Javy's thrown 66% of his pitches for strikes so far. He needs to keep that type of percentage up if he wants to do well. 4K's so far thru 2 innings indicates he's got decent stuff going so far.

Which guys are out there via FA that the Sox could go after to fill their CF hole, or do they give Swisher another opportunity there. Why not offer Swisher and Fields to Seattle for Beltre for example, to try and fill your hole at 3B? The Sox take on another $6M or so in that deal, leaving another 10-15M potentially to spend, if not more, considering payroll has increased each season for the last 5-6. So unless the Sox traded for a big name CF, they'd have to sign a 2B or SS IMHO. Rafael Furcal is basically the only guy I could really justify the Sox going after as a SS, considering his OBP / defensive skills, but the Dodgers want to re-sign him and he's very injury prone. Hence why I think going after Hudson on a 2 year 25M deal or so and moving Alexei Ramirez to SS is a better option. They'd still need a CF, but they could offer prospects to Pittsburgh for someone like Nate McLouth for instance. Either way, the Sox need to strengthen up the middle and at 3B, as they're pretty much set elsewhere. KW's got a real opportunity to consolidate the gains the Sox have made (hence why I'd like to see him go after some more young pitching if possible as well, because with Floyd and Danks he's got a good recent track record on that front).

Crede playing on that turf, wouldn't be a good fit for him at all IMHO. Still it'd be pretty sad to see him end up in a Twins uniform. OC is the more interesting one, I think he'll be after another 4 year deal in the off-season. If Furcal leaves the Dodgers, wouldn't surprise me to see OC end up there maybe. Either way, I'd take those 2 out, bring in Beltre and Hudson, and I'll be one very happy man.

This is something I'd like to see for the playoffs. Griffey moves up to the #2 spot to replace Wise in the lineup, and Swisher hits below A.J in the #8 hole. Griffey has a .260/.347/.405 line since joining the White Sox, so he's got a pretty decent OBP, and only a 25/17 K/BB ratio. I think he would do a solid job there, and offer a bit more balance to the lineup. Do people think this would be the best option if Wise was moved out of the lineup? I'd much prefer Griffey hitting 2nd than say Brian Anderson.

I voted Swisher, but the Sox would then need a #2 hitter to move up in the lineup. And I don't mind Swisher in that role, but he does K a lot. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Griffey hit 2nd in the lineup FWIW.

I'd like to see another quality lefty brought into the pen, as I have questions over Logan over the long - term. Don't know if Ron Mahay is a FA or not, but someone like that who can do a job for you in the 6th or 7th inning with an ERA around 3 would be ideal. And if KW is working the trade market, I think he should try to go after these 2 type of players; 1 - A young CF who can step in from next season. Not sure who that is, but I would actually offer say a Vazquez around, and see if you can get that type of player. 2 - A young pitcher in the Danks or Floyd mould. Poreda may be ready possibly at some point next season, but if the Sox see a young pitcher they like, and they've obviously had major success recently with Gavin and John, go after that guy again.
