Yeah a lot of questions will be asked if they don't make the playoffs, especially with the way Sabathia has pitches since he was acquired. Going to be very interesting to see what happens there over the next couple of weeks.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) The Cubs have the 2nd best record in baseball and the Mets are in first place..... Mets are beginning to wobble now though without Wagner. I think Philly will catch em once again.
  3. Jenks is basically a year by year proposition for me at this point. We still control him for what another 3 seasons, arbitration wise. I would maybe look at dealing him a year from FA, because there are still doubts over him for the long - term, but with all of the problems we've had with our bullpen over the past few seasons, he's been the 1 consistent.
  4. Yeah that's a good hire (although I have no idea about his scouting abilities). I think in regards to Tony's post though, Savvy is probably on a little more safer ground than Tallon, but that could change in an instant.
  5. At least she actually gave a plausible reason unlike Brooke Hogan.
  6. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 11:57 AM) ask the Mets, Philles, Brewers and Cardinals as well. Yeah the media over here are begging the Mets to go after K-Rod even although they still have to pay Wagner next season. Luis Ayala really isn't helping matters much on that front.
  7. Anderson's a middle of the road starting QB in the NFL I'd say. At least he gets rid of the ball quickly and doesn't get sacked a lot e.g Grossman. He signed a 3 year deal in the off-season though didn't he?
  8. He's been excellent for the past month and a half, and he had to be. Let's hope he can keep it going til the end and in the playoffs if we make it.
  9. I wonder if the Bears would target someone like Sage Rosenfals from the Texans in the off-season possibly (although Angelo really loves his draft picks doesn't he).
  10. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 10:51 AM) You're in NYC now? Have been for 4 months, and am for another 8.
  11. McCain / Palin have to be the favorites right now. However, I think the "shine" will wear off for Palin eventually, and if Obama can do well in the debates (which is going to be crucial for him), I think he'll just win. If he can't, McCain / Palin will win.
  12. It is for me especially considering it's also my b-day, so even though I'm not American, it probably affects me more than most. I was able to go down to Ground Zero for about 5-10 mins yesterday at 6:30PM, and basically just reflect, and that was something I really wanted to do when I came here, so I was glad to do it.

    Sarah Palin

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) FYI, a full term is 4 years. Well I meant if he's re-elected. But yeah.....
  14. Thanks for the well - wishes guys. Been stuck at work all day unfortunately, and then have a stupid finance tutorial tonight. Am hoping to go to Central Park (Tavern on the Green) for some Cocktail Party, and the 9/11 memorial at Pier 40 / Hudson River tonight still though. And Happy B-Day Felix, certainly an excellent age to be turning. I hope you are well smashed by now. I know I would be (and will be come the weekend).

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) Oh there is no question about this. I've said for a while that if you don't like McCain that is more than fair, but to say he is like Bush is not fair. However, both sides are doing a lot of things that aren't fair in this election so that is no surprise. I have given up trying to argue that McCain is not Bush though, because that's fallen on deaf ears. I would argue he is closer than not though, just because the way he has voted on policies since Bush has been President. I dunno, I just find it crazy that America would vote for a President that's; 1 - Same party as Bush 2 - Decent chance he won't finish a full 8 year term because of age 3 - Hence, Palin would be President and she has what 2 years experience as a Governor in Alaska!? 4 - Vote for someone because of the "commander in chief" thinking, rather than the state of the economy, which I think is a more pressing issue.
  16. w00t. Big win there, now let's take advantage tonight boys.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) The rest of the world isn't as aware of the problems in America as America itself is. Realistically, Washington is broken and neither Barack Obama or John McCain will fix it, regardless of what both sides are saying. The question is not who will make America better, it's who will screw it up less. I'm talking about America's foreign policy, and how that's viewed worldwide etc. Also, the prevailing feeling I know from Australia, is how could you re-elect a Republican after 8 years of Bush and what he has done to the country? The comment that Obama made of McCain voting 90% of the time with Bush, really hit hard for me on the above.

    Sarah Palin

QUOTE (mreye @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) Really? Well, that does it. I'm voting for Obama now. It's what the rest of the world wants me to do. Well I guess if America wants to become more "isolated" from the world in these testy times, unfortunately I think another 8 years of Republicans in Office is probably going to achieve that outcome. JMHO though.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 10:29 AM) Ah Yes, The bastard child of Yahoo Serious and Johnny Depp. He's only saying what the rest of the world is thinking though (well except for Turkey). Everyone will lose more faith in America and its people if you elect John McCain (and then end up having a female president with only 2 years experience from Alaska).

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) The posts on here are f***in hilarious. I like the screwed up system that gives the same value to my uneducated vote as your all worthy and wise one. There are no educated people that like Senator Palin. McCain and Palin will win this election because me and all my stoopid friends. It's so disgusting isn't it?? Russell Brand certainly thinks so.
