QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) Historically what had this stat looked like? Say without Trump running? This number seems staggering. I'd imagine it would be much closer, but still lean liberal. But in this case - look at the papers endorsements. When a candidate mocks reporters, talks about wanting to sue them and encourages his supporters to be violent/aggressive to reporters, they aren't likely to donate to him.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 07:22 AM) 96% of all donatations made by journalists have going to Hillary Clinton. https://www.publicintegrity.org/2016/10/17/...n-campaign-cash Journalists more likely to donate to candidate that isn't talking about altering libel laws to sue them.

1000 more people shot in Chicago vs same time last year
If guns were more readily available in Chicago, would we see a drop in violence or would it explode? I tend to think the latter, but I'm liberal when it comes to gun control. Thoughts?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 01:13 AM) And I accept that and respect that. But nobody besides you on the Hillary side has come out and said she is flawed. I respect your stance and you actually are right. She is less "dangerous." I just don't like her, etc.

Pretty sure the Indians are the actual team of destiny here.

The US Senate - control at stake
I think Democrats are gonna take the Senate, much to Paul Ryan's chagrin. He's afraid of Bernie Sanders on any budget committees. House won't happen - thanks gerrymandering. That's a practice that needs to get taken out quickly.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 17, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) I am 100% certain you'll never see Michelle Obama continue in an actual political position. She seems to want to go back to a more normal life ASAP. And yet, more likely than Chelsea.

Your new Supreme Court nominee is....
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 17, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) John McCain talking about how if Clinton wins but Republicans keep the Senate, they'll continue to obstruct any possible nominee to the Supreme Court. There's being partisan, then there's this petty bulls***.

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Oct 17, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) I'm going to miss the First Lady, there wasn't one like her and there probably won't be another. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/17/t-magazi...etter.html?_r=0 Greg should be more worried about Michelle than Chelsea. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) I really feel this election cycle would be a lot better if Clinton didn't spend as much time as she did dropping to his level and engaging him in this stupidity. It is also another reason I question her decision making skills. See, even at her worst this campaign she hasn't been close to his level. She has to appear stronger than him in debates, so she has to engage him while still getting her policy across. Which I think she's done.

NLCS: Cubs vs Dodgers
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) He's already pitched on 3 days rest like 4 times in the playoffs inhis career , game 5 is his. At least we can end the Kershaw isn't clutch narrative, he has killed it so far. Just one other LAD starter needs to step up.

Chris Getz to take over player development
Marco Paddy and Nick Hostetler continue to be the two outside-the-team FO guys that have been hired. And subsequently, the only two I 100% approve of so far.

OBAMA/TRUMPCARE MEGATHREAD
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 11:04 PM) You both make EXCELLENT points! My take is we have to change the system radically in terms of partisanship. And it's impossible to do that EXCEPT if our government allowed/required all government jobs to be filled by one Demo and one Repub. For instance secretary of state (have 2 of 'em; one Demo one Repub). Anybody hired to lead a committee on health care reform (one Demo, one Repub). For instance didn't Bill Clinton put Hillary in charge of health care reform way back when? Nobody wanted to work with her. Obamacare?? Had NO support cause nobody on the Repub side was gonna support it. They are way too selfish. We've got to work TOGETHER and face it. We'll NEVER work together. Like I said earlier the state of Kansas is gonna vote Trump in. We vote Brownback in twice. Cause of the letter R. It's sickening. We CANT cooperate as a country to get things done. And health care is gonna kill us all. I agree the system is a clusterf***. I just want to highlight this beautiful (and depressing) phrase.
