  1. Some careful stalking of Twitter seems to reveal that Rodon has dumped his (White Sox-supporting) girlfriend just before he sealed his bonus. Dude is ice cold.
  2. "More than $6.45m" sounds odd. Like what is it, $6.46m? Likely to be the highest bonus given the Aiken physical drama. About $450k more than Kolek, who is off to an underwhelming start (albeit 2 games and 4 innings) in rookie ball, showing the control problems I thought I saw in his videos.
  3. Marcus is fine. .206/.315/.373 line and that's greatly affected by a BABIP in the .220s. Big thing we should be looking for and we've got is an improvement in his BB:K ratio more in line with what he did at AA last year.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) There is it. Our solution. Bring back AJP. Tell him it's just for the rest of this season. Flowers is backup. Everybody's happy in Soxland. Except Adrian Nieto
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:40 PM) Also, how long before Taylor Thompson gets the call to MLB? Could do with walking a few less but yeah, he should be next up
  6. If you can criticise Robin for one thing, and he's shown it time and again this year, he manages his bullpen based on ERA.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 08:57 PM) Bulls*** right back at you. Petricka has been awesome this year. He's been decent to good but the ERA is very artificial
  8. Petricka is striking out 6 and a half per 9 innings and walking over 4 and a half, not gonna keep that low an ERA with that K:BB ratio for too long
  9. Not content with ruining Sale's sub-zero 2 ERA, Petricka ruins his own
  10. What a s***-awful run to ruin the 1.99 ERA too, infield hit stretched to a double with nobody covering, groundout to move him over and then a single given up by another pitcher
  11. Sale needs one more out for a sub 2 ERA, and after this game he'll be qualified. If he keeps it scoreless, he'll slot in first in AL ERA and second in the majors behind Wainwright.
  12. De Aza hitting .351/.400/.527 since June 4th
  13. 14 hits. Bloody hell.
  14. Jake Peter 2-3. You can probably go ahead and promote him.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 09:12 PM) Tanaka with 5, 4, 2 and 3 runs given up his last four starts. 2.51 ERA on the season still, but is now "only" 12-4. Last two, 13 2/3 IP with 9 ER. Quintana has a better FIP (Although Tanaka has a considerably better xFIP and SIERA)
  16. Good night for Jose Abreu in the rookie of the year race - 3-4 with 2 doubles whilst Tanaka gives up 5 runs in 6.2
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) KKK Flowers!!! What a hitter Bad enough that he sucks at hitting, but now he's a racist too? DFA his ass
  18. Belisario's peripherals are really good. Time for that ERA to start dropping.
  19. Jacob May has 5 walks in the last 2 nights
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 08:20 PM) Brett Austin had a rough start? I feel like he's had a nice line very time I looked. Well, if 4 games counts as a start, he was 3 for his first 17 with a walk and 9 strikeouts
  21. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 07:23 PM) Here's my question: Nieto has to stay up all of this season. Can the Sox send him to AAA or AA next season to get him playing time, without the risk of losing him back to Washington? Yes
  22. Brett Austin has rebounded nicely after a rough start, 2-3 tonight with a double Trey 3-4 now
