Thome to be the monster RBI guy.
  3. God I'm hating the Cavs more and more. They complain that the refs didn't bend the rules for them on the last play even though the refs gave them calls all game when they shouldn't have. This coupled with the LeBron leaving the court without shaking the Magics hand makes them one of the least classiest teams in the NBA.
  4. I dislike Teahen starting unless he becomes a monster at the Cell. And this makes the leadoff spot all the more confusing...
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) If I remember correctly, the foul Shaq committed on Gibson wasn't even a shooting foul. Shaq shoved him out of bounds when he was about to go up for a shot. WTF? He's letting out anger after Oscar De La Hoya beat him in boxing.
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) lebron with the "what the hell, i'm lebron james how is that not a foul" look on his face....great D by noah The superstar treatment only works so many times. LeBron used it when he traveled and got a foul called on Kirk. Shaq used it when he pounced on Gibson and then stared at him as if he were an appetizing meal about ot be consumed.
  7. Now with a hole at 2B, I see us signing Orlando Hudson, so leaving Alexei and Beckham where they are.
  8. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) If anyone thinks this is even close to enough for Gonzalez you're crazy. The Padres would laugh and hang up if Kenny proposed this. For the Sox to have any chance, they'd have to build a deal around either Beckham or perhaps Danks or Floyd. Then maybe add in Hudson and a few other prospects. I don't think you need to deal Danks, Floyd or Beckham. That being said, if you don't include them, you need to gut the farm and give up something like: Flowers Hudson Torres Nix Viciedo Hynick Shelby/D2 (like I've said before, I try my hardest to hold onto D2, but if he's the deal breaker, he goes)
  9. I found out about this during school when i got a text message about it. I loved Getz, but was not opposed to dealing him...for a good player. I hate this deal if Teahen becomes our everyday RF. I'd much rather have Kotsay play RF then Teahen. However, I love this deal if the following happens: Orlando Hudson/Chone Figgins signed and INF shuffled accordingly. We get another OF, whether thats Pods resigning, Crawford via trade, I don't want Teahen starting, which means he would probably take Nix's roster spot.
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 10:41 PM) Well Nike already said they had no plans in adding UCF to their roster since they already have Miami, FSU and UF but I wonder if Jordan will talk them into adding UCF now. I could see it now. *Michael walks in* Nike: Look, Michael, we already said no since we have so many other schools under contract. MJ: But it's my shoe, and my son. I am not afraid to publicly denounce Nikes. I'm not afraid to denounce anyone. *UCF gets Nike deal*
  11. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 07:29 PM) I dont even know how to respond to this... You wouldnt trade Konerko or Garcia to get pieces for Gonzalez!? Or Jenks? Bobby and Freddy were included because the Padres wouldn't take them. And I wouldn't trade Paulie for anything, just because he's Paulie.
  12. I'd trade anyone in the Sox system not named: Beckham Konerko Pierzynski Danks (I & II) Floyd Peavy Garcia Buehrle Quentin Rios (I'd trade him for AGon, but they wouldn't want him) Thornton Jenks So if they wanted anything from Nix-Flowers-Hudson-Retherford-Torres-Morel-(anyone) I'd do it.
  13. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) I think there's even a huge open lot right there across from ITT. Best place to park ever.
  14. So, contrary to the normal 'roids effects, A-Rods made his balls bigger apparently.
  15. What should we call it now? My vote would be Sox Square.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 1, 2009 -> 11:43 AM) To be fair, Paul Konerko hit 18 home runs in 2003, and Scott Podsednik stole 12 bases in both 2007 and 2008. Given 600 PAs, it's not impossible that Jayson Nix could hit 18 homers and steal 12 bases, given that he hit 12 homers and stole 10 bases in 290 PAs. Seriously though, I don't understand Nix being a starter. I love him as a bench player, but I remember at a game I went to with my brother, his friend works for the Sox and desperately wants the Sox to sell Nix while he has high value.
  17. I say we give the Braves Lillibridge and Linebrink for Javy The reason Javy probably doesn't stick anywhere is because he's horrendous in pressure sitatutions, but is pretty darn good any other time, as well as being well priced.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 1, 2009 -> 06:46 AM) so basically the cubs are saying "Take bradley and his contract, plus pay the difference in the contract split in half(43 million)"? I cant see the Blue Jays going for that, they dont have a lot of money to be just throwing around They Jay's save money, because they basically combine Wells and Bradley's terrible contracts and split it.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 11:39 AM) I have to ask...am I the only one who remembers all the times at the end of games where they'd draw up an iso play for Gordon, he'd get trapped/double teamed because everyone knew who would get the ball, throw up a prayer, and make like 20% of them? I loved Ben as much as the next guy, but I remember Ben being much worse then this prolific unstoppable force the Chicago media has made him out to be since he left.
  20. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 10:16 AM) I am too. If there's a way to improve the infielder and outfielder D without giving up starting pitcher I'm all for it. 1) Alexei and Jenks for Ellsbury, Bard, Okajima gets you an improved outfield D (at least over Pods/Dye). Move Beckham to short and sign Figgins for third. 2) Flowers + 1 or 2 Good Prospects for Crawford, then let Getz/Alexei/Beckham get another year under their belts at their positions. The Starting Rotation should be left intact for now.
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) Can you ask him how tall he is? He's a Broncos fan >. But he also dislikes Yankees, so win.
  22. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) The fact Karkovice and Durham are mentioned anywhere near an all-time home run list is just sad. Yes, but Frank, Harold, Konerko, Dye, Thome is an impressive group on a list.
