Top of the rotation starters
Obviously a key for Floyd is to keep the HR's he gives down to a manageable level. We all remember his 1st game for us, how many dingers he gave up in that outing at the Cell. It's probably the biggest question mark I have over him right now. But then again, Javier Vaaquez is a flyball pitcher and he was able to cut down the HR's he gave up in 2007, so it can be done.

I succumbed and got Guitar Hero 3. Seeing Prayer of the Refugee as one of the bonus tracks pushed me over the edge. Has anyone been playing Rock Band?

ORLANDO HUDSON should be the next target
Give Richar at least a season to show what he's capable of. If he doesn't produce, Hudson would be an excellent replacement. You know the pitching staff would be very happy.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 02:29 AM) That would indeed be great, but I'm sure that would make Edge a face (since people rightfully hate Vickie Guerrero) and keeping him with her continues to confound and upset people and keeps Edge a heel. I think after everything that Edge has pulled though, he's never going to be a face in this business again though.

Garrard is a QB that doesn't make many mistakes as well. So at least I think it would be an interesting matchup, and the Pats would probably have to get the running game going a bit. I'd still definitely pick NE though.

I don't know if Centro (the property group) trades in the U.S, but down here they have dropped from around $7 yesterday and currently they are trading at 42c. They are having massive issues re-financing debt due to the credit crisis, and a lot of people think they could cease to be a going concern.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 03:40 AM) Okay, I misunderstood you. With Dallas' secondary, I think you're still better off clamping down on Moss, not Welker, unless the weather's as bad as yesterday. Even then...I wouldn't say the Cowboys can't beat them, but they just don't match up well. I think we tried that last time, but Welker burned us for 11 receptions and around 2 TD's, as he was matched us against Nate Jones. I don't know if we had Newman playing either that game, although I've long said we need at least 1 maybe 2 good young CB's to add to the roster.

Haren to D-Backs
Well this is better then what they got for Mulder and Hudson obviously. So I mean in essence, 1 of the above deals worked out beautifully, the other one was just terrible for the A's. Obviously we'll have to wait a few years to judge the trades to see how those prospects worked out.

still plan in place accorind cowley
I'd be willing to sign Cameron on a short - term inflated deal. That's of course if the Sox don't go into the trade route. Cameron's high propensity to K and low BA don't figure to help him that much though in KW's eyes.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 02:16 PM) I think we'll miss Garland's durability a lot. I'm stunned when people suggest the drop off from Garland to Floyd isn't severe. It isn't if Floyd can prove his last 6 starts in 07 wasn't a fluke. And then of course there's the issue of Garland's shoulder and his "knot". We all saw what happened with Freddy Garcia, and he was meant to be "durable" as well.

The Pats secondary can still be exploited, and Philly bombed the middle of the field with their passing attack, so they still have some weaknesses. I like being the underdog though. Although it would be absolutely hilarious if the Colts managed to knock off the Pats in the AFC conference finals.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 12:14 PM) Pratt is a Pats fan. I'm a Bears fan, and even I'll say that if you're setting the bar that low for your Cowboys, you must be ready for just about any AFC playoff team to wipe the floor with your 'boys. I know that. I'm not setting the bar low at all, I'm just saying if he's calling us the worst 12-2 team in football, well IMHO there have been worse than us with that type of record. And I brought up the Bears because I remember them having Miller at QB, Anthony Thomas at RB and they got owned by Donovan McNabb scrambling in the playoffs. I think if we play at our best we can beat anybody. I've already said the key for the Cowboys if they play the Pats is to control Wes Welker as their 3rd WR, because he dominated us last time.

Yeah not really a huge shock that we dropped one. We've been walking a tightrope recently. Hopefully it's a bit of a wakeup call, especially to the offense that they can't just show up and expect things to happen. And I'll reserve judgment on Pratt's comments, but I remember a certain Bears team that won 13 games with Jim Miller as the QB.

Surely Billick will be canned now after this? Baltimore could be the worst team in the NFL right now, which is quite hilarious considering they won what 13 games last season. And Romo's doing his best to re-incarnate the Buffalo version of himself. Other teams seem to be doubling up on TO and pretty much force him to throw to Witten.

Had our work's XMas Party last night. We had it at some big gallery near Melbourne, and when you walked in, there was a red carpet with about 20 waiters / waitresses each side of it holding out beer / champagne / wine etc., so that was a nice feeling. Pretty much drank Stella's for most of the night, but the highlight of the evening was when I could purchase a Leffe blonde at the place next door that we went to afterwards. Although the cost was rather steep ($9.50 ugh), Leffe would be one of my top 2 or 3 beers right now.

Don't be majorly disheartened Willie. When I was applying for colleges / universities, I didn't get my 1st preference on the 1st list of entries. I would have had to go to Uni 1 hour east of Melbourne. Luckily, I applied for my 1st preference again, and when the 2nd list of acceptances came out 1 month before semester started that year, I was accepted. So hopefully, with the appeals process or whatever you have to go through, you get what you wanted.
