I think it was Murph on the score that actually made a good point about this after the cubs/Cards series. He basically said that once the ball was thrown behind the hitter and the ump warned both benches, the hitters knew that they wouldn't be pitched inside and could dig in. His point was wait until late in the game to do it, so the cub hitters would be scared of the retaliation all game long. Why do it right away and give the advantage to the hitters. I agree 100% with this. Don't do it right away and risk getting our starter tossed. Wait, wait and wait some more. We still have 8 games left against them. TCB on the scoreboard first, then send the message. Why give them the free bases?

Van Halen - 5150. That whole album just kicks ass. Scorpions...Again Kicks ass. Actually, the mid 80's were my high school years, so there is sooo much of it I like because that is what we were bombarded with. I don't particularly care for alot of that whiny european, soft rock crap that was out though. Gimme 80's metal and I am fine.

I just dropped $105 to see Van Halen. We sat in the 200 level at the U.C. and on the far side of the arena. Glad I brough my binoculars. For kicks I went to see what the floor seats were going for at the Minneapolis show and they were almost $400 a piece. I remember back in the day going to a concert for no more than $30 and a concert shirt was $12. Now they want minimum $35 for a f***ing t-shirt.

That was great!!! Well Heather, they didn't like it... Of course they ask "Who won the crosstown series this year?" and "Win a playoff series before you say anything". The same stuff they ripped us apart for saying in the past they are saying now. Priceless!!

MJ&H were talking about Monday's show yesterday afternoon. Mike came out with a Hawks Jersey on and I believe Mike also put on a Sox hat and the crowd went nuts. Last night, Among all of the other stuff thrown up there, there was a Prior jersy and a couple of cub hats thrown up there and an AWESOME Hawks jersey that had 5150 as the number, Van Halen as the name. A 51 on the one sleeve, a 50 on the other and a VH where the C or A is normally at. It was sweet. Sammy had it on during Best of Both Worlds. The only thing that would have made it better is if it was a Red Jersey for the Red Rocker!! I still love the fact that the crowd didn't go nuts for cub crap!!

I went to see Van Halen last night at the United Center and as Sammy was beginning his solo, he was talking to the crowd and asked if there was "a baseball game tomorrow?" The crowd didn't go for it. To try and get them he said that the cubs manager had invited him to the game and the Booo's just rained out from the crowd. It was beautiful. He had no idea what was going on. He figured that would get the crowd going like it does in most cities. Confused, he said something to the effect of "I don't know, but you f***ers can sure turn on someone in a hurry" and then went into his solo. :fthecubs I guess on Monday night, someone threw Mike a Sox hat and when he put it on the place went nuts.

Bastard!!!!

Well, Berard is taking the team to arbitration, so that is generally the kiss of death. If he is awarded much more than they were offering, the Hawks will just walk away. It sucks, but that is the way they do business. That said, that other spot you were talking about is going to come from that #1 D-man that they said they were going to sign... I almost said it with a straight face!!! It is hard to say what will happen until the CBA gets worked out.

He wasn't even utilized on D alot of the time. Sutter had him at forward. No big loss. He was a great guy, but not a very good hockey player. Best of luck to him.

I think it is funny that a team that has a guy who does a Bunny Hop when he hits a fly ball, does his little chest tap and then flashes gang symbols to the camera is pissed about another player "showboating". Give me a f***ing break. As it has been stated Zambrano is constantly doing s*** on the mound to show up the hitter too. They should worry about winning a game instead of this crap. :sosasucks :fthecubs

Sure they can... You see it when one team drills a guy, the ump warns both benches the opponent comes out and drills the first team and that guy is launched immediately. It has happened before and I guarantee they aren't going to let it get out of hand today. They know the history and rivalry. I understand that it takes away the inside, but it is gone for both teams. Ya' gotta remember this is the new wuss baseball era. Not the old days when a guy would get drilled if he just dug in too much or didn't run around the bases fast enough. Hell, guys would expect to be drilled the at bat after they hit a home run. Now a guy gets pitched inside and he looks back at the pitcher ready to charge.

Come on...you know that will not happen. Once they do that, they become an ordinary team with a new stadium. We all know that the ballpark draws as many fans as the team does. As long as the dump isn't condemned, they will stay there. They market that place as much as they market the team...maybe more.

I have to agree with a friend of mine here at work. The Umps are going to warn both benches before the game and launch the pitcher immediately if he hits somene. I don't think there will be any brawls. The game is too important to the coob and St. Louis is on a huge roll and know that they will bury the coob with a win today. I'm pretty sure that the league has already threatened the teams with suspensions if it gets out of hand today. Neither team can afford to lose players at this stage. Hopefully, the cards get up by about 10 runs. That will make it more interesting. :fthecubs

The talk of bad driving in the venting thread made me ask this question, so have at it. Also feel free to post your reasons why or why you don't use them.

All Beatle songs SUCK!! I just don't get the big deal about them.

I just don't get this mentality at all. Why the f*** don't you just put it in the damn ashtray? Litter your own car, not outside! Give me a break. If you don't have an ashtray then get one.

The boneloads at the KC Star are asking me to sign up to read this damn thing. Can someone post the article here? -
The twinkies official line is that "it has nothing to do with someone running fans for an advantage, it has to do with the pressure in the dome." As people come and go, they need to keep the damn baggie inflated. What I heard is that they have those rotating doors there and as the fans leave, that releases pressure which needs to be built back up. A friend of mine who was there for football did say that you can really feel the pressure pushing you as you leave...I don't know. But that is how they get away with it...Bastards!!!
