QUOTE (SCCWS @ Aug 16, 2016 -> 07:45 AM) Not necessarily true. The poster said early stages. Not sure how much you know about early dementia but I have been working with patients for close to 20 years. Someone who has early dementia can be perfectly lucid in some areas but will have other parts of their daily routine that they struggle with. For example, it is very common for a dementia patient to sit down and work a crossword puzzle or discuss their childhood yet have no clue what they ate for lunch an hour ago. If Jr was able to do a 30 minute feature he most likely would be in a very early stage if he does have the start of dementia. Three weeks ago my dad saw JR at a deli that JR frequents in Arizona. Said he seemed fine.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 15, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) CNN needs more missing plane coverage. My favorite instance of this was when a gun had been fired near the White House and the breaking news was the damn plane.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 15, 2016 -> 04:12 PM) I think CNN is less left aligned then FoxNews is right aligned. My view is CNN is the best place to get news and I don't think that highly out of FoxNews for well news. FoxNews was my go to news station 4 years ago and they have went into the tubes more recently. None of it is perfect but I feel CNN does a pretty good job getting as many different commentators as possible which provide you with many differing views and thus enable any individual to holistically listen to various views and think which ones they prefer. Sure, there are people who lean one way vs. another, but hard to not have that exist to some extent. People can rip at me all you want, but I think CNN's election coverage has been pretty good. I also am smart enough that I can listen to something and come up with my own opinion on it and can also blow off or read through a lot of BS that all of these organizations spin. CNN is definitely the least biased of the networks. They're big issue is when they get hung up on certain topics. They're left leaning, but not left slanted.

In other news, Rudy Giuliani is going insane.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 15, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) I went through it in school. It's very much publicized. It's not an actual brainwashing, but there's a lot of professors who teach you their ideology instead of how to look at an issue, contrasting viewpoints, problem solving, etc. A few recent examples: Harvard has banned a good deal of their prominent conservative alumni. DePaul has banned conservative speakers like Ben Shapiro and Milo Yiannopopolus from coming on campus. U of I took a professor's tenure away for a speaking out against Israel's treatment towards Palestine. Occidental expelled one of their most esteemed students over what an extremist professor deemed rape. Missouri allowed Ben Shapiro and bowed repeatedly towards the conservative government in the state. So, right-wing brainwashing in academia? (Yes, I'm aware that BLM protests led to the stepping down of the system president. My point is that there's not some university-wide Illuminati indoctrinating people.)

QUOTE (spiderman @ Aug 14, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) If the only available candidates, should Ventura not be back, are ex-White Sox players, does replacing him matter? Sandy Alomar Jr. and Dave Martinez would both be fine.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 14, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) Watched some of the morning shows today. There was a lot of talk about unfair coverage of Trump compared to Hillary. Said the media is heavily Democratic and deems it its duty to keep Trump out. Was this on Fox News by any chance?

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Aug 14, 2016 -> 02:16 AM) That would never work, you can't have 2 CFs. Where would you play the second Trout? Closer

IGN's review is kind of hammering home all of the fears I had about this game. http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/08/13/no-...y-review?page=1

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 12, 2016 -> 07:01 PM) They shouldve moved on from Hope Solo years ago. I wonder if she thinks her sister and nephew are cowards.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) Chicago White Sox @whitesox 36m36 minutes ago Prior to tonight’s game, the #WhiteSox placed Miguel Gonzalez on the 15-day DL and recalled Chris Beck from Class AAA Charlotte. But that's not Ranaudo.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Aug 12, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) In a previous post, I argued that I'd prefer the Sox trade Sale than Quintana, and I gave several reasons. Although I don't advocate trading either one, I'd like to add one more reason why I would trade Sale over Quintana; The evidence is mounting that, at least this year, Q is actually a slightly better pitcher. I know that sounds ridiculous, but look at their respective game logs, and see if you don't agree. The margin isn't very great, but Quintana barely edges out Sale as the more consistently reliable Ace. What a shame that this team can't score enough runs to make him the Cy Young candidate that he deserves to be. It's also much easier to root for Q.

I'm probably gonna get it, especially if I ever get PS VR. But what Joe suggested above - the ability to colonize and meet up with other players. If they ever add that to the game and make it work, it'd be the GOAT game.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) Rollins certainly was awful. Hawk kept talking about how he was a Hall of Famer. He reeked. He's still probably a Hall of Famer. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) 2 + apple = Harambe QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 03:19 PM) 2 + DC Comics catalog = pi/relativity So if the Sox trade Harambe's apple pies for Albert Einstein, we get two Mike Trouts?

Alright I'm officially excited.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 06:17 PM) Yes, but a lot of people simply would never consider going to 35th and Shields. Convenience is good, but other cities have their stadiums downtown and thrive. Chicago has to think big. Our team is second fiddle. It's time for the new owners to figure out where we would have the best chance of selling out every game. Frankly it's probably either Naperville or in the heart of downtown. Make it a 45,000 seat stadium with a retractable roof and put it somewhere we're going to sell out every game. It's got to truly be the best stadium ever constructed to compete with the Cubs. Don't a lot of cities have their teams in suburbs?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 06:06 PM) There are better locations. Just think. If you were to own the Chicago White Sox and had the money and had to decide where to put the stadium ... 35th and Shields would be way way down the list. My preferences are 1. Downtown. 2. Naperville. 3. Lisle. 4. Schaumberg. 5. Lake Shore Drive. 6. 35th and Shields. 7. Near Brookfield Zoo. In modern American business, it's wherever they can make the biggest buck. If it's Las Vegas, bye bye White Sox. If it's Charlotte, bye bye White Sox. If it's Memphis, bye bye White Sox. If it's Chicago, then they stay. Considering the Cell has plenty of parking space, is a Metra stop and right off the highway, I'd leave it be.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 05:46 PM) What does Fox News have to do with anything? WikiLeaks makes your candidate look bad so they equal Fox News? MSNBC is just a smidge above the both of them, but barely and only because they don't make Fox News' atrocious charts. But what they all have is massive political agendas and fear mongering depending on who is in power.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 05:51 PM) As long as they keep the team in Chicago I hope Reinsdorf sells soon. The new owner WILL build a new ballpark, hopefully in a new location. Why? It's just fine where it is.
