I already have gray hairs.

QUOTE (quickman @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) I truly believe Crede will play for the dodgers next year not the angels. call it a hunch, but lets see what happens. You could well be right, considering they traded LaRoche. Casey Blake could be on the SouthSide next season as well also.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) The problem is...teams typically don't trade their one franchise level QB unless something else happens. Either they have a backup who appears ready to step in, they spend a draft pick on a QB who plays well, or the QB gets hurt and their backup shows ability. Even bad teams tend to stick with their QB's until something else becomes available. I just don't see how the Bengals would do anything like moving their QB unless he gets hurt. He'd be the last guy they'd trade from their roster I'd say. Marvin Lewis will be right behind Scott Linehan on the unemployment line soon enough though.

If Uribe could hit like this for the next couple of seasons, I'd love him at 3rd. I just don't think he can sustain it for a long period of time though. Beltre or Atkins would be a decent option IMHO, if the price was right. Figgins also, especially if the Angels went after Crede.

Now Burke I would love to have. He's definitely one of the top 5 GM's in the game today.

Going for back to back wins here, and I'll be in attendance again tonight (so no more saying I bring bad luck shipps). Probably will be a high scoring affair tonight I would imagine, but if we can nab a win here, that'll be huge.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:57 PM) Isn't this Pettite's last start in old yankee stadium? Could be an emotional lift. I think he may be starting on Sunday on what'll be the last game at the stadium.

Yeah the NFC East has argubly been the best division in Football for the past 3-4 seasons (some arguments for the AFC South perhaps). Any one of those teams could probably win the NFC West.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) He couldn't, Ramirez had to face a batter. Who did Betemit pinch hit for again?
-
Once Betemit came in to pinch hit, Ozzie really needed to go to another RHP in the pen (if he had one up, I can't remember) instead of leaving Ramirez in there. That was the killer.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) He was lucky enough to see the Sox get destroyed by the Royals. Oh yeah, I came all the way to Chicago just to see that! Hopefully will have some more luck tonight.

Giants still worry me majorly with their D-Line, even without Strahan and Umenyora. They're just the type of team you can't blowout, and as we saw in the playoffs last season, they're dangerous.
-
QUOTE (rangercal @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 11:00 AM) The flashy offense is great. But a great D is like great pitching and I can't say Dallas has that right now. They will be New England 2.0 We were 9th last season in the league for D IIRC, and have added Zach Thomas, Adam Jones and Mike Jenkins. The defense should certainly be better for us than what it was last season.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 11:24 AM) Beltre, plz...crap, nevermind. Depending on what the new Seattle GM will ask for him (maybe Pat Gillick at this stage), I'd say that could very well be an option. I would certainly use Fields in a deal to get Beltre if that's what it took, but we'd have to give up more I'd say.

McNabb was close to the McNabb of old last night. Argubly the hardest QB to sack ATM in the NFL. I've got no doubt Philly will win at least 10 games if he can stay completely healthy.
-
Well I'll start up my 1st game thread of the season. Will be attending tonight's game, so let's hope we can bounce back for a win. Hopefully with Gavin on the mound, we'll give him the run support that we have all season long.
-
QUOTE (rangercal @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) yeah, cowboys D looked like bears O. The Giants have to be the favorites for the division IMO. I still like our chances, Philly just always give us problems for some reason. I'll take our offense over the Giants any day of the week, and a lot of teams are going to start double teaming Justin Tuck as a pass rusher now with his emergence.

Big, big win there. Westbrook's fumble definitely the turning point. Defense has quite a bit to work on though, especially stopping the run.
