Pointed out by a friend of mine from Philly: Philadelphia Eagles last win: Sunday 9/30 Philadelphia Phillies last win: Monday 10/1

That's fair, but impractical. Are we going to have the refs keep compasses and protractors to measure halfway between 15 yards and the spot?'
-
OK, thanks. That does seem to eliminate that loophole.
-
They wouldn't, but if throwing the flag makes the play unreviewable, then that's what they should do.
-
Have you seen anything in print that backs that up? Everything I've seen says that if a coach throws a challenge flag on a play that would otherwise automatically be reviewed, the play becomes unreviewable. It doesn't specify that it applies only to the coach of the team that did not score or turned the ball over.
-
In his TMQ column, Gregg Easterbrook pointed out a loophole in the 'red flag on a scoring play' rule that some coach could take advantage of: 1) Team A scores a touchdown on a play that is almost certain to be reversed upon review. 2) Team A's coach throws the challenge flag with the specific intent of having the review nullified. Team A gets a 15 yard penalty, but the touchdown stands.

Unless NCAA sanctions are involved--then things happen that haven't happened.

If you live within the B1G's footprint, the network is standard on pretty much every provider.
-
Up until 4 years ago, I had Dish Network. Then I decided I really wanted MLB Network, so I switched to DirecTV. Their customer service was absolutely terrible. I was just waiting for another provider to pick up MLB Network. Finally U-verse did so I went to the local AT&T store to schedule an installation. They told me they couldn't get anybody out for a month. I told them they needed to find a way to do that quicker or I wouldn't switch. They insisted that they were really backed up and there was no way to do it quicker. About a week later the local cable company finally started offering MLB Network so I switched to them. So, I don't know how good U-verse is because I never actually got it, but if you can't do an install for a month that's a major red flag for me. I had working service from the cable company within 48 hours of making the initial call. Oh, and while I was switching to cable I switched my internet from AT&T to the cable company as well so that's my big middle finger to AT&T.

It does have a 'Customize' button on the site, so maybe one of the customizations you could get is to replace the Twins logo with a Sox logo. -

The defense being great is a big part of why ND likely covers (this is assuming that the line really is at or above 10). ND plays a lot more low-scoring games compared to most teams. The bettors seem to have not adjusted to that by making ND either too big of a dog or too big of a favorite in nearly all of their games. Also, even if ND's offense isn't good enough to score a bunch of points against Alabama, they are good enough to string a few first downs together and run some clock. I don't see them just going 3-and-out every single time they have the ball. Finally, the SEC has won the last 6 championship games, which has very little to do with this year's game but will influence the line. Always look for "sucker" factors that push the line one way or the other. -
Why would you admit that?

He's a RS Freshman, and USC hordes QBs. They turn to s*** in the NFL, but they are amazing at USC. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that he would have started for 90% of teams. Hell, he would have started for ND and they're #1. -

The backup was inexperienced for sure, but he's awfully talented. Probably would have started for 90% of FBS teams. Maybe not the 16th best team, but certainly no pushover given the circumstances and pressure ND was facing. Not exactly like beating Auburn to reach the SEC title game. -

Yes, they had a tough schedule as well. -

3 of USC's losses were to Top 10 teams and another was to a Top 15 team and none were by more than 11 points, so yeah, that's how the computers rank you in the Top 20 despite 5 losses. -

I didn't say that the letdown excused ND's poor play. I said that it was a trap to bet ND all the way up to -13 the week after a big win. -
It was indeed Dilfer's opinion.

Sagarin Ratings of opponents: ND / Alabama 8 / 7 9 / 11 16 / 20 20 / 33 37 / 36 39 / 43 52 / 54 62 / 65 66 / 87 73 / 84 113 / 127 121 / 204 ND had the tougher schedule by a fair margin, and also won every game. -
how would YOU fix the sox attendance woes?

I drove the Ike back and forth from Harlem to Manheim every day for 5 years. That made the Dan Ryan seem empty. -
Whatever line you set, I'm going to bet the under and then flood Twitter with tweets about the Sox.

I don't go out on Black Friday. It terrifies me. Besides, you realize that there are football games on all day, right?
