  1. Worst case scenario for the Sox now* is Twins taking Jay and Red Sox Fulmer (which has been mocked in places) *unless they really do love Stephenson
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 05:32 PM) Er, not sure why we're asking for no spoilers? DirtySox said Tate was his guy and then said the Rangers were taking his guy
  3. With Bregman gone, good chance the Red Sox take Fulmer. Apparently they're between him and Benintendi.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 05:24 PM) Is there anyone that spoils the mlb draft like there is for NFL? Yeah, I had the first pick spoiled on Twitter, even if it was obvious
  5. I know there's mitigating circumstances, but the MLB draft is such a letdown of a spectacle compared to the NFL draft. And there's approximately a 99 to 1 scouting to statistics ratio, with the 1 percent being batting average and home runs.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Jay appears to be a fly ball pitcher. Some good swings by the righties off him. Before today he'd given up 0 HR in 60.1 IP.
  7. For us Fulmer fans, the big pick is the Rockies at 3. Sources saying they're between Jay and Rodgers. The Rangers at 4 want Rodgers, and if he's gone, word is they'll take Bregman, and word is the Red Sox at 7 will take Bregman, but if he's not there, they'll take Fulmer. So basically according to info, if the Rockies take Jay at 3, Fulmer should fall to the White Sox.
  8. If the White Sox had a choice between Iglesias and Avi Garcia in the Peavy trade, it's a damn shame they picked Avi. Although I wouldn't have said at the time Iglesias's offence could be this good.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) OPS under .400 now. He's just not hitting enough to keep his spot in lineup. Keep him on the roster as a defensive replacement .155/.197/.197. Absolutely abysmal. Just give up and put Gordon in there, and against lefties Gordon at third and Bonifacio at second. It says a lot about the season that it's complete madness the Sox absolutely should be playing Gordon Beckham all the time, but there you go.
  10. Horrible, awful start for Dykstra
  11. Erik keeping up that nice K:BB ratio, gave up a lot of hits though Knights used Junior Guerra as a reliever
  12. *TIM* *ANDERSON* *WALKED*
  13. *refuses to use Robertson in a tie game* *uses him down 1 run in the 9th*
  14. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) He's a stud but of course they had to put in Dan f***ing Jennings with the game on the line yesterday. Robin is a moron. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) Putnam was unavailable yesterday. Was he? Stone said he was unavailable for a couple of games in Texas but nothing about yesterday
  15. Wait a second, you're telling me pinch-hitting for Tyler Flowers late in a close game is a... good idea?
  16. Putnam is a stud. 26 strikeouts in 17.2 innings.
  17. That is so stupid. Robertson not in the game because of the silly save concept.
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) 7.54 ERA, it has to regress to the mean right? Not sure what number is, but it's got to be lower than 7.54. Yeah, he should have an ERA around 4
  19. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) You seem to be finding perverse pleasure in his performance falling lately. You mention it in every post. Not at all, I wish it were otherwise, but at the time I predicted it to fall I had a lot of people telling me why it wouldn't
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) Avi's lost his line drive swing from earlier in the year, and he's back to chopping everything to the left side. I told y'all high line drive rates are completely unsustainable
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) You guys are nuts. Sox don't have the roster to be pinch hitting here and there. All the candidates to pinch hit suck as well. A lot of people on this site don't seem to grasp the concept that there are varying levels of suck. I'm continuously seeing "no point in pinch-hitting for/replacing this guy, they all suck", despite the fact one sucks way worse than the other.
  22. 2014: Daniel Webb 5.4 K-BB%, 4.32 SIERA Zach Putnam 12.2 K-BB%, 3.37 SIERA 2015: Daniel Webb (AAA) 6.4 K-BB%, 4.91 FIP (no SIERA for AAA) Zach Putnam 20.3 K-BB%, 2.80 SIERA It worked out because of a well turned double play but I have no idea why they're using Webb in high-leverage situations over Putnam. Also no idea why they're not pinch-hitting for Flowers/Sanchez.
