  1. Trump telling supporters to vote on November 28th. Heh.
  2. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archiv...s-trump/503711/ As for abolishing filibusters, I can't see it happening. Dems will think of it as too valuable a tool, sadly.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 12:15 AM) Of course she hates the middle class. I've been saying it on here forever. She's a one percenter folks, just like Donald. They both are elitist. They both are rich. Their lives for the most part are over (not being mean here, their ages and quality of life that's coming). So you'd think they'd want to help the little guy and gal their last 10 years or so of their working lives (til 78, 80). But nooooo. Of course she hates Americans. So does Trump for that matter. FYI I don't think Obama hates Americans nor did Carter or Reagan. Bushes were kinda elitist themselves. And as an addendum by "hate Americans" I mean yes they'd do ANYTHING to stomp them if it meant them staying a one percenter. Sure they hate us. Bingo! But he doesn't see it. Did you really just gloss over two pages of discussion? She hates the phrase "everyday Americans"
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 12:15 AM) Because he is a Cubs fan, it's quite that simple. He can be a Sox fan as well, but Austin is a Cubs fan for sure. I'm not saying this as an insult either. While I couldn't be a fan of both teams, others can if that's their prerogative.
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 12:07 AM) just don't do it man, why do feel the need to stir the drink Because he is a Cubs fan, it's quite that simple. He can be a Sox fan as well, but Austin is a Cubs fan for sure.
  6. Hate seeing wife beaters celebrate.

  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 09:59 PM) CNN paid trump's former campaign manager who is still in regular contact with Trump 500k to be on the air. CNN is without an ideology beyond ratings ratings ratings imo. True. They used to be the good one on the middle spectrum, then Flight 370 happened.
  14. CNN's closer to Fox News. Occupy Democrats/Daily Kos would be closer to Breitbart.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 03:15 PM) Why would the Nationals bash Urias? And game 5 would be do or die too. You have to put yourself in the best position to win both, not just one. Fully rested Urias and Kershaw > Short rest Kershaw and Hill. Or fully rested Quintana? SS2k5 is right. Market is shaping up nicely for the Sox.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) Random, surreal, to lighten the mood.
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) I don't think the Red Sox would move both JBJ and Benintendi. I know you've said the same earlier in the thread, but I don't think a rental of Melky really changes anything. JBJ and Benintendi are both franchise CFers. The BoSox could move one, but moving both would take a huge strength and turn it into a huge hole. Neither Melky Cabrera or Brock Holt will make a difference in that regard. I do think a lot of posters on this board are underrating JBJ. I know we're trading the best asset the White Sox have ever had in this hypothetical and people want better than JBJ as a headliner, but JBJ is a .340-.360 OBP guy with 20+ dingers and great defense. Other than depth of the roster, our problem is the lack of power/OBP/defense. JBJ does all of those things at a premium position. At home, he can really take away the gaps. Seeing what Lorenzo Cain does when KC come to town, it would be incredible to have our own guy forcing teams to hit the long ball to win. Especially with Eaton in RF. I think Kopech is the guy the Sox would insist on including. He'd be the next ace prospect in the system hopefully to replace Sale in a few years. He had some makeup concerns coming out of the draft and has since been suspended for stims and suspended for fighting with a teammate. That adds another layer of risk on a 20 year old who throws 100+. He is filthy though. Despite a clear need to stop tipping his off-speed pitches, Kopech absolutely dominated A+ as a 20 year old. He stays tall and closed on the fastball but has a bad habit of dropping down and slowing down on the offspeed offerings. From my largely untrained eye, his mechanics would check out with the Sox. So to me, one of JBJ/Benintendi is a must. Kopech is a must. One of Swihart/Vazquez makes too much sense. If it's JBJ, we need Moncada too. If it's Bentinendi, the last four pieces are higher quality guys than the last three on Moncada/JBJ starter. If we could somehow get Moncada/JBJ that would be incredible. My deals in order of preference and least likelihood: 1.) Moncada, JBJ, Kopech, Swihart/Vazquez and Eduardo Rodriguez/Brian Johnson. 2.) Benintendi, Kopech, Devers, Swihart/Vazquez and Eduardo Rodriguez/Brian Johnson 3.) JBJ, Kopech, Devers, Swihart/Vazquez and Luis Alexander Basabe I can get behind that first deal. JBJ and Moncada alone could fill two holes. Keeps Eaton in right as well. Then you just hope Hansen, Kopech, Rodriguez and Fulmer can fill in the space behind Quintana and Rodon.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:24 AM) If the Giants win today, the pressure on the Cubs will be catastrophic. Get ready for another collapse. Pretty sure Lester's brain would melt. And who knows if Chapman is rattled now or not.
  19. RIP Greg's real estate plans.
  20. Not saying I like Ortiz, but it's understandable why he's getting a retirement tour because everyone loves him due to his numbers and smile, which somehow outweighs the roids. David Ross has done nothing to deserve a tour.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 10, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) Not nearly as bad as what Ortiz has been getting and his is nationally. One is a possible HOF, the other a backup catcher.
