  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJtZcFmUtvo Julian Assange essentially admits that Seth Rich was the DNC leak source. I have trouble taking Assange at face value and I'm going with Occam's Razor on Rich's murder until something of more substance comes along. Also the only admission there was a barely noticeable nod.
  2. QUOTE (captain54 @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 10:24 AM) He's cost Sale at least 2 wins this 2nd half And Sale cost himself two starts by going crazy pants on the team. Karma?
  3. If we try to add Cespedes and a catcher with a pulse, sure.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) what an astonishingly stupid decision by La Stella. He is an injury away from being right back in the majors, and at the end of the month he comes back up regardless because rosters expand. I would just end his season if I were the cubs. Enjoy New Jersey, dude Lmao

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Outside of maybe Zach Collins, I don't know if we have a hitter with a higher ceiling than Adolfo. The three highest ceilings in the system in order are probably Hansen, Collins, Adolfo with the last two a toss up
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 39m39 minutes ago The Schaumburg (Ill.) Boomers of the independent Frontier League have offered Tim Tebow a contract to play as an outfielder.
  7. Tebow trying out for MLB teams. Adam Jones with the perfect response. Adam Jones @SimplyAJ10 After this @MLB season I'm going try out for the @NFL this offseason. I haven't played since HS but I've played in a few TurkeyBowls since!!
  8. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) That's hyperbolic to say the least. I mean, George Bush said the same thing basically. http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/19/politics/geo...ican-president/

QUOTE (shysocks @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) That's actually the correct pronunciation of Lawrie's name. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) He's declined 3 straight years. No one is saying his son could be the only reason he has declined, but it could certainly be a factor. His son just arrived for a visit and his play perked up. Could be a coincidence, but could matter. If I paid you $20 million to be poster on this board, which I wouldn't - to be clear - that's going to greg for a new house, you would have days that your personal life affected your focus. Baseball players play nearly every day for four months. Focus can be an issue. It doesn't mean you couldn't have some great days there, but you may have more bad posts than otherwise because of some personal struggles. People admire Jackie Robinson for putting up with so much off the field threats and criticism and still performing. But really, why are we admiring him? He just needed to play baseball for a couple of swings. s***. I good friend in the hospital right now and it's affected me at work. People are...people. Shocking.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) But thats what he would be now. Oh well, if he doesnt want it...he doesnt want it. And that's not counting the fact that Trump could legit kill the GOP

QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) jaeowijfweoaijfweojaoifjwaoejif ARE PEOPLE SERIOUS?!!? Flip it around so: So you he goes 3 years without seeing his son and YOU KNOW IT DOES AND IS THE REASON ITS IMPACTING HIS PERFORMANCE???? come on man. Yes people love their kids. That has nothing to do with baseball. My god. This is so soft. Do you really think there is any correspondence? So we're saying there is a 91mph slider coming in low and away in 2014. Because his son was 8 months old at the time he didn't miss him as much and during that split second he lays off that pitch? BUT WAIT! It's 2016. Now that slider is coming in on a 2-2 count, the same exact fricking slider, but he has a more in depth bond with his son, which causes more sadness, so he swings at that pitch??? GTFO This is the same type of argument that is made when they say "oh you can't move such and such from SS to CF - it'll hurt his development at the plate beceause he is focusing to much on the defensive shift" It's pathetic making excuses. These guys go up to a plate 3-4 times a game for a total of 3-4 minutes. They can leave any personal issues at the door. I'm about done with this board for the year. I can't take reading this anymore. Call me when spring training fluff pieces begin. Also for the sake of this argument I Hope Abreu goes 2 for his next 98 while his son is around. I'm out.
  12. So Jill Stein's a hypocrite and the Green Party primary was rigged. Who'da thunk? http://americablog.com/2016/08/jill-stein-...man-rights.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/the-gr...4b0aae2a5a0a464

