  1. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) ive never laughed harder than when those idiots were sounding the blow horn on the golf course in the first movie. "HE'S TEEING UP!!!!" http://youtube.com/watch?v=EfM8RdZHqVY&sea...20%2B%20Jackass
  2. Augustine to Orlando, tell me a bit about him Illinois fans.
  3. Someone ask shoota if we need to upgrade at SS right now.
  4. Ok the draft's about to kick off. Boston is gettin Ratliff and Telfair for Dickau, LaFrentz and the #7. And TRU, the Cats are probably gonna take Morrison at #3. We may have a shot at Gay after all.
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) Perez would be an interesting name... What has caused his downfall this year? He's been having control problems, and hasn't been throwing a lot of his pitches for strikes IIRC. Sounds like the Coop reclamation project down to a tee.
  6. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) i see tonight being very up for grabs in terms of trading and teams posturing so guys may fall further than expected and just an overall insanity; i just hope we dont have to see Steven A. Smith and/or Dickie V. for an extended period of time I heard Dickie V is already on the dissing Bargnani bandwagon. Oh Dickie how is your prediction that Orlando would pay for not picking Okafor 2 years ago looking right now..... idiot. But you're right that this draft will be so interesting tonight, not because it's a great draft, but because it's so wide open that so many teams could be moving up and down and we'll probably see a lot more trades than usual.
  7. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) wow the brewers are in the NBA now?! in regards to the daniels deal it would work out for the bulls but if you can draft someone with potential like Sene why trade the pick when there may be a chance to snag someone in free agency Brewers, Bucks they both start with B I guess. I suppose it would depend on whether Chicago would be sure they could bring in a taller swingman in FA. If they get Harrington and Pryzibilla, they may need to draft one.
  8. Question - Who else thinks from here on out to the end of the season, Minnesota will have a better record than Detroit?
  9. Pittsburgh has an overload of pitching, and also in the minors. I doubt they would want more fringe major league arms like Phillips. If anything, they would want good young hitters, or for us to also take on a contract like Randa or Burnitz.
  10. Looks like the Celts offer for Iverson includes Wally and the #7 pick. Billy King could probably get a Josh Smith or Al Harrington and a #5 pick instead, although I don't know if that would work out cap - wise. Otherwise if they can't get Iverson, amazingly they may trade the #7 and Dan Dickau for Telfair, which is pretty much highway robbery Portland's way. Or they could use part of a trade exception. Either way, seems like Ainge is hellbent on acquiring some sore of point guard today, whether it's drafting or trading for one. There was also a rumor of the Bulls trading the 16th for Marquis Daniels from Dallas, but apparently the Bulls brass don't like Daniels contract which has another 3 years and $19M on it. I think it would be a good deal for you guys though, especially if Daniels can get back into the form he showed in his rookie season. Jamaal Magliore seems like he won't be with the Brewers by the end of the day. Washington could trade the 18th pick for him.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) Gay is a freak but I don't think he has the desire to be a great player and I don't even want to get in to everything I dislike about Thomas but lets just say I don't think highly of him. I think many people may have said that about Pippen when he came out. I think if he's under the right coach and motivated properly, Gay could easily be a superstar. Interesting your thoughts on Thomas. It seems like Aldridge is the safe pick, won't be an all star but will be a solid NBA player, but Thomas could be, yet most Bulls fans won't to go for the safe option. Kind of like the Dwight Howard / Emeka Okafor situation from 2 years ago. On another topic, reading various mocks, I can only come up with 1 situation in which we're gonna get Gay. The top 4 teams CANNOT trade down, and Charlotte would have to take Morrison 3rd, while Portland takes Thomas or Aldridge 4th. Atlanta takes Williams at 5, and Minnesota Roy at 6. This allows us to trade up with Boston.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) I think both teams did pretty solid in this deal. The Drays got a nice young catcher and Seo isn't horrible(though he's been bad this year). I like what the Dodgers did too though. They might have overpaid a bit but Hendrickson is having a pretty solid season and with that division being wide open and L.A. really needing a starter this could put them over the top for now. I can't see Hendrickson's good season continuing however. If you look at his numbers, he's not a high K guy at all, and eventually I think his BAA is going to high from .241 to his career norm of .291. Although his away numbers are better this season. It will be interesting to see how he does in the NL for the 1st time.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) If you're going to compare anyone to Tyson, it's Tyrus. There will be one pissed off Rowand if the Bulls take Thomas in this draft . I'm torn on who I want the Bulls to draft. IMO Brandon Roy is and will be the best player in this draft but the Bulls need for a big man still out weighs the need for a big guard(though we need one of those as well). I won't complain with Roy or LA but anything else and I won't be happy(I know this is one of Paxson's bigger concerns ), unless there is a trade. Well I went for the Tyson = LaMarcus comparison because in Aldridge's combine workout he only benchpressed 185 pounds 8 times. Compare that to someone like Shelden Williams who benchpressed that amount more than 24 times. Roy will be the best player out of this draft in his rookie season, but long - term someone like Gay or Thomas will probably be better IMHO.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) I thought that Navarro was supposed to be AWESOME. How'd the Dodgers part with him for so little in return from TB? Navarro got injured, Martin took over, did better than expected, so the Dodgers couldn't really demote Martin. TB did very well here. Hendrickson's track record over the past few seasons not including this one is very average to say the least.
