  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) Well, he's playing tonight and he's healthy. He has a chance to contribute to a victory. If he wants to ever play, he needs to do something tonight and not be Mr. Whiff. 2-2 and a HR. Mr. Whiff?
  2. I really think that if our line-up is so good that we have to complain about the 24th and 25th men then this team is going to go far. I really like our Bench for the record. Though we really need another outfielder that can play center.... Lilli- provides speed and adequate defense at several positions. Vizquel- our vet. solid Teahen- a good bat, can play several infield positions. 1st, 2nd(i believe), 3rd, some outfield Castro- can argue that both def. and off he is better than Pierzynski
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 05:14 PM) I'm glad we dumped Milledge. Now we just have to dump Teahen and we'll be all set. I feel for Teahen... He got off to a slow start then heated up and got hurt. After the injury he hit good enough. I like the bat off the bench. What is his best position. I thought when he got here everyone said 3rd was it but from what i saw it better not be.
  4. Ozzie said in the pre-game that it was a very difficult choice and that it was hard to tell Milledge he was DFA'd because all of the work he put in. I just think that it was a pure baseball move.
  5. I like Milledge and think he is a good bat. But he was not thrown into a terrible situation where he has seldom played. the position Ozzie put him in the outfield thinking The guy was a career outfielder and could play the position adequately. He Made several terrible plays in one game. To everyone bashing Lillibridge i ask who is the better fielder? who can play more positions? who has more speed? who is the better bunter?
  6. f*** pena f*** ohman and f*** humber!!!!! god damn it ozzy how the f*** do you ever tell anyone you have faith in this guy
  7. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) Jenks is one of the top relievers in all of baseball this season. i did not know 3 games would qualify anyone to be the best reliever in baseball... especially since that team hasn't lead a game to even actually have a need for one.
  8. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) Well the game would be over at least. +1 lol and what a K by Sergio lets go Off. just one score.
  9. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) Games like this are going to kill me throughout the year. If we were really going "all in", we should have brought Jenks back in the bullpen to make it easier. yea because Jenks never blew games right?
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 01:13 PM) Garza is DH'ing for them as well. if this is true, which im hoping is not the case, then wtf is wrong with them. If i am not mistaken they still have a battle going on at second base. So why not give one of those guys a chance to at least hit today? Not only that but your needlessly risking injury to your pitcher. on another note being that this is a cubs, sox game is it being broadcast on any TV station?

    2011 TV Thread

I did not know where else to put this as it is not a current show, but arrested development is a must see for anyone with netflix. I watched all three seasons within the last month and found myself keeled over laughing on several occasions. i really do not understand why it was ended as i think it is funnier than the office. Cannot wait for the movie!!!!!
  12. this list is supposed to be the list of the best right now correct? it looks to me that thy went with some of the bigger names instead of actually looking at stats. Then again there are names on their that i have never heard of which i am ashamed of since i pride myself on knowing pretty much anyones major league roster. Neil? at the same time i wanted to see Rios on the list but other than that maybe Dunn but DH is not on the list. But then it would be a whitesox bias for others.
  13. oh my god do some of these dumb ass sox fans really make the fan base look bad. If they had half a brain they would realize defacing that statue was a terrible idea for one there going to get caught and seeing as the guy started out with the sox and spent a great deal of time here.... My god im only 19 and really have to shake my head at this. Is our generation really that dumb...
  14. I guess there are a ton of incentives that will pay out over 5mil if he meets. I can't remember but i thought i read somewhere that every 5 starts he makes he gets a bump in salary up to 30 starts. So if he is confident he can be as good as last year (why wouldn't he finish somewhere around there) he can make over 5mil this season.
  15. I have not followed the Yankee situation very closely but heard rumblings of them going for this guy. With their desperation for two viable starters why did they not bite? Duchscherer is not an allstar but i think the O's are going to be pretty decent this year. this is unfortunate because they are in one strong division.
  16. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) Rebuild or not, the Cubs likely won't be very good this year. Also, I think you overly focus on the "world series" bump and not on the bigger picture. The Sox need to keep winning to keep their fan base engaged and buying tickets. The Sox have had one of the better decades in their history, and there is a "bump" that comes from that, even if they did squander an even greater opportunity by fading in 2006 and bombing in 2007. Third, nobody is claiming the Sox are going to take any hard core Cub fans, but there is a group of casual baseball fans in Chicago, not to mention bandwagon fans, whose tickets sales are up for grabs. this is mostly what i meant. I'm not saying that the only reason the sox increased payroll was for this. that would be ridiculous. I'm saying that for one the sox have a chance here to take on a larger market, and i would imagine that when discussing a possible payroll increase this was brought up.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) I don't think the Cubs are rebuilding. They should, but they aren'tI agree that they are not rebuilding but it was widely thought that they were going too until they got Pena and traded for Garza.
  18. This thought has been rolling around in my head ever since the slogan "all in" was introduced by the Whitesox. The cubs, as was told countless times towards the end of last season, were supposed to rebuild. this of course was the common belief before the cubs traded for Garza. To me this is a perfect opportunity for the sox to attract some of that fan base away from the north side, and really have a bump in attendance. I was just wondering for one if anyone else thinks that the cubs were a reason the sox decided to add payroll, and if so how much of a possibility is it for us to attract some of that fan base if we have a couple good seasons mixed with a couple more failing seasons by the cubs. Please nothing about not wanting cub fan type people at the ballpark because when it comes down to it who cares if the guy is a dope. He is willing to pay $60 to get in the gates and another $60 for a jersey it will help my team compete.
  19. yea i remember he left the country after an injury or something to that effect.
