There's a way to bring up old answers on your calculators, say one you did 3 entries before, but I've forgotten how to do it, I thought it was 2nd something, does anybody know?

Hmmm that's a lot of money for Romo. Still apart from 1 game, he's probably shown he's close to a franchise type QB this season.
-
So the Rangers would be very happy right now with this news wouldn't they.

Hmmmm; Now I'm just throwin this out there. I love seeing Marty play as much as anyone, but to be paying $6M a season to someone as injury prone as Havlat has become quite a risk for the Hawks, so would the offer above tempt you to trade Havlat?

The White Sox address some Soxtalk 2007 discussion topics

I still think Vizquel can give you a .330-.350 OBP and excellent defense from down lower in the order for about $2M. And do the Sox want to run the risk of not picking up Uribe's option, and then seeing a team like the Cards sign him? Personally I don't think they would, which much to my chagrin, means Uribe is probably coming back for $5M, a vast overpayment based on his declining offensive numbers. -
Masset would really have to impress in ST to win a rotation spot over Floyd IMHO, if either Garland or Contreras were traded. Yes Floyd has issues, and yes his MLB ERA is terrible. But he showed enough in some of his starts in the 2nd half of the season, and especially in the last 2 months, that he's worth persisting with. It's just a long , winding road to get him to produce that consistently unfortunately, namely because of the confidence issues he has and him not wanting to really attack opposing hitters.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) That is not a class I look forward to taking I'll see u that and raise you with Financial Accounting Theory and Practice, learning about such fun things as "What is a theory?" and "What are the benefits of a good conceptual framework?" At least my Stats exam was open book as well.

Ha, and I remember when some Bulls fans were annoyed that they traded him. Sure he's got talent, but he doesn't have a brain either.

Portland makes the most sense for mine. It would allow for the Athletics to stay in the AL West, and they would develop a pretty good rivalry with Seattle. Someone suggested Salt Lake City, that's not a bad idea, but it'd also be playing in Coors Field all over again, so they'd need to have a humidor to keep the runs down. I think they'd get pretty good support in Portland, they were pretty devoted to the Blazers in the 90's, until they became the "Jail Blazers".

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) Well, to be fair, Losman didn't get off to a great start this season even before he got hurt, and while his numbers have been improving, they haven't improved at the rate you'd like to see from a QB. Losman is already 26, 3 years out of being drafted. I mean, he's only 1 year behind Grossman's curve right now, and after 2 seasons of him being set as the QB, you need to see more from him. The thing is though, Losman was up against 2 of the top defences in the NFL (pretty sure I read that somewhere), and then he got hurt and that's when Edwards came in. So I think if he got the chance to start again this season, he'd put up numbers closer to what he did last season instead of what he's done so far. I think Lee Evans would like him starting, because Losman throws a pretty good deep ball as well.

For anyone who's got FIFA 2008, apparently Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is better. FIFA's been getting in the high 8's, Pro Evolution's been getting around 9.5 out of 10 for its reviews. Not sure if it's called that or Winning Eleven Soccer International or something like that. The only thing about it that annoys me, they only have official licenses for the EPL with Tottenham and Newcastle I think. But they still have all of the right players.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 10:05 AM) We have Losman on the Bears already Except that Grossman won't be back with the Bears in 08-09, and Losman had a QB rating in the mid 80's last season, which was about 12 higher than Rex's last season. Some team will snap Losman up and give him a chance to start. If the Falcons don't draft Brian Brohm for example, they'll probably have a look at J.P. I mean I think he's got the talent to be a NFL QB, and he's pretty unlucky that he got injured and a rookie came in and hasn't put a foot wrong so far.

I thought Haslem would be starting at PF palehosefan, with Blount and Mourning off the bench? Blount can score quite good for a C, he just can't rebound whatsoever.
-
If Davis could only learn some defense and not be a "Me - First" player. But maybe Riley will get through to him. As an Orlando fan, I'm not really happy with the deal, because the Heat are better today than what they were yesterday.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:29 AM) Hard to disagree with that. I kinda liked Losman, but in the same way I kinda liked Grossman; he just should have been better than he was. Hopefully Edwards turns out a bit better. Can we start the Losman to the Bears talk now or do we have to wait until the end of the season? I started that last week already.

I remember on Dice - K, I think there was a stat after a certain amount of days rested after he pitched, his ERA was below 3, might have been 6. But I agree with kyyle23, now at least hitters will know his stuff. He'll need to improve that control of his obviously.

Thought I'd start this up to get people thoughts on this. B-Mac to Texas for Nick Masset and John Danks. Right now, if you're KW, would you still make this deal, based on talent? FWIW here are the numbers of all 3 for 2007; B-Mac - 5-10, 4.87 ERA, 59K's and 48BB's. Danks - 6-13, 5.50 ERA, 109K's and 54BB's. Masset - 2-3, 7.09 ERA, 21K's and 26BB's.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) It took about a week, but all of the spots were eventually filled. Sorry, bro. No DBAHO this year. No Soxfan1, though. Willie Purple Haze (Zoom) Cap'n Kirk (Soxfanforever) Excellant Hamburgers (Big Ed) Sleepy Khalid El-Amin (Steve) ChWRoCk William Tell Strained Quad (Soxfest) Who are these dudes: AllEN HOUSTON TheseBallsBounce Ya sorry Hammer, I was stuck in 4 leagues already. Still haven't had my draft for the 4th though (which may not go ahead), so if anyone drops out in the future before your draft, I'll prob take it. EDIT: And then I see you guys had your draft already. OOPS.

Also everyone's been talkin about Kane and Toews for good reason, but I think a guy who's slipped under the radar is Tuomo Ruutu. He seems to be playing very well on a line with those 2, it's EASILY the best for the Hawks.
-
Doesn't matter if MB3 isn't the starter, he'll get more carries than Julius Jones. MB3's good for 80 yards and 1TD per game, but he comes into his own in the 4th quarter of games. MB3's probably my favorite player in the NFL right now. The Bears would be wise to look at him in the off-season when he hits FA (although I actually think they might have a look at Julius instead).

Who knew that upgrading from Bridget to Gisele could make such a difference in Tom's play.
-
Well it looks like the final frontier has been crossed. Don't think I've ever been as excited as a Hawks fan than I am now.

Hmmmm; I don't mind the idea of trading Garland to the D-Backs. Another guy besides Gonzalez who the Sox could look at and try to get on the cheap is Carlos Quentin. With Young, Byrnes and Upton the OF cornerstones, it's going to be hard for him to get back in that lineup. And yes he was TERRIBLE this season, but he was injured and never really recovered. He put up a .872 OPS in 166 AB's at the end of last season, and I think he's a guy who will give you .280 25HR's a season if he reaches his potential. I like the idea of trying to say trade for him and swapping some of our minor league OF's such as Sweeney for example, although I don't know if Josh Byrnes would go for that.

Yeah I took Deron Williams in 6th - 7th rounds in fantasy drafts last year (much to Willie's chagrin), and I've been doing the same with Felton this year. They've got a new PG coach for him, Sam Vincent is going to have a more up-tempo style, and if Felton can improve his %'s, he'll be a top 30 fantasy player IMHO. Anyways, I'm quietly optimistic for my Magic this season, albeit we do have injury concerns. Battie's out for the season, and Lewis and Ariza are banged up. Still I like our offensive system of basically having Dwight in the middle and 4 shooters in Nelson, Redick, Lewis and Turkoglu around him. With an increased pace, we should average over 100 points per game this season I'm thinking. And SVG's a very underrated coach, and we've looked pretty good this pre-season. Top 4 in the East isn't beyond us this season.
