  1. Great, I only have to spend $100 in gas to get a pair of tickets worth $14!
  2. No, not at all. If KSU lost to Baylor 98-97 because of their defense, then Klein probably gets my vote, but he choked big time when it counted.
  3. And Klein just wet himself in the biggest game of the year. That outweighs a bunch of stats.
  4. If you signed your first professional contract at age 19 or older, you have to be protected after four years. If you signed at 18 or younger, it's five years.
  5. Hot rumor down here is that FSU has told the ACC that if they want them to stick around they need to get Louisville to replace Maryland instead of UConn.
  6. Well, there's this thing where he takes the ball and runs with it, and does it pretty well. You can't just look at his passing stats.
  7. I think getting the Big Ten Network on in households in NY and NJ is the biggest reason for their interest.
  8. There's a big difference between getting induced 2 days before the due date and 20 days before the due date.
  9. You could always have her induced on December 30.
  10. The vending machine came by about an hour ago and to my utter shock, he filled one of the rows with Twinkies. I was in the middle of debating whether or not to buy out the machine to see what I could re-sell them for when I saw this news and decided against my plan.
  11. I was assuming that the SEC was not an option for FSU and comparing it to other conference options.
  12. Clemson, FSU, and Virginia Tech all just got guaranteed home-and-home series with Notre Dame at a minimum of two out of every six years. That's not insignificant when considering their decisions to leave the ACC.
  13. This is the maximum-chaos scenario a couple of friends and I put together last night. The Georgia Tech wins are quite a stretch (and I suppose USC is now too with Barkley out), but not impossible: Georgia Tech beats Georgia Oregon State beats Oregon Florida State beats Florida Stanford beats UCLA Clemson beats South Carolina USC beats Notre Dame Texas beats Kansas State Wisconsin beats Nebraska Miami beats Florida State (were unaware of Miami's decision at the time, so I guess substitute Georgia Tech?) Georgia beats Alabama UCLA beats Stanford Projected BCS Standings (mostly complete guesses on our part): Georiga 11-2 LSU 10-2 Notre Dame 11-1 Texas A&M 10-2 Alabama 11-2 Florida 11-2 Clemson 11-1 Oregon 10-2 Kansas State 10-2 Oklahoma 10-2 Texas 10-2 Florida State 11-2 Oregon State 10-2 South Carolina 10-3 BCS Championship: Georgia vs LSU Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma vs Oregon Sugar Bowl: Notre Dame vs Kansas State Orange Bowl: Georgia Tech vs Rutgers Rose Bowl: UCLA vs Wisconsin
  14. I'm aware of the circumstances, but the reality is their schedule strength is so bad they aren't going to get considered as a 1-loss team.
  15. I've never said ND should play in a BCS bowl with three losses, or even with two losses unless their schedule strength is extremely high.
  16. You don't get to play in the 4th-5th best conference, schedule two FCS teams, and then complain about the computer rankings.
  17. Just like they were going to be easily beaten by Michigan, Stanford, Oklahoma, . . .
  18. That's why I suggested skipping the game and just having a FG contest.

  20. And as a result, Soxtalk is quite busy during weekdays.
  21. Just cancel the game and make it a FG kicking contest. Start at 35 yards and move back 2½ yards each round and the first one to miss loses.
  22. There was a year we were pretty bad and got into the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon State, but maybe that was before the BCS.
  23. Wait a minute--they're 12 days away from holding the ACC Championship game and Miami can suddenly decide they will give up that spot to allow this to count as a year's worth of postseason ban? That seems messed up to me.
  24. The question is how much of that can be attributed to AJ's hitting compared to his game-calling? There was no question the Sox lineup was better with AJ.
