  1. What ever happened to the good old, bunt him over and Sac fly to get him in?
  2. Este has 80 pitches thru 5. Sele has 49 thru 4.
  3. And that is why we all need to be patient. We are in a funk right now, but we will come out of it.
  4. but you are more beautiful than ever.
  5. It's not even the all star break yet...Slow down everyone. We still have 31 games against Detroit and KC left. Not to mention 9 more against the twinkies.
  6. All of this with 2 outs!! Dammit!
  7. well...time for that one bad pitch and the 3 run dinger! :headshake

  9. They should just do this anyways...Murph blows.
  10. gotcha...Sorry about that, but when I read it it wasn't there.
  11. OK...Time out. There seems to be alot of confusion in this thread. Let's clarify. The World Series is a set of about 30 tournaments held over a month. The Tournament that they showed on Tuesday was the $2000 No Limit Texas Hold 'em event. That is the one that Vogel won. The 7 card tournament was another of those 30 tournaments. The one that Moneymaker won last year is the biggie, the $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold 'em, World Championship, tournament. That one isn't scheduled to be on the air for a while yet. Yes, Moneymaker is in that tournament. He didn't get into any of the others. Most of the big names also get into several of the other tournaments, so that is why you see them and didn't see Moneymaker. What I believe witesoxfan was saying in his one post was actually an answer to Confederates post asking what was going on. Simply, the tournament that Vogel won on Tuesday wasn't the main event, it was one of the smaller tournaments. The rest of his questions are answered above. For someone who isn't clear on the format, that could cause some confusion. They are just trying to mix it up a little and show some of the other games that were played...basically, they are milking it for everything it is worth. I can guarantee there were millions of more people who tuned in to see the early action from the main event and were just as confused. Soooo...nothing was given away in this thread. Calm down everyone. And yes this tournament actually took place in the month of May and if you want to know the winners, just go to cardplayer.com or one of the other million poker sites.
  12. Great to know that we didn't lose Olivo for a rent-a-player. Kudos to KW! Now let's hope he doesn't get complacent.
  13. I read the story and that is awesome!!! What this guy is getting is 100% better than the stuff he would have gotten if he would have been a prick about giving Griff the ball. Kudos to Crummley and Kudos to Griff.
  14. I'm glad someone else was thinking the same thing. The plate WAS huge for most of the game and then it just shrunk up once the starters were out of there. I couldn't believe it.

    Crede

Regardless of how he has done in the past...yada yada yada, it was a 2-0 pitch waaaaay high. He shouldn't have been swinging PERIOD!!! Especially if he is going bad. Stand there with the bat on your shoulder and TAKE A FEW PITCHES! Zero in on a zone and only swing if it is in that zone. There was nothing good he could have done with that pitch...nothing.
  16. On a different board that caters to all of chicago sports teams, the cub fans are whining about how "terrible" all of our announcers are. They rip on Hawk & DJ for being homers and not calling the cub runs with the same enthusiasm as they do for the Sox and on Rooney & Farmeo for being boring and not calling the game, but talking about other stuff. They are so F-ing clueless it isn't funny. But then again, they are the ones saying Corky had a "great" game yesterday. Yes, he did get the GW homer, but he was 1-5 with 2 K's. :fthecubs
  17. Alot of the whining I heard was about the announcers and them having to listen to Hawk & DJ. They were calling them the "worst" annoucers in the league...blah, blah, blah. Whining about Hawk calling our good plays with emotion and not gushing over them. "Why can't we have our little chimp?" What do they expect? It isn't a national call, it is the home team call. Of course they are going to be biased. They act like Chimp calls a Cardinal homerun the same as a coob homerun! :fthecubs Another note, the only game we will have Chimp and Stoney is on Friday. Sat & Sun are national crews with Fox & ESPN!!
  18. He dipped into the Blue Kool-aid again!!
  19. I wish we would have traded his ass before we played them. We could have won at least 1 more game down there.
