JT reminds me more of a Rod Brindamour / Joe Sakic type of player. Havlat has more offensive skill but less defensive skill obviously. Toews is already one of the best 2 way players in the game.

Afghanistan and Obama's New Plan
No real surprise I think, considering the state of affairs in that country over the past couple of years.

Hmmmm; FWIW, the Suns may want Gordon's expiring deal instead of Noah included in a package also.

The Bulls could go small ball and play Amare at C if they acquired him. Could build around him, like the Magic have done with Dwight and surround him with shooters.

BTW, I was hugely impressed with Lamar Odom's game yesterday (and loved his screams everytime he made a dunk down low). I think people forget how good of a player he actually is considering he's basically the 4th or 5th option on that team when Bynum is healthy.

Right I'm looking to buy a new external hard drive, and it's got to have the following 2 things; 1 - I want it to have at least 1TB in space. 2 - I don't want to get one that has a power supply with it, as I'd like to use it on the road and not have to plug it into anything. Anyone know of any good ones on the market that will fit the bill?- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
Basically, if the Bulls want either Amare or Bosh, they're gonna have to give up TT, Noah, Gooden and a 1st. John Paxson has got to decide whether or not he's willing to do that.- Reinsdorf had been considering Coyotes purchase
The Coyotes have really issues with their lease, and unless they can get that fixed they'll probably go under in a few years. Wouldn't think this would change much on the Sox's end in regards to payroll though.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) You can put an Aaron Gray on the floor when you have a guy like Stoudemire to clean up after him. Well I dunno about that, Amare hasn't exactly played great with a big like Shaq next to him. If they could somehow keep Thomas and give up say 2 future 1st's, Noah and Gooden for Amare, they should definitely do that. But I agree that the Bulls should do what they can to get Amare. He can be the star this team hasn't had since Michael Jordan.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 02:21 PM) Beasley, Dorell Wright, and Mark Blount for Amare. Do it. When does Mark Blount's deal end? I think Noah + Gooden + Thomas for Amare is a better offer right now FWIW.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
The problem with Amare is, if you don't run enough plays for him offensively on the pick and roll, he's going to quit on rebounding and defense which is basically what he's done this season. And he's not a real low post threat, albeit he'd be a huge upgrade on what the Bulls have had. I still think it's worth it for the Bulls to pull the trigger. If Amare bolts in 2010 to say the Knicks, just go after Chris Bosh instead.- Ben Sheets probably needs surgery
I still imagine he'll get signed by someone after the ASB, and be a valuable FA next off-season if he can show he's 100% healthy. Still, a lot of guys who have had surgeries such as Mark Mulder have never been the same.- Josh Kroeger
What was his line in the minors last season?- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) Jeffrey Wright for KW. Or maybe Chiwetel Elijiafor (butchered spelling I'm sure). Jeffrey Wright would be a good choice indeed.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 08:58 AM) I would back the truck up for Amare. Pretty much anyone except Rose would be fair game. Draft picks, players, etc. I don't care. Him and Rose playing together would put the Bulls into the top half of the Eastern Confrence. I wonder if Thomas + Noah + Hughes + 1st round pick for Amare would interest Steve Kerr enough?- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) He's missed what, 75% of the last 2 seasons and he has 4 more years on his contract? I'm not sure I'd even want to move him for Hughes. If they wanted Hinrich/Nocioni, both of whom have longer lasting contracts, then you might talk me in to something. He gives the Bulls exactly what they need though, a low post presence. With the cap issues the Bulls have, I don't think they're going to be able to get a major FA in 2010, because they just won't have the capspace. Brand is a risk no doubt, but the Bulls could be a top 4 team in the East with Rose, Deng and Brand possibly.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (philadelphia sox fan @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) Elton Brand is gone for the year http://csnphilly.com/pages/landing_sixers/...&feedID=694 Hmmm, will be interesting to see if they try to deal him in the off-season. Depending on the cost (would the Sixers do Larry Hughes (expiring contract) plus something for Brand maybe) the Bulls should at least make an inquiry. Also the Magic traded Keith Bogans for Tyronn Lue, so there's our PG backup. Also, apparently Steve Kerr has put Amare Stoudemire on the trade market. Toronto and New Jersey are both interested apparently, and Kerr wants to trade him to an Eastern Conference team.- LOST!!!!
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 02:47 PM) what about the folks from the freighter that got the same thing? I think the people who have been there the least are getting the nosebleeds. Juliet and Daniel are the two with the most island time and both do not have the issue. Juliet started having a nose-bleed towards the end of the episode though didn't she?- LOST!!!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 01:38 PM) Don't they have to ID a constant and stick to it? If they don't know, how could it work? Well either that or it's those people who have been on the island for longer are more susceptible (Daniel is fine because he found his constant). Maybe Sawyer found his constant in Kate (who re-appeared on the island for that little bit) and he just doesn't realize it.- Silly Mariners-Quentin Rumor thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) I know you made it up, but who is Jackson? He's bout a month too late on that one.- Afghanistan and Obama's New Plan
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 09:45 AM) I think he meant logistically. Afghanistan's borders include Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Tadzhikistan, China (but that border is very small and in very rugged terrain, in the Hindu Kush), and possibly India via the Kashmir (but I am not sure the parts of Kashmir along that border are India's). None of those are particularly attractive countries for cooperation, except India, and I am not sure they actually control those borders. That shows why Pakistan is such a crucial country in that region. It's so easy for the Taliban etc. to smuggle weapons / supplies / attackers through there as much as they want. - The environment thread
