  1. It's so clear AA is talking about Shark in this press conference. Just a good cat and mouse game right now. Who will blink first? Find out on the next episode of DBZ.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) That's all smoke I think. If they don't want to pay the price, they won't make the playoffs, that simple. Because their pitching is pretty bad. Definitely alot of smoke. Plus they are one of the teams we have to go through. Fine you dont want to trade for our pitching. We'll just use it to leap frog you for the Wild Card spot.
  3. Ben Nicholson-Smith ‏@bnicholsonsmith 58s58 seconds ago AA says, in French, that #Bluejays are still trying to add pitching https://twitter.com/bnicholsonsmith Mike Wilner ‏@Wilnerness590 46s46 seconds ago AA: We weren't too thrilled about trading some of our better prospects for rentals. Getting better doesn't have to mean reliever or starter. https://twitter.com/Wilnerness590
  4. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:02 PM) Giving up good prospects for a team 3 games under .500 at the end of July makes the least sense. You do understand they might not be in the next 3 days. They could be at 500. The trade deadline isnt today. They are 4.5 games back from the second Wild Card.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:42 AM) Calling it now: Sox win 3/4 against Boston, stand pat with team, slowly dwindle into last place the weeks following. If they want to win they need to add. Standing pat really makes the least sense out of all the moves.
  6. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:33 AM) Does Shark make this start?
  7. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) But how can you attribute those results to him when it's not clear which moves were made/inspired by which executive? Therein lies the insulation in which unfettered loyalty is conceived. That's fair
  8. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:38 AM) Joel Sherman ‏@Joelsherman1 2m2 minutes ago AL executive: "As of today I am comfortable saying Price doesn't get traded, and doubtful on Samdardzija" If neither moves SP mkt dims That sounds like some major blowing of smoke.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) I agree with DA's points too and him and I have been beating that drum for a while but I don't agree on your conclusions. How does Rick Hahn not having full control take away from his potential as an executive? He's a modern baseball man. KW is not and frankly acts irrationally for an attempt at a quick win. Besides, there are very few front offices where one guy has full control. The difference between our front office is that there are two guys running it and they are on different ends of the spectrum when it comes to operations. That's a big difference from what you see in Oakland with Beane having Zaidi (now Forst) as his side kick, different than Theo and Jed on the North Side and different than Jon Daniels and Preller before Preller left, Friedman and Zaidi in LA, LaRussa and Stewart in Arizona, and on and on and on. Besides, this type of structure allows for them to both be insulated. What more would you expect from the most loyal org in all of baseball? His potential is being discussed because of the results given so far.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) This is fair, Santiago for Eaton looks like a fair trade for both teams. The Youkilis trade was a nice trade as well. Yeah the Santiago-Eaton trade worked out fairly well for both teams. Hopefully the Jays give in and trade for Shark before the game. Who wants to take bets on it? I think he'll still be here.
  11. Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 55s55 seconds ago #BlueJays still talking with #WhiteSox about Samardzija. He's scheduled to pitch at 7:10 pm ET tonight. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi
  12. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:17 AM) This year has certainly been a mess for the most part, but can you really blame Hahn for 2013/2014? When he took over we had the worst farm system in the game and very few assets on the major league team. You can't expect that to turn around in a such a short time. Here's the problem. Really going back the only good move(But still up for discussion due to Garcia) is the Peavy trade. The moves he has been trying to make havent exactly worked out. Heck if Kenny wasnt here we might not of had Jose Abreu. That thought is scary.
  13. Well you were indeed correct raBBit. I however agree with Dick Allen's points and I was talking about similar things last week. When something goes wrong it's KW's fault. But when it goes right like in the winter meetings it's all Rick Hahn. We really should have almost zero faith in Rick Hahn right now. What he's produced in 3 years hasnt been good. You guys wonder why Kenny said he wanted to get more involved? That would be why. I think he's starting to lose faith.
  14. Honestly I have more of a desire to trade with the Blue Jays now than ever before. Clearly AA is in desperation mode. The Rockies got a hell of a return back. Plus they dumped salary.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) Biggest thing was bucket-of-suck came in and said sox have deals in place for smarj with TOR and SF but is being told to wait until boston series. He also said that there is infighting in FO and that "kw is in charge" Well I guess I was wrong in that case. I'll have to go back and read the replies.
  16. Looks like I missed quite a bit
  17. I want to see the minor league players involved
  18. I like the Q-Puig swap idea.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 11:03 PM) Yes. But it's Fenway. Could be a long evening. An 11-9 type win again?? He doesnt suck like John Danks
  20. Alrighty then. Good win. Got over Danks s*** start.
  21. De Aza at the plate...lol cant make this s*** up
  22. Puig or Jay Bruce are some guys I wouldnt mind adding for sure.
