QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) I can't figure how a team can get a top 5 pick every year without eventually having a string of hits, even if they have a poor development system/organization. If the Pirates can be 10 games up... But THAT FARM SYSTEM.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 7, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) It has to suck the be a K.C. fan. What do they look forward to every season? "Hey maybe we'll crack 75 wins this season". I hear their farms systems are good. Somewhere that should translate someday to them being good. They use to be a powerhouse in MLB at one time. I think it's bad for baseball that organizations suck for 2 or more decades. Sure there are others but a lot of people in that organization can't be doing things right. I will always criticize Kenny for making trades with that organization. Losing is a habit. I've heard analysts talk about former Cubs removing the "Cub stink". It has to apply to the Riyals as well. According to some on this board, they will leave the Sox in the dust tomorrow.

GT: Toronto Blue Jays @ Chicago White Sox

TORONTO HAS NO NIGHT LIFE. HENCE, AFTER THIS GAME, THEIR PLAYERS WILL BE CLUELESS WITH WHAT TO DO. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2012 -> 07:52 AM) The Twins still fully believe they are in the race. I hate them. Just reiterating that.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 7, 2012 -> 01:50 AM) I blame a lack of run support for Jake Peavy this season. But seriously, this sucks man. I'm getting used to it, it's just the nocturnal ones starting has pissed me off even more. And it doesn't look like this second medication is working. I want to f***ing drive. So, of the 23 seizure meds, it takes two months to test each, and it's trial and error. And none are guaranteed to work. So four years down the road, I could have gone through each to no avail. Yay.
-
So guys, what's worse, Nocturnal Seizures or normal Seizures? Normal ones just happen whatever you're doing, mine seem to be due to a lack of sleep, leave you fatigued, and you don't remember them. Nocturnal ones happen when you go to sleep (since they started three days ago, everytime I've slept...even naps), wake you in the middle of the night, leave you tired when you wake up, you basically wake up hungover, leave bite marks on your tongue (though not nearly as bad normal ones, they go away and they haven't given me a scar yet), but you'll feel back to normal after around two hours of being awake. Epilepsy f***ing sucks. Mine are triggered by sleep, either the lack of or going to sleep, leave me fatigued but wake me up, which causes more and f*** all this s***. /angry

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) who saw THAT coming? The crazy optimist in me. The realist told him to shut up. GO INNER HOMER.

This Youkilis fellow, I like him.

God damnit...I liked Jesus Shuttlesworth.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) Well, these last few posts are a different Dick Allen persona. So if you are trying to f*** with my head, you do win this battle. The viva Ozzie stuff pretty much defeats me. It's not Dick Allen-ish. So you win the fight. Yes, but my comeback shows I am not as dumb as you think I am at least. You guys are nuts. I defend Ozzie. I do not start these things. Greg, dumb and delusional are two different things. I don't think you're dumb.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) Quin just got handled by greg. That is awesome. I'll concede that one, but wasn't Greg just complaining about people taking one part of a post and ignoring the whole?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) You didn't think that was a well-written article? And to be able to print what happened in a conversation between a manager and his struggling closer? You name a story you could get access like that?? That access wasn't the best you've ever read as well?? I can't believe all of you hate Ozzie this much. It truly amazes me. 1) It was a well written article, but that's because Grantland is awesome. 2) Well, considering there's an all-access show, it might not be as difficult as you make it out to be. Half the time, getting access is just asking. 3) It was not even close to the best access I've ever read. That is laughable. 4) It's not so much we hate Ozzie. It's we hate how you've made it your life's goal to deitize him.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) You guys don't even have an open mind on the matter. You tell me Ozzie didn't handle that situation PERFECTLY? I will lose respect for you if you actually say Ozzie handled that poorly. You are better than that. It may be the best thing I've ever read. How many people are allowed to listen into (read) the conversatoin between the closer and the manager when the closer is sucking?? At least I have an open mind on KW. There are no absolutes with me. I may not like KW but I give him props when he deserves them. Ozzie handled that PERFECTLY and you should show your baseball knowledge IMO and agree with me on that at least! As a journalist and literary aficionado, I lost respect for you when you stated that "may be the best thing I've ever read." Also, I love "in my opinion, you should agree with me on that!"

White Sox claim Daniel Moskos, send to Charlotte

Former high pick pitcher with problems. That seems about right. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) WOW. What a perfect way to handle the prima donna Bell. Just listen to the man speak. Guillen didn't scream "Hell yes!" when Heath asked his stupid question at the end. He did what a TRUE BASEBALL MAN would do. Just look at Bell like he was nuts. I still have no clue how some of you hate Ozzie Guillen. The man is fascinating! Prima-donna? Ozzie is the biggest prima donna in baseball. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) It's amazing that greg can read that and be fascinated. That was a conversation of absolutely nothing.
-
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 08:14 AM) Kenny Williams Ozzie Guillen (not at the same time as KW though) Hawk Juan Uribe (because he's hilarious) Paul Konerko All at the same time. I feel like Konerko would just be mad and stare.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:03 PM) I can't remember all the specifics of the issue but KW wanting Sale to be the closer after looking so comfortable as a starter had to be the most idiotic thing to consider ever. I dont hate Kenny and if the Youk deal is an indication of what he has in store the next 10 years I am excited about that, but he has made some unbelievably bad moves as GM as well. I don't think he's a bad GM. This is the first acquisition he's made that I was happy about in a long time. Perfect trade. Two complete stiffs for Youk. Nice deal by KW. Is it unfair of me to want a deal like that once in a while? 1) It was everyone but Sale who supported it in the clubhouse if I remember. And it was to protect his arm. But more kudos to Sale for not letting it happen. 2) Those deals don't happen all the time. The Lakers are in the NBA.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) You can make strong arguments for Peavy, Rios and AJ. But AJ and Rios are flat out ridiculous snubs.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) That's all you talk about when it comes to going to games. But for real, I'd give the Marlins something like Floyd + A level prospect for Buerhle. Throw in Humber if you want. The Danks brothers if they want to throw in stuff and pay some oh Mark's obscenely backloaded contract.

Ozzie Guillen and there is no other.

QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) I'd guess that 2006 team was awfully close. That team scored 520 runs in the first half. Yeah... Combine that offense with the pitching of 2005 team and you have a GOAT team. It's a shame the pitching fell off like it did.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) Actual good prospects were given up in those trades though. 1) And none of them became anything, aside from Olivo, Young, and B-Mac. And none of them were great. 2) We ran away with both Freddy trades. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) I don't think we exactly "won" the Javy trade. Javy for 3 years (inconsistent at best) It will look a BIT better if Flowers does something, and Lillibridge was part of the Youk trade, but it certainly wasn't a steal by any means. And it led directly to the BA in CF disaster in 2006. Chris Young = terrible. He was an all-star because the D-Backs needed one. And Javy was good for us for a year, then turned into Lilli-Flower, which became Youk and our current backup.

QUOTE (Dave Weaver @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Anyone left off that should have been included? Anyone included you do not think belongs? Let's get the discussion started! The Sox All-Time Team Two caveats, as I know people are going to jump on them: Luis Aparicio was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1984, not 1894. Working on getting that typo corrected. Joe Jackson played center field prior to coming to the Sox, and played 25 games there his first year, although Hap Felsch did play center during most of Jackson's tenure. Looking forward to your comments. Dave Buehrle as the 5th starter over Cicotte. Only other qualm is Appling-Collins over Aparicio-Fox, but that can easily go either way.
