  1. For what it's worth, the r/baseball board made of fans from across baseball loves Benetti and Stone as a pairing. Whenever they're mentioned, fans from other teams call them the best announcing duo.
  2. It was Hoffman before injury, Nola if Rodon was taken. Rodon was the right choice, you can't account for hindsight. Aiken was the Astros trying to get cute (ended up working out for them with Bregman) and Kolek was the Marlins in love with his fastball. Rodon looked like the second coming of Sale.
  3. If Rutschman somehow magically falls to the Sox, parts of Soxtalk will somehow find a way to say it was a bad move because we'd have to sign him overslot, it didn't work out with Rodon, there has to be a reason the Royals and O's passed on him, etc.
  4. Cash considerations.
  5. Really, based on nothing but Kannapolis and Spring Training, I think Mitchell would have panned out if not for the injury.
  6. If the Bulls don't get Morant, I'd use the cap space on Brogdon, and then you can take a risk on someone like Garland in the draft. Granted - you're gonna have to use up the entire cap on Brogdon, so its a big gamble / I'm not sure how the bird rights for Lauri would be affected.
  7. Right. But the point was Wil Myers drew Trea Turner after batting .222 Shelby Miller trade happened. James Shields happened. Players with options are assets, despite what you think.
  8. Well fortunately GMs like AJ Preller exist. He traded a freshly drafted, top prospect Trea Turner for Wil Myers, who batted .222 the season before.
  9. Did you forget about Padres James Shields?
  10. Basabe, Gonzalez, Walker, and Booker all play CF. Robert is our best CF option. He is not our only one.
  11. I'd describe Borchard and Fields as many things, but black is not one of them. He liked super toolsy athletes. I still think Mitchell would have been a good pick if not for the spring training injury.
  12. Assets are assets. Once they don't have options, sure, cut them. But if you need bodies in Charlotte and they have options, cutting them is idiotic.
  13. That's the Hostetler, if we're saying he has a prototype. Kenny's prototype was always athletes.
  14. I imagine he gains confidence in the bullpen at AA while they continue to stretch him out, then rotation after the draft?
  15. I feel like this game should have been the final straw for Ricky. Like, c'mon.
  16. Nice
  17. If the Sox are anywhere near the wild card hunt at the trade deadline, I vote @Jack Parkman changes his name to Hiroshi Tanaka
  18. I'll be damned. Ricky's boys don't quit.
  19. Legitimately couldn't tell if that was caught or not. James McCann being this on fire confounds me, but I love it.
  20. This is where I'm at.
  21. What the hell did Herm do that kept people healthy?
  22. This seems like a good time to say "I hate the competitive balance round."
  23. With Zangari there - maybe it's a matter of getting everyone at bats? Before hand it would have been Bush (3B), Sosa (SS), Nunez (2B), with Curbelo rotating at the three spots and whoever wasn't on the field DHing. Now Zangari is there, so he, Hickman, and Troutwine are kind of taking the DH slot.
