QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 06:53 PM) No reason, he's had enough chances with this organization. Just a total scouting blunder Before we signed Jackson, I really thought Avi's continued employment would dissuade from watching many games this year. Then Jackson was signed and LaRoche quit, and I started thinking it'd be interesting to see him as the DH. I'm not sure why I changed my mind. His offense is as putrid as his defense.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 06:39 PM) Rodon sucks today 15 starts, 8 of them quality, 1 of them high quality. He usually sucks. Also, get Avi the f*** out of there. I'll ditch my Saladino grudge if it send Avi away permanently. What a f***ing clown.

A little late on the thread. Had to mow the lawn so the butthole next door doesn't call the city. Go Sox!

I know that stuff, and I'm not saying he will hit those numbers, or that I'll be disappointed if he doesn't. I just think it's a fun way to show how absurdly good he's been so far.

I was thinking about the ROY thing too. If Anderson continues this pace for the rest of the year, he will have 142 hits, 35 doubles, 4 triples, 18 HRs, 35 RBIs, 75 Rs and 9 steals. It also puts his WAR at 5.8. I think that puts him ahead of Mazara but behind Fulmer. He'd definitely have a shot though.
-
I know Anderson's supposedly new to the game, but he plays like he's been doing this for a long time. How many rookies out there would have stayed too close to second and been forced out at third on that one? Instead, this dude scores. He plays like a smart veteran.

Happy Independence Day! Go Sox!

In 22 games, TA has 11 multi-hit games. He only has five 0fers. Pretty incredible. By comparison, in his first 22 games, Francisco Lindor had ten 0fers, 6 multi-hit games. He also had 3 XBHs and 4 BBs.

Yeah, as much as people like to act like Q is a victim of poor run support, in the last couple of starts he's been a victim of not being very good. In the last five starts, he only has two quality starts (two of those starts were disasters, where he gave up more runs than IP). Out of 16 starts this season, he has 7 high quality starts (at least 7 IP, no more than 3 ER). By comparison, Chris Sale has 12 high quality starts and only one disaster start. If Jose Quintana wants to start winning ball games, he needs to start pitching better. Dude is certainly not an ace.

f***ing f***. I wait, wait, wait for Tim Anderson to hit, and what do they do? Cover his AB by focusing on some douchebag fan in a horse mask. What a load of s***. f*** Benetti. f*** Stone. f*** their constant guests who spend innings talking about random s*** I don't care about. These guys sit up there and spend 50% of the time talking about things other than baseball. How about shutting the f*** up and letting me watch a baseball game? Oh, and good job, Melk. -

DFA Shuck and Albers after this game, regardless of outcome. This needs to be the final straw. Also, how was Purke a first round draft pick? He's terrible. -

With "f***ing like a cat", the scoreless streak, and the GW double in NY, Albers has more memorable moments in one year than pretty much any middle reliever I can recall. That said, it's time for him to go. DFA- he sucks. -

Why should we fire Robin? Did Robin make Putnam walk the bases loaded? Did he make Robertson incapable of completing an inning yesterday? Said he make Shields historically s***ty? Robin isn't perfect, but he is not the reason this team sucks. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) They're going to win today. Robin's job likely depends on winning this game and the baseball gods seem to want to f*** us hard this season so it just makes too much sense. Oh cool. We even get a "winning sucks too!" post. WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?!?! -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 01:08 PM) This game has a 3-2 loss all over it. I'm fine with b****ing about bad things that have already happened, even to a hyperbolic level. I know I do it. But I really hate the predictive pessimism. If you're so certain this game is screwed, why don't you go do something else? It's good weather in Cleveland, it's good weather here in Texas. Are you under hurricane watch wherever you live? For the love of God, go do something you enjoy! -

They hit one ball hard, we hit two. Our pitcher threw one more pitch than theirs. The game is tied. No reason to slit the wrists just yet, people. -
