**Gary Johnson 2016 election thread**
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) It is also worth nothing that Fox is no longer the leader of Mexico. Nieto has been the Presidente for about 4 years now. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) Johnson called him "the former president of Mexico" but couldn't remember his name. Yeah, didn't include that snippet. He mentioned him and couldn't remember the name Vincente Fox.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) I heard someone talking about this bill on TV so take this with a grain of salt but if I understood him correctly, other countries could also sue the USA for war crimes. So US citizens could sue Saudi Arabia and all of the countries in the middle east that don't get billions in foreign aid could sue the US. If that's true, it's probably good Obama vetoed but that's an incredible number on the vote. Was about to page Badger in the Dem thread. But I'm seeing the same as you. Talk about opening Pandora's Box.

**Gary Johnson 2016 election thread**
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 08:22 PM) I sure haven't seen a lead referring to Obama as an admitted cocaine user. The crux of the matter is the fact that Johnson has been smoking pot frequently and it's a large draw for the Libertarian Platform amongst college voters. Is it stupid? Yeah. It also doesn't detract from the fact that Gary Johnson can't name a single foreign leader.

**Gary Johnson 2016 election thread**
QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) I have discussed Johnson's pitfalls but this WaPo bit is ridiculous: "The former governor of New Mexico, an admitted marijuana smoker, embarrassed himself in an interview earlier this month, asking “and what is Aleppo?” when asked what he would do about the bloody Syrian-Russian offensive against that city." They sure as s*** wouldn't call HRC "an admitted alcohol drinker." To be fair, alcohol isn't illegal in the vast majority of the country. Buuuuuut that's out of place. It would have been like writing "George Bush, a former alcoholic"

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 11:59 PM) I think you have to write around it and word it differently. Let the quote speak for itself. In a non opinion piece why throw in your opinion? My point is this is how they get Hillary to win by a landslide. It's not fair. At that point, you're simply providing Trump with the platform and validating his quotes. That was the case until he backtracked on the birther comments.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) This is an example of the bias against Trump. This is in a news story on CNN.com not an opinion piece. ... The sentence says: "With no apparent consideration for the political recklessness of his crude comments, Trump once again went after Machado's physical appearance, bringing her up on his own." The writer said the comments were "crude" and says they were politically "reckless." Says who? This is how you can tell the writer of the story favors Hillary over Trump. And don't get me started with the TV folks like Chris Matthews. He basically issued a love letter to Hillary making sure he had the first crack at who won the debate. He screamed that it was a shutout with HIllary hitting five home runs to Trump's none. Cmon Chris. Any Trump supporter could point to five zinger lines Trump had that would look good as soundbites as well as Hillary's. If Hillary won, it was by a very very small margin. The bias amazes me. What about the remarks isn't crude? If someone called Bill Self an ugly blowhard, wouldn't you describe it as crude? If someone called Bernadette Gray-Little a fat pig, wouldn't that be reckless? Or do we need to have a right-wing talk radio show confirm it?

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Like... you're facetious here, but this is literally what someone could have tweeted me completely unironically. I've said it heard a depressing amount of times. Modern Republicans are more the Party of Reagan, the Democrats the Party of either FDR or Obama.

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) "Did you know the KKK was started by Democrats" is one that I hear pretty often. Yes, motherf***er, I knew that. I am glad you're all caught up on s*** I learned in public school when I was 13. Andrew Jackson started the Democrats, Lincoln the Republicans. Therefore, Republicans are better for minorities.

2016 Democratic Thread
One of the most annoying things I've noticed in this entire election, going back to the primaries, is that black voters only vote Democrat/Clinton because they don't know any better and are going off of name recognition/brainwashed by the Democrats. A friend that supported Bernie looked me dead in the eye and said that. This rhetoric is just stupidly racist and is basically reducing black political action and intelligence to a dehumanizing level.

If anyone thins Clinton should have been kind or trrated Trump as an equal, that's absurd. Half of his shtick is he seems visually powerful I'm these debates. Making him look weak and defensive is the right way to go.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) Well, he did reply later that he "followed the laws of the nation," which, to me, is a better way to reply to the tax issue. I am quite certain that the Clinton's take advantage of tax law and tax loopholes to avoid paying excess taxes as well. Trump is a businessman and many of his supporters admire him for those qualities and want him in the White House because of those qualities. The fact that he hires intelligent tax lawyers is so far down the list of reasons not to vote for him that it is a non-issue. What is incredible to me is how the guy is not intelligent enough to just use Hillary's "establishment" label against her in a civil way (use Bernie's playbook) and then mix in some of his own thoughts and ideas with a bent on his business experience and his ability to "get things done." To me, that is a potential winning blueprint that either his team fails to see (which I highly doubt), or he simply is not disciplined enough to execute. He isn't able to execute because she got under his skin immediately. He was expecting another Jeb! or Rubio, not a shark out for blood.
