  1. Yes, I get is, the teams ND beat stink because ND beat them, and Oregon is so awesome racking up huge wins against Cal and Colorado. And Oklahoma was a great win for KSU and Stanford will be a great win for Oregon, but those same teams were overrated when ND beat them.
  2. If money is really an issue: You can rent a car for about $150/week and round-trip gas would be about $150. Greyhound is $88 round-trip.
  3. They get to if they understand anything about football. Margin of victory, especially for a team whose strength is their defense, doesn't really mean a lot. I've watched a couple of Oregon's games. Their QB wouldn't have all day to throw like he has every game so far this year.
  4. Know what's closer to South Bend than Detroit? Chicago.
  5. Sox trading Peavy has about the same chance of happening as Romney winning the election that just happened.
  6. That's a bunch of BS. ND's defense would keep them in the game against anybody.
  7. Wouldn't go more than 3 years guaranteed but would do up to 2 years worth of vesting options. Doesn't matter though, I don't see the Sox as a realistic spot for him.
  8. Gruden has his dream job, and I've heard that the buyout in his ESPN contract is obscene.
  9. Everybody likes the idea of 3-ways but very few people actually go through with it.
  10. That's a hilarious statement coming from you.
  11. But that leads back to the question as to whether or not a fetus is a human being, so it's a scientific and not a moral question.
  12. That's a terrible analogy. It takes a lot more effort for a person to get an illegal abortion than to get illegal drugs.
  13. Great, no legislating morality. Rape, theft, and murder are now all legal.
  14. That's going to be incredibly rare. There are hardly any documented cases of that happening before abortion was legal.
  15. The woman? Zero. The felony should be performing the abortion, not obtaining it. The doctor? Prison time + loss of medical license.
  16. Of course more preventive measures would help, but there are always going to be people who will be in that situation and we have to have some kind of line where the rights of the fetus supersede the rights of the woman.
  17. Because a human being's right to live trumps a woman's right to choose, and lumping abortion in with issues of contraception/sex education makes that point harder to make because in the latter issues a human being's right to live is not at stake and therefore the woman's choice is more important.
  18. I see where you are coming from on #4 and I agree with you, but I also think the pro-life movement needs to give up on that battle in order to win the war. You aren't going to get pro-life candidates elected en masse without allowing rape/incest exceptions, so save the lives of the ones that you can for now and see how attitudes change down the road.
  19. I think it would help refocus the issue on to the life of the child and not the rights of women.
  20. Probably still plenty of free agents still available at that point.
  21. Right, but my point is that when the fetus is a human being really trumps any other arguments about abortion. If a fetus is considered a human being, then women's rights and all that other stuff is secondary.
  22. Oh, if you're just wanting to go to Vegas and not dead set on it being New Year's, then definitely go some other time. It will cost half as much and maybe less. Also, depending on where you live and how much time you spend in casinos that are local to you, you can accumulate time on a players card that get you even better deals on rooms. If you're anywhere near Hammond or Joliet, those are Ceasar's properties and if you play enough there, you can get rooms free or dirt cheap at their Vegas properties, which include Ceasar's, Rio, Bally's, Paris, Planet Hollywood, and Harrah's.
  23. They can do what they want with their own bodies, just not the body of the other human being living inside of them. Again, that argument fails if you recognize the fetus as a human being.
  24. And I'm saying that living in a society where protecting human life is not the top priority is very dangerous.
  25. I would be hesitant to give up De Aza's OBP on a team that sorely needs it, but the one thing none of us really knows is what the market is for specific players. If De Aza is in high demand to the point that he nets a good return, then the Sox have to consider moving him.
