  1. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 07:05 PM) Thats mostly what I based my idea off of, and Davis didnt even get a thousand yards. He did have some decent stats, personally if he had such a good rush avg then why two tds? He didn't get 1000 yards because he only played 11 games. And I'd say he only had 2 red zone TD's, because the Texans are just hopeless down in the red zone in quite a few aspects, such as coaching (Capers and Palmer getting fired), and the Texans not being able to protect Carr, so defenses can just concentrate on stopping Davis on the first and second down.
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Pic of the week that I made for BANG! cartoons. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y115/knig...cs/norvgone.gif Now we just need Alex Smith picking that head up, just before he gets sacked.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) Is there any doubt that Steve Nash is the MVP of the league? The difference in the overall play of the team when he's out of the game compared to when he's in the game is incredible. They lose Joe Johnson, Q. Richardson and have been without Amare all year, yet here they are at 26-13 and starting to distance themselves from everybody in the Pacific division. Nash has got my vote. That whole team is really quite amazing. They lose JJ, easy just replace him with Boris Diaw. You lose Q Rich, ok we'll just get Raja Bell to replace him. And if anything, the players they've brought in, even though they're not as well known, are better defensively, they're tougher, and there's a lot more movement on offense. They're my pick for the title IF and this is the key, they can stay healthy.
  4. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 06:38 PM) I think with the receivers he has he could post better numbers, Id rather have Booker Chambers and McMichael as my receivers than Galloway and clayton, I really dont see Galloway having the same performance, first frerotte has to start, but this is based solely upon what the Dolphins do with their draft pick, I really think they should take Cutler. Galloway's pretty much the perfect fit in Gruden's offense. And I'd expect Clayton to bounce back and his stats will reflect his rookie numbers a lot more then this season. Linehan implemented a good vertical passing attack in Miami, and Chambers was the main beneficiary. It'll be interesting to see who they get to replace him, but right now I wouldn't think Chambers wouldn't put up the same numbers as he did this season.
  5. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) and they really dont have the greatest qbs also. Do you expect Gus Freotte if he's the starter to post better numbers next season then Chris Simms with Scott Linehan heading to St. Louis?
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) At least I remember why TMac is my favorite player in the league Mine too, before Dwight Howard came along. It's a shame his career is never going to be as good as it could be with that chronic back injury of his. That's one of the reasons we decided to trade him really.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 05:56 AM) Is there something wrong with this guy that I have never heard about? You know, besides being slow and fat. I don't understand how he can still be a FA. I think he's really good. Quite funny how he could get just a little over what Hernandez will get over the length of his 4 year deal with the Orioles. I think Molina just got caught in a numbers game. It seemed he was headed to the Mets, but they traded for Lo-Duca instead (stoopid, since they had to give up Gaby Hernandez for it), while the Mariners signed that Japanese catcher. Either Toronto or LA will do well at getting him for that price.
  8. I still think if the team's gonna move, it's gonna be to Portland. Las Vegas would be the biggest risk/reward scenario, but I don't think that will evantuate. The Charlotte scenario would be a longshot at this point.
  9. Now for the important question, what did you bet?
  10. Congradulations PA! Hope all of the wedding plans go well. How bout serving Fosters at the reception?
  11. Right now I seriously think Chicago may have a worst record than the Knicks at the end of the season. So I think the pipedreams of LaMarcus Aldridge probably aren't going to evantuate. And right now Dwight doesn't even have a low post game, he's got 1 low post move. Here's what Charles Rosen said about him; So the potential is scary, when he's almost putting up 20/20 games at the moment.
  12. Juwan Howard scored 30? Damn you guys are in trouble. Oh and Tyson got injured again.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 12:12 PM) Travesty. That we spelt Willie's name wrong?