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) He's got $20MM in the bank so maybe he can go back to Cuba if he can't handle being away for his family. Wow.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 06:26 PM) I just wish the Hillary fans and this board is full of them would admit Hillary has been given this election thanks to the FBI director and media. That's all I wish. It also would help if you admitted she is a horrible choice for President, albeit a better choice than Trump. Greg, your hate-boner has been tabled for a brief moment to discussion Obama's qualifications in 2008.
  16. QUOTE (RegionSox @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 06:15 PM) How do you define least qualified ever? He was a state legislator and a Senator before President. We've had a few former generals that became President that never held any elected office previous to that. Lincoln was only a Representative for two years. That was the entirety of his qualifications.
  17. You can argue that Lincoln, Grant, Taylor, and Hoover all had less experience and qualifications.
  18. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 06:07 PM) My favorite thing so far in this crazy election is Obama calling Trump unqualified. Holy smokes Obama! While this may be true, you were a senator for like 9 minutes and spent the entire time prepping for a slam dunk election. The pot and the kettle are both black Mr. President. Let's not forget you were technically the least qualified ever, regarding service time in positions of leadership. Not trying to bash Obama and make people defensive, just pointing out the hilarity & absurdity. Obama's qualifications in 2008 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Trump's qualifications
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) Ah, this is all according to form. Hillary gets the preferential treatment from the FBI and it's been all downhill since. With the media's help, the runaway train scenario is now being played out. Hillary (who gave a horrible, say nothing screamathon speech at the convention and was jeered during the speech; a speech that nonetheless got rave reviews) now is granted the "runaway winner" scenario over the rude kook Donald Trump. Trump is getting the media tag of being a rude wacko who will bring us to war right away and is getting no air time except for the "wackjob Trump" stories. Hillary meanwhile is staying fairly quiet as the media does the coronating for her. Very sad and pathetic we can't have a fair election. Hillary shouldn't spend a dime on her campaign. She's getting all the free publicity she needs. The "landslide" scenario has been painted. Stately (lol) former First Lady, the stately, accomplished Secretary of State (lol) runs away with election over the Republican nutjob/racist/warmonger. Trump should drop out. He has nothing to gain by staying in and letting this scenario continue. Nothing but positive stuff in the Hillary soundbites; nothing but horror expressed during the Trump soundbites. lmao

QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) I know its unrelated and circumstances are different, but i remember a couple of years back Alexei was horrible and always making inexcusable errors as well as bat being in a coma. Later in the year we heard about (father in law? got killed) Weighed on him so much. Even Ozzie once said how Latin players take things much more emotionally that others. Next year after that.. Alexei had a great year. So.. Abreu not just seeing his son, but who knows if there were any other matters of his kids well being that we are unaware of. And the year after that, Minnie died and Alexei was abysmal. When I talked to Alexei last October he broke down into tears when talking about Minnie.

    DC Films

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 03:13 AM) Apparently a lot of Joker/Harley Quinn was cut out of the film because it was too graphic and would've pushed the film to a R rating. If anyone is familiar with their relationship you know that it's extremely abusive and toxic, I love how the movie alluded to that without any exposition and over the top moments, it was done really subtly. The movie is much better the second time and I am super excited for the solo Harley Quinn film. I think the Suicide Squad franchise should be the DCEU's equivalent to the Mission Impossible/Fast & Furious franchises. Each film gets a new director, a new take and genre. The main cast stays (Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Flagg, and Katana) the same but each film brings a new crop of supporting characters. That being said, I think it was Ayer is coming back for the sequel, he's going to start after he wraps Bright (another Will Smith film). I would LOVE a Suicide Squad directed by Tarantino and not just because of the fan made "Tarantino's Suicide Squad" trailer.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 11:32 AM) Why should he feel bad for that post? Regardless of Jose's personal circumstances, it's ludicrous that the White Sox have cultivated an atmosphere where we as fans wonder whether the absence or presence of a child makes a difference on players paid millions to play baseball. It truly is a circus. Because comparing a man being separated from his infant son for three years due to lingering cold war politics is a lot different than a man taking his son out of school during the season so he can be with the team and partake in drills. And no one is saying let Abreu have his son in the clubhouse every day. It's his kid is gonna go back to Cuba, which can have emotional pain.

QUOTE (FT35 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 09:12 AM) Soooooo....lemme get this straight...we need LaRoche's son to be gone...but now we need Abreu's son to be here all the time!? Maybe he's the missing leader on this team now that Drake is gone!? What a circus! Do other teams go through what we go through!?!?!??!?! You should feel bad for this post. He only got to see his son for the first time in 3 years because the President ended hostilities between the US and Cuba.
