  1. Keppinger, Ramirez, and Danks almost 100% will get claimed. Dunn is likely to get claimed, Rios is unlikely to get claimed. Konerko also probably doesn't get claimed.
  2. I am cool with all of them still being here now if no good offers were made for them. Saving money this year doesn't do that much good anyway. I will be upset if at least one of Rios, Ramirez, and Dunn isn't gone by opening day next year, either through an August wavier deal or an off-season trade. Then it reaches the point that paying those three inhibits getting other pieces for the future.

  4. Options are for the entire year. You don't waste another option if he's already spent time in the minors this year.
  5. Haven't been there since the 90s. Deep Ellum was the place to go at the time. Wouldn't have any idea now though.
  6. If I'm Cruz' agent, I advise him that's a terrible idea. He's not getting much of a free agent contract if he has to sit out the first 50 games next year.
  7. Perhaps there is a deal in place with the Pirates, but the Pirates are trying to keep it from getting out until the last minute to prevent a reaction move by STL.
  8. The mlb.com trade deadline special is not the same thing as the MLB Network special. The online version is the same 1-hour loop over and over again and has not covered any actual trades or rumors from today. Anybody watching the actual MLBN special? They saying anything interesting?
  9. I agree with keeping him in AAA until September, especially since he's already had an option used on him this year.
  10. And it is Danks getting the spot. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/362620088089718784

  12. Also, an appeal is going to be difficult to win in the midst of others on the same list admitting guilt and accepting the 50 game ban.
  13. I think that when trading for prospects, people overvalue quality instead of quantity. You can have one prospect who is a 75% chance to be an impact player in the majors. If you get four prospects who have 50%, 30%, 20%, and 10% chances to be impact players in the majors, there's also a 75% chance that at least one of them will be, plus the 15% or so chance that more than one of them will be.
  14. Stop and wave when you go by my house.
  15. What would the Royals want with Rios? Do they think they are contending next year?
  16. Instead of Garcia, how about a silhouette and the words "#2 Draft Pick"?
  17. Well, with the Sox clearly rebuilding, it would make sense to cut Wise loose and let Danks have that spot.
  18. I haven't seen anything yet either. They sent down an OF when they called up Rienzo, so my guess is that they bring an OF back up to replace Peavy. Danks would be my guess. EDIT: Oh yeah, just saw the post above. If Wise is ready to come off the DL, then he's the one who will get that spot.
  19. That's part of the reason I'd rather eat money in these trades to get back better prospects. The more money the Sox have to spend in the offseason, the higher chances they hand out a contract that makes Dunn look like a steal.
  20. Yeah, $10M sounds good to me. All of the $4.17M that he's owed for the rest of this year and $5.83M of the $12.5+$1M buyout he's owed for next year.
  21. I have to think that was part of the logic in taking a lower return and sending Peavy's entire contract to Boston. Now there are more suitors to bid for Rios since the Sox can eat most of his contract.
  22. He can also wait until the end of August to decide. Nobody is going to claim him off waivers.
  23. Yes, he's worth one lottery-ticket type prospect and eating most of what he's owed.
  24. 1B. I've seen nothing from Tank defensively to suggest that he should be at 1B over Dunn. Maybe a couple days a week at most.