  14. Gimme 5 months of OPS's above .800 instead of 4.
  15. With Memphis it's simply a case of less is more. Get rid of the bad apples like Stromile Swift, and they've thrived ever since. They'll get Chucky Atkins very soon as well to help replace Mighty Mouse Stoudemire. The Hornets have easily been the suprise of the season for mine. Chris Paul is already a top 5 PG in this league. And David West would be fighting it out with Boris Diaw for most improved player in the league. To take the next step they need upgrades at SF and C though. The Clippers have mainly improved from the steps Chris Kaman and Elton Brand have taken in their game. A lot of people were probably laughing at the Clips when they took Kaman a few years ago in that loaded stiff, bringing back the white stiff memories. They're not laughing now. One team that I think is in an interesting situation is Charlotte. They're pretty much the worst team in the NBA right now, and that's down to injuries. Tonight against the Magic they're missing Okafor, Sean May and Melvin Ely. Hence Dwight Howard almost has a double - double midway thru the 2nd quarter. But if they get a real high pick, they can pick Adam Morrison to fill their SG hole, and they've got a pretty good starting 5 in Knight / Felton, Morrison, Wallace, Okafor and Brezec. Also Nate McMillan is starting to bring Portland around. They've won 4 straight, albeit all at home, but they're looking better. Getting Telfair out of the lineup and putting Steve Blake in was a good start.
  16. Seems a lot like Duncan Keith doesn't he, albeit a little bit bigger. I guess Yawney just didn't like Babchuk much at all.
  17. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) If we can get 20 pucks for him, great. If we can get a bag to hold those pucks as well, even better. They can take cullimore back, he's just taking away ice time from guys like babchuk who should be playing minutes in the nhl. Cullimore has been terrible this year. My thoughts exactly. Tallon should just try to ship off these veteran guys for draft picks, or some young players like Sharp and Vrbata who can make an impact. From the last Tim Sassone article I read, the Senators were interested in Kyle Calder, the Devils in Jim Dowd, and quite a few in Adrian Aucoin. I'd still like to keep Aucoin unless we got a great offer, we need 1 good veteran d-man on this team. But the fringe veteran guys like Dowd, Brown, Cullimore etc. need to be traded.
  18. BUMP. The Hawks beat Colorado 4-2 tonight, the Avalanche were on something like a 8 game winning streak before that. Khabi had a great game, the goalie situation looks a lot better with him and Munro, and Anderson got claimed on waivers by the Bruins so we won't be seeing him again. I always thought they should have kept Leighton anyway, since I think he'd shown more in the NHL then Anderson did. But anyways, Radim Vrbata has pretty much single handledly got this team going somewhere on offense. He's scored 8 points in 10 games and 6 in his last 5. Tallon's actually made a couple of good trades getting Vrbata for future considerations, and Patrick Sharp who seemed to be doing ok before getting injured. Apparently, Cullimore will probably get shipped off to the Lighting soon, as they need to improve their D-Corps. And Mikhail Yakubov scored his first NHL goal today getting 2 points. Ironically it happened after he replaced Arny on the Calder - Arny - Vrbata line, when Arny got benched for taking a needless penalty. I'd keep Yak with those 2 guys, see if they can get something going.
  19. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) Marcus Spears at 11?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!! OW. It was really quite interesting, everyone thought we were going to take Merriman, but if Ware as off the board and Merriman still was, that may not have been the case. Like I said Spears isn't going to do a lot of things that will get him easily noticed, but he's a very important part of our defense.
  20. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) Marion Barber anyone? I mean he did outperform JJ. Oh yeah forgot about him pretty stupid of me. I'll give him a A. For a 4th round draft pick, he looked a lot better than the other running backs taken ahead of him. He's got real good power b/w the tackles, and is pretty good in the red zone. Excellent at aspects like pass blocking as well.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 12:43 AM) I think your evaluation was pretty fair Dbaho but id give Spears a C at best.... definitely not a B. Yeah possibly, but a 3-4 DE isn't going to have a lot of sacks and tackles. But it was a good choice at the spot we were at, when we had to get a big guy for that D-Line. We almost took him at 11 actually, if Ware was no longer on the board IIRC.
  22. Good signing if he's a backup. Ironically, he's going to a team that has a SS in Alex Cora, when Harris didn't want to play that position. But if he's playing everyday in CF, not a good option. I wouldn't mind him leading off playing at second baseman, if he have that OBP up to .340 - .350.
