  1. We're like 10 games into the season. I wouldn't worry about this until next year. He's not known to be an offensive minded, but with time he should be able to expand his game. Right now it's important for him to learn to take good shots within the flow of the offense instead of trying to force bad shots.
  2. I dont think you understand how free agent recuiting process works.
  3. MVP Rose Per 40: 26.8/4.4/8.2, 55% TS 2018 Rose Per 40: 25.9/4.8/6.5 55.6% TS Looks like he set the clock back by 7 years during daylight saving.
  4. I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about Parker's role on the Bulls. If he doesn't pan out at SF, he's as good as gone next season, no reason to pay $20 Mil for a backup PF with defensive issues. As for how the season is playing out, I love what I seen from WCJ so far, he may not end up being elite in any one aspect but could be a very well rounded C for years to come. Him pairing up with Lauri will be interesting to watch. Lavine has been good at shot making, but he really needs to be a better ball handler and distributor if he's going to be a #1 option (which I dont think he should be) Hutch/Arci has been great energy players off the bench, hope they could continue to grow into better role players or even starters, esp for Hutch. And now that Felicio is getting his burn again, maybe he plays his contract into tradeable? I would really hope so...
  5. I am in the camp that Sox have the resource to bid $300 mil +, and are interested in Manny, we're going to see a lot of these rumors from rival execs and even Manny's people. But I don't think they will end up pulling the trigger if the price gets to that point
  6. Ha, that's one thing on a lot of people's mind after ending the league leading the division again!
  7. Looking ahead, Giants and Niners seem like winnable games. Detroit is fading fast, both games are winnable, I also think we have a good shot of beating Rodgers at Soldier Field. So if we take care of business against the Giant and Niners, take 2 from Detroit. beat A-Rod, we'd most likely be a playoff team. It's not an easy task, but not unlikely either. At that point, the difference between a division winner and a WC team is how well we play against the Vikings.
  8. I hope all these early speculations of Sox being a serious contender isn't used to drive up bidding from Manny's preferred destination.
  9. Yea what got me was after that he was sobbing and had to cover himself with a towel for 2 mins before doing an interview because he never thought he could play like this again.
  10. Watching the end of the Twolves game it was one of the most emotional finishes you will see at a regular season game. Despite the things he said over the years, it was good to see Rose finding the fountain of youth for one night and reminding Chicago and the NBA what could have been.
  11. Derrick Rose dressed up as 2011 Derrick Rose for Halloween.
  12. So it took you a mere 4 weeks to change an opinion that you claimed was based on a hundred years of this franchise’s misery? And you wonder why people don’t take your opinion seriously.
  13. Sorry to break it, your opinion of Chicago QBs do not represent all Bears fans.
  14. When you're getting a $300m contract, the difference between a $300m and $310m contract becomes minuscule. The monetary difference does not outweigh the values the other team could offer - prestige, readiness to compete, org culture, marketability, etc.
  15. I read the first page and projections for Ryu, Marvin and Donaldson to name a few seem way off. As for Machado, I have to agree it will take $350 mil for him to sign here, $20-30 mil above market price. So we could pretty much rule him out given JR’s history.
  16. What I got from this thread is plan: sign everyone for less than what they will actually get so it would fit in our payroll, never mind that White Sox isn't a preferred destination for most of these players.
  17. The signing is <$300k, and is most likely done as a favor to Eloy. Hope this helps repair the business relationship between Eloy and the Sox. If he turns out to be a prospect in any form that’s just bonus.
  18. When I think of an average QB in the league, I think of Flacco, Dalton, and Tannerhill, who has been to playoffs multiple times and one has a SB ring. So being an average QB is actually a pretty high floor. Mitch's number is heavily skewed by the the last 2 games so you'd want to see more of these games out of him before overhyping him. But he's definitely trending in the right direction.
  19. Without trading for Mack, this would have been a barely top 10 defense instead of top 3. So you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
  20. Rooting for Rockies to come out on top today, and let the evil franchises fight for the last spot tomorrow.
  21. It’s wasn’t all pretty, but we are only a Kyle Fuller dropped catch away from 4-0. Think about that for a second.
  22. Rays bullpen are a bunch of journeymen or inexperienced arms. Teams has since followed suit do not have a dominant bullpen by any means. I think it’s a matter of mixing things up and keeping hitters off balance.
  23. It doesn't make sense to me to pay 1/$7M for Shields or someone like him when you could potentially get similar or better production through deploy a strategy that a few teams had success with already. That $7M could be allocated elsewhere.
  24. Do we really need 5 “inning eaters” in 2019? Spend the money to get a quality #2 starter. Roll with Rodon, FA, Lopez, Gio, then an opener for 5th spot, use Covey, Stephens, Adams, or Guerrero as the primary pitcher. We could work this strategy until Cease is ready then we could reevaluate.
