I'm not a native Chicagoan either. But my hometown is poor and is similar demographically. Those South Side jokes mostly amount to "ha ha, your area is terrible because of black-on-black crime where they shoot and kill each other." A lot different than "There's nothing to do in town but have a bonfire, drive around, go to the one nice bar everyone goes to, or think about going to Chicago" stereotypes that flyover territory gets.

I remember MLB Network picking Beckham as the 2B of the 2010s. Definitely had a few MVPs in his future. I'm amped for Eloy, but he's not the 6th best RF in MLB until he's in MLB and hitting.

On the flip side, there's a difference between trading Bryce Bush, who should have been a 6th rounder, lit up the AZL, and will be in the Top 30, and trading Yordi Rosario. The people that moaned about trading Rosario for Nova are always going to complain. Bush just shouldn't be traded this early.
