Dude's gonna have 30 before getting called up, dear lord
  2. Grant Taylor is scary.
  3. TEAM ITALY SNUB ANDREW BENINTENDI
  4. That was some beer league softball s%*# and I love it.
  5. Fucking ow.
  6. Ray Ray is right. It's the mock vs. the Big Board. He has the Sox passing on Roch in the mock, but has him as his #1 player.
  7. I also think the fact that it's been Roch vs. LeBron, Roch vs. Emerson, Roch vs. Lackey, Roch vs. etc. all year instead of the field against each other is indicative of his status.
  8. Notice that no one is upset that Benintendi didn't play for Italy this past year. Edit: Except my mom that loves all Italian American ballplayers, including Benintendi.
  9. Somehow Oldsox busting out blood quantum isn't shocking to me. Like, I qualify for Italian citizenship because I have an unbroken line of Italian ancestry (with ancestors born in Italy). If I played ball, I could play for them based on that. Going by "blood," I'm at 50% through my mom. Any kid I would have would be 25% because my wife is German/Irish. He's trying to help grow baseball in the country where his family is from (which several Team Italy players stated) so that one day it is Team Italy instead of Team Italian Americans + A few Italians, Canadians and a Venezuelan.
  10. The fact that this 7'4" monster's best play wasn't anything tied to defense or his ability to control the paint, but instead was a logo three with 20 seconds on the clock that silenced an entire area, speaks volumes. Dude is terrifying for the league.

I agree with the Ben Zobrist approach. Assuming everyone keeps hitting, the only two players I think cause a problem for Meidroth at second would be Carlson or Roch (by either playing second or moving Colson elsewhere).
  12. Now add Braden, Gonzo and Reel to the lineup. Absolute launching pad.
  13. Why do you think he's a dirt expert?
  14. With PCA on their team, they can shove it. Let players have fun.

Benintendi is only making a large amount of money relative to the Sox. He's basically making high-end reliever money. They can cut him.
  16. Edgar Quero's death has been greatly exaggerated.
  17. I do think people forget the vibes Renteria's teams had. Made it so annoying that "Ricky's boys don't quit" got co-opted by the TLR era. I can't find it, but I'll always remember this one delightfully stupid clip of the entire dugout getting a beat started for Ryan Cordell to just drop it like it's hot. Then there was Moncada Day outfits or Madrigal's Mr. 3000 shirts. They liked each other. Mune is 100% a more extroverted leader than Pito (though both lead by example / production), but there's no other All-Star level vets (like Grandal, Keuchel, Lynn) to disrupt the club house.

I really want to add Gonzo and Braden's homers to the Colson, Mune, Vargas trio. Then throw Kyle Teel in there. Things can get so much more fun.
  19. Ready for a big Mune shot.
