QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 02:08 PM) Greg...I don't make personal attacks, but you are the stupidest person in the history of the internet. I can't even fathom this and its posts like this that really prove the fact that you are either (a) that stupid or (b) the biggest troll in the history of Soxtalk.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) I actually think Jackson makes more sense as a reserve. I really think we need a right-handed bat off the bench and he can play all the corners in a pinch. In fact, he would have been a perfect fill-in for Dunn last night. I don't like Flowers being our only option from the right side. I don't see a need for both Escobar & ODog. I'm not a huge Escobar fan, but he offers more flexibility defensively (SS & OF) and offensively (switch hitter). I think ODog's days here are numbered, especially if Youkilis looks healthy these next few weeks. ODog is a switch hitter too, just saying.

Dunn finishes the year with 70 home runs, a .400 OBP and a batting average of .170

QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) I knew that I would get torched for this thread, but then I remember tauting de Aza before, and more than anyone on this board. How did that work out? I said that I love Viciedo, but Johnson is probably a better hitter at this point in their careers. Viciedo has 4 doubles and 13 homers in the first half, and his OBP is just .300. That is easy production to replace. He's only 23, and has plenty of time to develop. Have any of you even looked at Johnson's split stats this year? Here are some points for starters. Versus RHP he has 50 walks and only 30 SO. His OBP is .467. His OPS is .1,122 He's hit for more power on the road than at home, so the argument that he's playing in a "band box" doesn't hold water. I know that he struggled the last couple years in the Majors, but he was recovering from a broken wrist. Right now he is performing at a level far to high to ignore. As far as Connor Jackson is concerned; Yes, I do think that he can still rejuvenate his career. Valley Fever is a devastating illness, and completely explains how his production dropped so dramatically. Remember, he was very highly tauted, and put up very good numbers in his first 3 MLB seasons, at a young age. And he is not too old to regain his former hitting prowess. But then you wanted De Aza platooning with Lilli. And Viciedo is a vastly superior hitter to Dan Johnson at this point in their careers.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) I would disagree in your assertion that he is a "selfish prick." As far as the WS, I look at ozzie's whole body of work. Name one other Sox manager who comes close to rivaling what Ozzie did with the Sox? Chuck Tanner? 1) People forget his overall body of work (uh, his RECORD) is pretty impressive with the White Sox, a team with an abysmal past. 2) Then Sox fans everywhere should be thrilled the way it worked out. 3) That is 100 percent true. This quit on the team stuff is all TOTAL BS. If the Sox wanted ozzie he'd be in Chicago. Case closed. Who cares about the last-week semantics of his leaving and "quitting" on the team. If that makes you all feel better to hate on Ozzie for that, go for it. Like Dick Allen said, the Sox didn't want him. Case closed. 4) If you think I am a troll, you are crazy. I'm as good a White Sox fan as anybody on here. Longevity, memories of past teams, and everything else. 5) Ozzie will be a manager until the day he decides he does not want to be a manager. At some point will he be silenced and be another plastic mummy in the dugout and with the press? Perhaps. But he'll be a manager somewhere the next 25 years. 1) A .524 record is not good with rosters that should have been in the playoffs every year besides 2007. It's laughable that you of all people say whole body of work (which is OK at best) because you focus on the best year of Ozzie's career as the linchpin for his entire body of work. 2) So we should be happy our team decided to not let a man under contract blatantly disregard his contract with his boss without some type of return. 3) But...it's not. He did quit. He negotiated with another team. That's basically the definition of quitting. 4) I don't think you're a troll, but I'm pretty sure you're a bigger Ozzie Guillen fan than a White Sox fan. 5) Or until he's fired in a year or two because he's currently doing a piss-poor job managing the Marlins and alienated half their fan base. He's running out of teams where he can get hired based off of his playing days. The only team that will hire him that isn't the White Sox/Marlins will be looking for a sideshow to distract their fans from a s***ty team.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 09:13 AM) Lillian seems to have an affinity for scrubs. First Dallas McPherson and now Dan Johnson? No thank you. I was trying to figure out which good starter Lillian would want benched now that De Aza is awesome and the Elf is gone.

Obama brings up Youkilis in a speech...mixed reaction
Quin replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They were probably doing that stupid "Yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouk" thing while booing. -
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 11:43 PM) wasn't Zach Stewart what we had to show for Daniel Hudson? Sort of like Nestor Molina is what we have to show for Sergio Santos. The joy of Kenny Stanford. Yeah, f*** everyone else in the organization. God knows Kenny only had input for acquiring Hudson and Molina. ONLY them.

Where is our Liriano?

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) The Mighty Quin will have his biggest test on Friday in the Bronx, and I think it's on MLBN for us out-of-towners. Cautiously optimistic. I'm not in NY on Friday...

That game against the Twins was awesome. f*** Danny Valencia.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 06:30 AM) Pablo Ozuna is possibly the greatest bench player in the history of bench players for this very same reason. Ozuna is a pimp. Let's not drag him into this.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 02:18 AM) Why not? The qualifications were white, speedy, and defensively gifted OFers. Bad offensively is just a coincidence. It was a strike out joke.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 01:46 AM) That would be a very "Sunofgold" like nickname. So... no. Fixed

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 01:49 AM) Q it is. You got the Juice now, Q. The Feathered Serpent is also acceptable.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 01:38 AM) 1) Who cares if he negotiated at the end of a horrific season? 2) Coop also negotiated behind Ozzie's back. 1) BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL TO NEGOTIATE WITH A SEPARATE TEAM WHEN CURRENTLY EMPLOYED 2) COOP NEGOTIATED WITH HIS OWN BOSS

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 11:12 PM) Welcome to your new team the White Sox. Hope that the change of scenery helps you out. Please play better than Bob Uecker, Odawg, and Moral. You are the first Jewish player we have had since probably Scott Schoenweis or Ross Baumgarten. You are a grinder thus you should fit in well here. Shalom, New Youk! Aaron Poreda.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 11:02 PM) I don't even remember what my scouting report said but I know it was pretty ridiculous A fastball that was on fire and a curve that spews green poison is what I recall.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) Nah, this one is all you, Q...you're the one that came up with Quetzacoatl, no? I think we just ran with the legend... Kyle came up with the scouting report that inspired it, I came up with Quetzalcoatl and you drove it home.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) I heard he was crying because Lilli was not part of a CF platoon since ADA can't hit lefties Cause of stats and metrics and stuff.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 07:22 PM) Quitana Escobar Rios Reed Bruney Williams Youkillis 1st place Beckham De Aza QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 08:23 PM) What happened to everyone's assumptions about Rios' attitude and lack of passion affecting his game? Is it possible he just has some years where his bat is a noodle and some years where it's perfectly fine? Like many players. Looser clubhouse.

I feel like that's the only nickname that has stuck. High fives Kyle and Shack!

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) Fixed Even better.

The Feathered Serpent reminds me of Buehrle, therefore, I like him. Also, he hasn't walked a batter in 87 at bats.