  15. Wow if this goes down, either way it looks like Ainge wants to wheel and deal tomorrow and not stay at #7;

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 02:53 PM) To improve the team. So what would you prefer Derek Jeter or Miguel Tejada here (bring Mr. Reinsdorf your checkbook as well).
  17. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 06:20 AM) I still say it's a penalty. You slide in the box and don't get the ball, you're usually screwed. Maybe Grosso accentuated the dive, but as I said before Neill dove in the box, missed the ball, and got the man. The thing is, he did the slide tackle thinking Grollo was going to go to the byline, and his momentum had stopped. Grollo ran straight at Neill, Neill didn't really move at all, and Grolli ran into him. But we'll agree to disagree. But from what I've seen from experts etc. worldwide, most people are saying it was a terrible decision. Now in the context of the game, 4 mins into injury time, you cannot really pay a penalty for that. 10 minutes before there was a clear handball in the opposing box by an Italian defender, but of course as it's been all tournament, we didn't get the call.
  18. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Still no need for tyrus thomas... If Paxson thinks he's the guy with the most potential in this draft, he'll probably pick him. Suprised you're not going down the LaMarcus = Chandler path here Sleepy.
  19. Always good to see Lumsden pitch well. He's been very solid this season so far.
  20. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) How can Aldridge possibly slip to ten!? If the Celtics pass on him, I'll be one unhappy camper. They have Boston taking Marcus Williams at #7. Suppose their logic is the Celts need a pure PG, so Delonte West can become the 6th man off the bench. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) We don't have the time to wait on Thomas like a team lile Portland can. We need someone to step in and contribute now, not in 3 years. We are a contender looking to add pieces to the puzzle, not a garbage team look to build around someone who could be good in 3 years. I'll dispute that, and I know I'll get flamed for it around here. The Bulls in my mind won't be serious contenders in the East for another season or 2 at least. You'll need guys like Deng to actually hit their prime first. Don't forget that Chicago is still a very young team in terms of guys you have in your starting lineup etc.

I'm gonna wait until next year when the prices is cheaper, and when GTA IV and Metal Gear Solid 4 are both out. Table Tennis by Rockstar looks like a fun game to own though.
  22. Right now, unless Charlotte trades up to #1 to get Tyrus Thomas, I think they're going to take Rudy Gay at #3. The only way I can Orlando nabbing Gay is if, Charlotte goes for Morrison at #3, Portland takes a big, Atlanta takes Shelden, and Minnesota nab Brandon Roy. Then we could trade up with Boston, who want to trade down. Give em a 2nd rounder, or if you hav to, Dooling for doing so, so we can nab Gay. Right now nbadraft.net has up taking Shannon Brown at #11, ahead of the likes of Brewer and Redick. They have Aldridge slipping all the way down to Seattle at #10 too FWIW.
  23. Nice job by Mark, Brandon and Bobby tonight. Just keep winning the games we need to win.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) I was just throwing his name out there, considering when Cora was a free agent, he was a popular name on this board. IIRC and correct me if I'm wrong, that was to replace Willie Harris as the 2nd baseman, before we signed Tadahito Iguchi.
