Yes we all understand how it works. But that's why there's individual stats defensively and offensively.

His DRS numbers were actually decent. It's just the other defensive categories where that wasn't the case.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Yeah well that would have been nice. Unfortunately he played like the Moncada we were all afraid that might turn up when we traded for him. -.3 in offensive WAR and -1.5 in Defensive War.

Oh goodness. We're not at panic yet. But there wasn't a whole lot of good last year. I wouldn't call a huge amount of injuries and poor play "part of the plan". I liked where Lopez and Tim Anderson where last year. That's about it.

I think without a major step forward from the players Rick Hahn brought in the past few years this year we're going to be in "uh oh" territory. Kopech being out for a year certainly doesn't help and who knows how his play will be when he returns. But let's see what happens.

It needs a kick because so far the rebuild isn't going as planned.

Pending White Sox Move? (*May contain partially digested news)
In an ideal world Jose would just stay at DH because defensively Yonder is superior. Nelson Cruz would have been interesting on that 1 year deal. In 26 innings in the outfield he was actually +1 in DRS which is curious. I'm sure that wouldn't have remained there but interesting to mention.

It's a wait and see approach. If they turn the corner great. If not they should be gone after next year. I never have to "hope" someone gets fired. If they are bad enough the results show it and the rest is moot.

I'm sure it did. However, how far will that go if there's a huge organizational problem developing talent? I didn't say it was. But they should be worried about how everything's gone now. Right now it looks like they are trending in the front direction.

I think they need to stay the course for one more year and see where it leads us. It's a good indication of how well our coaching staff/player development goes. If not (I don't think this will happen) I think the entire front office needs to be swept out along with probably the coaching staff.

Don't you think that says something's extremely wrong with the player development? I won't stay it's a desperation move just yet to "save" the rebuild. But so far the onfield play from the top players that we've traded for has been promising.

Next playoff team...maybe. I have no idea if half the players that Rick Hahn has traded for/drafted for this rebuild will be assets or hindrances going forward. So far the on field play plus the injuries hasn't given me a warm and fuzzy feeling about our chances in 2020. At this point it seems to me we're all hoping that Eloy takes off right out of the gate and frankly he needs to.

No see above. It would be cool. But I think there chances are close to zero and it isn't the right course of action.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Perfect because I've made it clear before that I want zero free agents added this year. There are a dozen question marks with the young players right now. A ton of bad play combined with guys making their debut this year. I want them to stay the course and continue to add pieces in the draft/trade.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
No. I'll reiterate I think the chance that we are chosen is close to zero. Right now I think the Phillies and the White Sox are being used. I'm not sure either player actually wants to land in either place. So the agents are going to drag this process along until hopefully somebody else jumps in. Boras's last call for bids is going to be at the very last second.

I'd like Harper more than Manny so in short yes I would. But overall this process has been fairly irritating for me atleast. I'd like to see a shit storm for their agents when the teams with the most money are trying to bleed drop out.

Honestly it would be hilarious if the Phillies and the White Sox dropped out for both. That's what I'm hoping for at this point.

Hey guys....bad news. Japan will have an earthquake again. Maybe in 2018...maybe in 2019. Sometime in the future though for sure. Just have to wait for those tectonic plates to slip. But it'll definitely happen. Can't believe this forum fell for this shit again.
