  1. Yeah why the f*** is Bonifacio playing...?
  2. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 23, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) The main problem is that our batters aren't tough outs against strike-throwers. We consistenly lose the pitchcount battle- it's all I pay attention to now. Foul that s*** off like crazy first time through. Piss the pitcher off. Play the GAME, not the sport. Shuck had a real good AB against Perkins. Tyler should have ended the game where the pitches were thrown.
  3. Get a room you two... better yet block each other and call it day.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) No team can afford a 400 OPS hitter...especially when they're scuffling so badly to turn over the line-up. I don't care if it's Ozzie Smith or Omar Vizquel out there because there's just too many other defensive black holes. Blame Melky, LaRoche, Abreu, Ramirez. These guys are super underachieving at this point. If they are at career norms Sanchez's bat won't even matter.
  5. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 23, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) No dude your s*** is tiresome. Every game thread the same s***. You question everything. Sheesh relax. Would love to see you manage. Not robins fault this piece of s*** dont swing I think he's pissed Robin didn't PH for him. I probably would have used Soto myself; you can't have people staring at strikes right in your wheelhouse. I rather see Flowers K with a homerun cut.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2015 -> 05:56 PM) May owes the White Sox a dinner tab....4 of career 6 victories, top two strikeout performances. This line-up is cinnamon toast crunch without Avi. Cabrera and Sanchez need to sit. But might not have another option in LF, unfortunately. Sanchez is fine. He's in there for his defense. Melky on the other hand...
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 23, 2015 -> 12:38 PM) I'm just waiting for Abreu to go on one of his absolutely bonkers stretches. He needs to take walks first because he has shown he'll swing at absolute s***.
  8. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 22, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) Lloyd McClendon had a great quote today about how his guys are pressing and it's leading to them swinging at pitches out of the zone and how he's been emphasizing "take your walks" all week. We'll see if his message gets through to the Mariners but the Sox would do well to consider similar advice. I will say that I thought Jose and Avi got "aced" a couple of times last night with RISP, and there wasn't much they could have done to work a better count. But there were certainly other opportunities this season where it made sense to take a few freaking pitches with a wild pitcher on the mound. Salazar had no fear against our best hitters. He just went after them and they had no answer.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) Given that he's a rookie, I flat out want to see production from him before he moves up in the order, unless the team reaches "throw in the towel" point. Fair enough but seriously, I like watching Sanchez bat with runners on versus no runners on. He's been a lot of better I believe.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2015 -> 12:07 PM) To note, sanchez is 5 for his first 24, good for a .208 batting average with 0 walks. Putting that player 2nd doesn't scream "improved offense!" to me. I think if you put Sanchez in the two hole he may be a little bit more patient. He's a smart baseball guy.
  11. Yeah I'm about at the point where you need to shake things up. The line up needs guys who will make contact when people get on. Not K machines like LaRoche and Melky with RISP. I would move Sanchez up behind Eaton and bat Alexei 9th. Move Melky before the C spot. Then Abreu, Garcia, LaRoche Becks/Conor
  12. Just win. Twins should be swept. NO MORE f***ING EXCUSES OR FIRE RV!
  13. That sucked. Danks is a really bad pitcher. He'll have his good starts but they'll mostly be s***. We just gotta put on the shades and deal with it. They got people on tonight but the hitters failed miserably with situational hitting.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ May 21, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Once they got to 18-17, I don't think it's much to ask for them to come home from the long trip at 26-26. So it's not a must win, but at least go 8-7 the next 15. Truthfully, a nice 5-game winning streak wouldn't suck right now.
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 21, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Right? He came up to me and said, "that's my ball" and I looked at all my friends and two were cracking up and my one mature friend said "don't" because he knew nothing good could come of it. I just told him unless a kid walks up in the next few minutes it's my ball. Then he went back to his seat and started saying I should have to buy him a beer and "that's how we do it here." It was the 8th inning and I said if he grabbed a beer man I would buy him a beer. Gotta love a thirty something year old man who comes to the game by himself with a catcher's glove telling me "how we do it" at the Sox stadium. Yeesh was he drunk or just a chode?
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 21, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) I went to the game last night, now 0-5, and got a ball from a Abreu. I was sitting first row and the guy a few seats over was adamant that Abreu was trying to give him the ball. He pestered me about it for 5 minutes. This man was > 30 years old and brought a catchers mitt to the game so he could catch a foul ball. If you are this guy and you are lurking on SoxTalk please, ditch the catcher's glove. Who does that. Whoever catches the ball catches the ball.
  17. Jennings just wasn't throwing strikes tonight. He walked guys and got into hitter counts and just failed. You can't really crucify anyone. STOP f***ING WALKING PEOPLE.
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 20, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) Ramirez needs a day off.. I'd give him a couple. Let Beckham play a couple of days.
  19. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 20, 2015 -> 06:08 AM) Carlos Rodon (1-0, 4.96 ERA) vs. Shaun Marcum (0-0, 1.80 ERA) Hopefully Rodon and the Sox can turn it around tonight. HickoryHuskers lead us to 6 straight wins with his game threads. I think I can do the same, maybe better. I'm OK with that and I bet he would be too.
