I agree with that, though it's hard to imagine any of these guys turning down the Bears. An opportunity to coach a team that has won 29 games in the past three seasons does not come around often. 90% of the time the open jobs are with teams that have won something like 15 games in the past three seasons.
First of all, we don't know exactly how much he admitted to Oprah. He may very well admit to having doped himself without admitting to the larger scheme.
Secondly, I would think he discussed the legal ramifications with his attorneys before talking to Oprah so I doubt he's saying anything that could land him in jail.
It has nothing to do with the media. I'm fully capable of looking up historical attendance and win totals on my own and calculating that Sox attendance falls well below that of several teams who have won significantly less. I believe that ownership gives management a budget that is partly based on attendance and that management does the best it can to field a winning team based on that budget. I don't for a second believe that ownership is putting one dollar less into payroll than they are capable of.
Well, that's your opinion, but teams with fewer total wins, postseason appearances, and WS wins, have had better attendance in the last 20 years, so by comparison, Sox fans are spoiled.
He was the one cherry picking. It's not just a few bad play calls, it's several monumentally stupid play calls, and those kinds of things can't continue if ND is going to get beyond where they are now.
