  2. @bmags @Jose Abreu Bucks cap hell just got crazier. At this point - what do you guys think gets the Bucks to pass on Brogdon?
  3. Only reason I'd do this is because Porter is up in two years. But man, just went and looked at the Bucks situation in Capulator...it's not fun. You assume they re-sign Middleton to a max, which is $32M. Bledsoe's 4 year, 70M contract needs to be added. Then they have a non-guaranteed Hill at $18M, which will likely be waived. Mirotic and Brogdon will have bird rights, but likely asking for a lot. Brook is already a FA. Before resigning any of those three, they're $6M above the cap. Assume they need one of Lopez or Mirotic. Let's say Lopez is nice and goes with the MLE, that puts them at 11M above the cap. After actually crunching the numbers, maybe LaVine's $18M deal could be enough to get Brogdon, unless the Bucks want to be a painful $27M over the cap.
  4. Quoted the article on the last page, but KC Johnson mentions it in an article: https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/bulls/ct-spt-bulls-point-guard-nba-draft-trade-free-agency-20190518-story.html If the Bulls waive and stretch Felicio and can get Asik's cap hit removed (like they have asked the league) and renounce every FA, they get $27M in cap space. Without Asik, it's $24M. I think they could put $21M on the table and that would be enough to scare off the Bucks.
  5. You beat me to mentioning the Brogdon-Reddish combo. Supposedly the Lakers are the Garland promise (which is weird at #4). If that happened, I see the Suns taking White.
  6. @bmags and I talked about Brogdon-Reddish above. The Bulls are supposedly confident that they can sign Brogdon. If they truly are, then I think they should take the flier on Reddish and then hope Gafford falls to them in the second round. Sign Arci. If you can trade Dunn, then you may have the cap + MLE to sign Beverley and Taj after Brogdon. It'd be tight and I haven't checked it on the capulator, but possible.
  7. You might have missed the part where Eaton called a child a clubhouse leader. And Frazier has been the better player since, even though that's a low bar because Eaton has barely been able to stay on the field for the Nationals. While his batting average isn't great, he's hitting enough home runs, getting on base, and playing enough defense to earn his contracts. He's also 3 years older. Adam Eaton is being a headcase, missing games, and getting into fights about his "leader" Drake LaRoche 3 years later. He was an amazing player in 2016, but has been nothing to write home about since.
  8. It's frustrating seeing how fluid Reddish moves and shoots, then remembering how he played in college.

Really hoping for some second half surges.
  10. I think we've got different definitions of edgy. He's a good teammate, buts edgy as hell. He obliterated a watercooler in rage, went to other clubhouses to start fights, etc. Good teammate, edgy, angry dude.
  11. The dude cut up jerseys for the entire team because he didn't like the collar, I'd say that's fairly edgy.
  12. But what about the poor rich baseball owners? Congress even passed a bill for them called the "Save America's Pastime Act" that let them continue to pay under minimum wage! https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/congress-save-americas-pastime-act-would-allow-teams-to-pay-minor-leaguers-less-than-minimum-wage/ It's their patriotic duty to accept less money.
  13. Counter point: Nick Swisher, Carlos Zambrano, John Rocker "Edge" doesn't really mean anything. As Balta pointed out, the 2016 team had its edgy guys: Sale, Lawrie, Eaton
  14. This fucking quote: Yes, it is crazy Adam.
  15. I hope Drake LaRoche is a semi-real draft prospect and the White Sox draft him with no intent to sign him, just to spite Adam LaRoche. Sarcasm, but...barely.
  16. I think you need to get rid of Dunn, but it sure would be interesting. The key there is if Jimmy is a bull stopper again or if he'll play in the flow of the offense and only take over when needed.
  17. In context of this, Marquez and Ademan in addition to Happ?
  18. @Chisoxfn If they legitimately believe they can get Brogdon, they may as well swing for the fences and draft Reddish (assuming Hunter isn't on the board). Then with the 2nd rounder, try to get some front court depth and get Bazley or Porter. Or in the most ideal world, hope Gafford falls and don't trade him for cash considerations.
  19. With that arm, Burdi is in RF.
  20. I mean, by definition this is them trying something else. But yeah, should be Flores or Lambert.

This is the best take and descriptor in recent SoxTalk memory.
  22. Random thought, but one of these days I just want to see Jason bust out the quadratic formula or some crazy shit on SoxMath. Just to see what happens.
