QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 12:50 AM) Why can I hear Will Ferrell saying those lines...? Not sure, I was going for Hermes from Futurama.

Sweet molasses of Parnassus I would do those two moves together in a heart beat.
  3. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 07:31 AM) $$$$ fine for Ol' Billy B $$$$ fine for Kraft Take 1st & 2nd round picks from them for next three years. Might seem harsh, but at this point they're repeat offenders and its institutional. They're not showing respect for "the Shield." Poor guy whose job it is to take the air out of the balls is probably getting his a$$ chewed for missing one. 11 of 12 is unacceptable. I'd either take 1sts and 2nds for the next three years or if they REALLY wanted to drop the hammer: No picks this year. None. It should have an effect like the Joe Smith - Timberwolves penalty.
  4. QUOTE (Armchair Hahn @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 08:37 AM) not sure on the politics of the Sox/Nats relationship...but Fister is the guy i feel would be appropriate for the Sox. We don't need another #2, #3 guy such as Zimmermann for the price that he will command in terms of trades. Fister should be relatively less costly and will fill our need of a backend #4 or 5 guy without breaking the bank. I would perhaps trade a Matt Davidson or other one of our prospects in the 6-10 range. The Nats don't have many needs at the MLB level The Nats would laugh at Matt Davidson being a center piece.
  5. I have a feeling this draft year will not be fun for the Pats.
  6. Crunched the numbers for work and in the last year of Scherzer's deal he'll be paid 1.5 times higher than league average. The equivalent for last season would be 5,804,763. Great structuring by Nats.
  7. This team has such little fire. Also, f*** Mozgov.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) And the Nationals would say no. But what if we offer C. Rondon Then Hahn just smiles at Rizzo the rest of his career.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) If you could guarantee me a ring I'd trade Rodon for one. But you can't do that. Adding Stras to this rotation makes them the clear favorites for the AL Central, but even then there's still 3 series to win and the best team often does not win a given series. The greatest rotation in the world doesn't guarantee you move forward. The Giants moved forward last year with Hudson and Peavy as 2 of their top starters. Clearly Quintana and Sale/Stras would be a lot better than them, but that's no guarantee that you're going to win those 2 games. Ding ding ding. We've got no guarantee that adding Stras would win us a WS. But I'd trade everything outside of Rodon.
  10. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 12:35 PM) good point but that is my problem. betting on something like this is like betting millions on the come in craps. I don't think anyone is banking on him. Most people tend to ignore/forget about him in their extended projected rotations, myself included.
  11. McDermott drops 30, 10-10 from 3.
  12. If EJ somehow rebounds, the Sox are in an amazing position.
  13. Why do I feel like that's a huge underpay for Fowler?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) Thrilled with this deal. Scherzer had replaced Johan as the pitcher I felt the Sox had no chance to defeat when on the mound. Also, doesn't hurt to have a super rotation out there in case they face Cubs in postseason. More likely to face the Sox in the postseason.
  15. If they traded Melky the Sox would find it near impossible to entice top free agents in the future.
  16. I actually really like the Seahawks. Richard Sherman is my favorite non-Bear.
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) Yeah, I don't agree with that at all. Strikeouts is really the only thing Cutch has over him. Hair.
  18. Man, this Bulls team needs Noah off the bench with Niko, MDJ back so Jimmy can go back the two, and hope McD can shoot
  19. All hail The Flying Serpent
  20. That was the most confident Derrick has been in a while. Jo is resting up. Jimmy and Pau each had 20+
  21. Best of luck D2.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 10:34 PM) Is "absolutely phenomenal" really the correct verbage? Adams was nothing special last year, and while Danish has been good, he's still at WS. Let's hold off on absolutely phenomenal for now. Adams was ridiculous after being drafted.
  23. Dude was classy as hell and had an unprecedented drop off. He ended up being an awful signing (but even then, short term deal and not expensive by current going rates) but could never dislike the guy.
