  1. Here is what Kap said exactly:
  2. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious what Chris Johnson and Tosar could do with him if given a chance.
  3. Maybe they have a little and also plan on moving some of those BP arms. With how the market has shaped up, maybe guys like Diekman and Kelly have some value after all? We all know Hendriks and Graveman do.
  4. I'd prefer Gallo over Peralta. At least there is a chance of getting lucky with 40 bombs compared to straight suck-age.
  5. WE HAVE A SOX RUMOR
  6. So we have Eloy, Moncada, Robert, Anderson, and Lynn? I'm not a fan of so many key guys going into this thing. You'd thing with a new manager in a make-or-break year these guys would want to remain with the team.
  7. $13M - Now we ask would you rather have had Thor or Clevinger (plus who knows if Thor even wanted to be here)?
  8. So unless you sign a big name free agent these teams should just SHUT THE f*** UP. Got it.
  9. But we’ve been told no one wants to win more than Jerry! Pathetic.
  10. Exactly. It’s not to say that moving Hendriks isn’t the best course of action to make this team more complete or competitive (because you simply won’t know that until you have hindsight), but let’s also not act like moving him isn’t something that could become a seriously problematic issue and hamper the teams ability to compete.
  11. So it’s ok for the Dodgers to make a hype video about a mediocre player but the Pirates can’t because of their ownership situation? That’s ridiculous. You’re missing the point about what I was saying. You realize the people that run those accounts are not the GM or FO? They have jobs to do with content creation. I think that all teams should take a more creative approach to announce or highlight their new additions. I applaud a fresh take that I personally haven’t seen done before over a generic, boring press release. At least they are trying with the limited options they’re provided. And guess what? It worked. Because look at all the people talking about it.
  12. I think that’s why the Dodgers are clearing space and resetting their tax.
  13. It’s still the Guardians division to lose. They have actually filled areas of need unlike the Sox. Sox are worse today than they were at the end of last season.
  14. It wouldn’t bother me, but he also got a MiLB deal, so I wouldn’t have my marketing/design team creating content for guys that may not even make the team. Velasquez got a major league deal. I don’t have a problem with teams trying to be creative and giving players a little hype. It certain beats the “best shape of their life retrends. Some of these guys only get 1-2 shots, they might appreciate it.
  15. Abreu’s production over the past 4-5 seasons is near the top in the MLB. Look how many years he either led or was near the top in RBI production. He is absolutely one of the most consistent hitters in the league. I don’t doubt for a second he tops his “down” year of 15 HR’s on the Astros.
  16. I actually think it’s neat they are taking the time to showcase any addition, but it is sad that it’s Vince Velasquez of all people. More teams should take an approach to do stuff like this as opposed to the basic graphic/static image we always see. It is creative in its own right, especially the way the jersey is edited to change to the Pirates alternate.
  17. It wouldn’t surprise me. Modern medicine and sports science continues to be developed and improved each and every year. It still is going to require great discipline from the individual player themselves to maintain their bodies.
  18. I honestly think this is true. Thankfully Jerry is 86. It'll be a short period of suffering for us.
  19. It's a good think Hawk is no longer GM or we'd end up with Hendriks for Yastrzemski.
  20. Hahn is so bad at his job is it becoming funny.
  21. I'd say Rodon/Conforto +3-3.5
  22. This is exactly were I'm at with them. Hahn is like a puppy that just got his balls snipped by JR. He's far too timid and incompetent to make a meaningful trade or shake it up. We're going to get the classic "we aren't going to force a deal to make a deal" BS lingo.
  23. The Sox are far from the Rays. Hell, many teams aren’t like the Rays. I also wouldn’t group Hendriks into the same category as Kelly, Harrison, etc. - he’s a legit top 3 closer in baseball. Worth every penny. Neither of us has a crystal ball. I just like the Sox chances with Hendriks at closer over Lopez/Graveman. It’s not unproven that setup arms struggle at closer and closers struggle in setup roles. I love how Lopez broke out of the pen last year but I’m not convinced he is a future star closer in the making. I definitely fall into the category that contending teams that are serious about contending have shutdown proven closers.
  24. Don’t count out the fact that Hahn can’t ever admit failure. He HAD to pick up the option to prove he made the right decision in acquiring Kimbrel and prove he had positive value to other teams (he didn’t).
