qwerty you really need to make more quality posts like that.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Sorry, Soxfan1. Your girlfriend got eliminated tonight. Mine isn't even playing. I found her 1st. Devastating.

I'll start getting excited about Hudson when he does well in high A ball. SaberScouting had him pegged as a future set-up man, due to his lack of a quality 3rd pitch IIRC (only the fastball / slider combo).

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 12:41 PM) Christian's TNA contract is about to expire and may be coming back to WWE. Please happen! Hopefully if he does, they don't stick him in mid card mediocrity again (I mean if Brian Kendrick can challenge for the WWE title, then anything is possible I guess). One interesting storyline possibly, is he could be the one who brings Edge back from hell, and those 2 cause havoc and form some sort of stable.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) After working a year and a half at RadioShack, I can see that. I was just like, why can't I buy the phone and activate it myself? I printed out instructions from A,T&T and everything on what to do (suspending account, getting new phone, calling up A,T&T and letting em kno ur sim card and MMEID).

I bet they're all hideously ugly though (well maybe not for Iowa standards).
-
Well hopefully Joe's definitely healthy, but there'll always be the question about his back whether he likes it or not. And it'll cost him come FA time.

So last night, I went with another guy to go see the center court action at Arthur Ashe Stadium, James Blake vs. Donald Young. And we were treated to an absolute classic of a match. And by the time the 5th set started, everyone was moving down to the bottom tier, and we ended up getting seats right in the corner about 3 rows behind Young's family. Don't know if I've seen a better match live in person actually.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) Not to sound like a smart ass, but if you knew it was your bike why didn't you just take it back? Yeah, you should be able to keep your old number...you just have to let them know of the situation. Yeah all good, I got to keep my number. Although the salesman at RadioShack was insistent in activating the phone himself, and I was having none of it (as that would have activated a different phone number).
-
Question - I'm with A,T&T and had one of those pay as you go phones, and ended up losing it. If I get a new one, will I be able to keep my old number?
-
Happy B-Day Justin. Hope it was a good one!
-
I lost my phone over the weekend, and have a major, major gash on the top of my head, and grazes all over my body. Drinking 5 nights in a row (and all day Saturday) will do that to you though I guess.

It's all bout the glasses Jeff. Seriously if I had those over here, those American Girls would not stand a chance.

^^^^. Thank god the NYU Kiddies will be back out to school (the Aussie Accent will come in handy when picking up I think(.

Too much beer last night = pounding headache at work currently. Thank god it's Friday (so I can get back on it in 6 hours).

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) I think Swisher spent the first half of the season trying to exceed expectations and justify the trade, and now he is finally comfortable and not trying to overdo it I think as well and I know you hear this a lot, but when the weather heated up, and the Sox had a fair few games at home, that's when Swisher really began to get it together and began to crush the ball at home. He needs to pick it up on the road though. And I found it interesting that his average against lefties was about 40 points lower, yet his OBP was about 30-40 points higher. He had something around a 29/22 BB/K ratio against lefties.

Swisher's had what you would call a very streaky season. Look at his monthly splits; April - .213/.372/.337 May - .176/.272/.275 June - .315/.402/.630 July - .193/.327/.349 August - .300/.417/.660 Right now his total numbers for the season is .237/.356/.433 an OPS of .789. Against righties he has a .249/.346/.456 line and against lefties a .202/.382/.365 line. He also seems to love hitting at home; HOME - .275/.390/.569 AWAY - .197/.319/.288 What's stunning to me is that he has 17HR's at home in 211 AB's, and only 3HR's on the road in 198 AB's. He also hates hitting indoors; .167/.295/.273 So what do you make of Swisher's first season as a whole right now? If he gets an OPS over .800 for example and hits 25HR's with an AVG above .245, is that a sucessful season, and does it justify what the Sox gave up for him?

If Boldin became available in anyway, Jerry Jones would be all over it in a flash. And Kyle, I don't know if you'd call signing Archuleta and Darwin Walker "big moves". Archuleta had regressed big time since his early days with the Rams, and was found out to be a run support safety who's decent in the box, but covers worse than Roy Williams and isn't a very good tackler, while Walker I would call a "system DT". I don't see a lot of hope for the Bears right now for the upcoming season to be honest also.

Northwest has probably been the best airline I've flown with thus far in my travels round America (even if I did have 2 mins to make a connection in Detroit to Memphis running past 40 gates).
-
And with what has happened to Joe, and the way Fields' has regressed, I'd say it's more likely than not that our 2009 3rd baseman isn't in the organization ATM.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 10:37 AM) I imagine you went through O'Hare, so I'd be willing to bet the airport is who you actually have a problem with, not the airline. Yeah I did. I flew out on a Friday Night and got in 90 mins after I was supposed to (due to a plane off the runway at O'Hare apparently), and then my return flight was delayed for 2 hours. The reason? Operations (whatever that means).
-
I'm still never flying United again after flying with them to Chicago and back and not returning home until 4AM in the morning over here. But I hope the above situation (with a monopoly) doesn't happen, because that'll be terrible for prices. Unfortunately, it could very well occur.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 06:30 PM) What do you disagree with? Oh just that you don't like him. Don't know if I should have said disagree or not (basically because he's been my favorite wrestler over the past decade since the E & C days), and the way he has evolved over time.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPP!!!!!! Let's keep the recent good form going. Pretty much everything was good this series. Offense got going, the starting pitching for the most part was very good, and we got the 3 wins.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Dotel's throwing a ton this season, and I just think he could bring you back a lot of value in the offseason (particularly if a team wants to make him a closer). Unless you could sign a replacement who would do just as good of a job, I still wouldn't consider it. EDIT: And it probably wouldn't look good to potential FA's if you traded a guy, 1 year after signing him (and after he's had a good season).
